It is incredible to think that there is just one week left of our academic year! In this penultimate week, the children have once again enjoyed a veritable feast of activities. Some of our musicians were involved with Monday’s T-Fest and on Tuesday there was another visit to St Teresa’s for those children who made their First Holy Communion this year. Thank you to everyone involved for laying on such a beautiful service.
Continuing the idea of exploring aspects of faith from Values Week, some of our Upper Prep children took part in the annual Good Shepherd Celebration. While that allowed for some moments of quiet contemplation, Year 5 were occupied with a rather more challenging prospect on their Go Ape trip, tackling ground obstacles and high ropes. Not to miss out on the excitement, Year 6 were treated to an inflatable assault course and gladiatorial challenge.
Our Year 1 and 2 girls were able to visit Manor House for their summer production of Shrek and Reception ventured to the Look Out Discovery Centre earlier today.
Thanks must go to our School Council as they held their final fundraising event of the year: a very popular ice cream sale. They have done fantastically well as representatives of their classes, bringing forward ideas to help improve our school and support charitable initiatives.
Saturday marks the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, and we celebrated with a special Founders Day Mass on Tuesday for Nursery through to Year 10. It was wonderful to have all of our pupils gathered together and there was a real sense of community to the morning as we sang hymns of praise and gathered in prayer. Thank you to those parents and governors who were able to join us to mark the occasion.

T-Fest
Congratulations to the pupils in the Wind Band and Sax Group who performed brilliantly at T Fest this week. We were blessed with sunshine for this wonderful celebration of musical talent from both Cranmore and St Teresa’s.
Chaplaincy Events
First Holy Communion
On Tuesday, First Holy Communicants across the Trust gathered at the chapel in St Teresa’s. We celebrated the great faith of our young pupils and truly met Jesus, fully present in the Eucharist. In this world faith is such a great gift and in our Year of Faith we have come to discover how important it is to open the eyes of our hearts to His presence and love.
Celebration of the Good Shepherd
On Thursday, six pupils from Cranmore and seven pupils from St Teresa’s travelled to Worth Abbey to be with Bishop Richard and celebrate as a Diocese. There are seventy-seven Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton. It was a wonderful celebration where we gave our lives once more to Jesus and asked for his help and support.
Year 6 Ramble for Values Week
On Friday 21st June, Year 6 pupils and Form Tutors ventured into the Surrey Hills to complete a 10km walk in beautiful sunshine as part of Values Week’s focus on Faith. Mr Jakubowski led the year group in moments of prayer and reflection, and the boys very much enjoyed their walk through the woods. As we approach the end of a busy year, this was a very welcome escape into nature and an opportunity to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future.

Year 5 Trip to Go Ape
On Thursday 27th June, the Year 5 boys went to Go Ape for the day at Alice Holt as part of Activities Week. The boys had the opportunity to play a number of team building games as well as try two challenging high ropes courses! It was a fantastic day out and the boys embraced the challenges brilliantly!

Year 4 Trip to Hampton Court Palace
Year 4 enjoyed a lovely day out at Hampton Court Palace last Friday. The boys managed to find their way to the centre of the maze – and out again! We learnt a lot about Elizabethan trade as well as exploring parts of the palace. After a picnic lunch on the lawns, we were treated to a session on the Real Tennis Courts; we thoroughly enjoyed having a go ourselves, and then we had the opportunity to watch a game.

Year 5 Science
5DC were lucky enough to have 4 reptilian visitors recently. Sydney (a crested gecko), Lime Jungle (a panther chameleon) and two red-footed tortoises called Dick and Dom joined us in the classroom. Sydney was surprisingly soft, Lime Jungle demonstrated how reptiles shed their skins and Dick and Dom largely ignored the audience, focusing on their favourite snack strawberries.
When Dick, or perhaps it was Dom, did stop eating they were surprisingly speedy across the Science Lab desks! Pupils enjoyed meeting all the reptiles, kindly brought in by Willsby, and many were brave enough to let Lime Jungle climb up to whatever vantage point to which they would let him go usually a head!
Thank you Willsby for sharing your amazing presentation with us all.

Year 6 Production: Pantastic!
Year 6 delivered a pantastic performance for parents on Thursday 20th June. They showed confidence and team work when producing a very entertaining and musical adaptation of Peter Pan. Pupils performed the story of everlasting youth at an important stage of their growing up. I encouraged them to never forget the wonderful memories of childhood, collaborative experiences and to continue to enjoy their imaginations. We thanked the parents for their commitment and role in supporting the boys through the process. They should all be very proud of their achievement and have ‘faith’ in their talents and abilities.

Year 1 Trip to the Rural Life Living Museum
Year 1 went to the Rural Life Living Museum last Friday to participate in a Victorian Day. They took part in a Monday Wash Day and Victorian school experience. We had a fabulous day!
Year 3 Forest School Trip
During Year 3’s final visit of the term to Forest School, they used a bow saw, enjoyed the mud kitchen, climbed trees and made popcorn over the fire.
Nursery News
Nursery had a lovely morning on Thursday at Forest School. They made medals from wood and were even able to use the saw (with Ellie’s support!). They also had fun swinging in the hammock and hunting for butterflies.

Year 4 Geography
This week during our Geography lessons, Ms Schembri came to visit both Year 4 classes to talk about their current topic of Italy and, in particular, Sicily from where her family originates. The children had all written questions on post-it notes and were delighted to hear her stories about her family and relations and where she had spent her summer holidays as a child.
We learnt about the population, climate, beaches to visit, famous landmarks, the food, the culture and some top tips if we were to visit one day. We even tried out some Italian and Sicilian words such as bambini, picciridda (little boy), bellisimo or bedda (beautiful).
Thank you so much for coming to visit us and sharing your informative slides, Ms Schembri.

A Message from our Chaplaincy Team
Pilgrimage
A Reading from the Book of Psalms
"Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible."
St Francis of Assisi
It is good to give thanks to the Lord to make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your truth in the watches of the night.
Reflection Amen
The just will flourish like the palm tree and grow like a Lebanon cedar. Planted in the house of the Lord they will flourish in the courts of our God, still bearing fruit when they are old, still full of sap, still green, to proclaim that the Lord is just. In him, my rock, there is no wrong.
The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God
Reflection
This week we focus on the religious practice of making a Pilgrimage.
Pilgrimages can bring us closer to God and give us the time and space we need to discover His presence. A pilgrimage is about the journey not just the destination.
Quotation from Saint Augustine
"In all trouble you should seek God. You should not set Him over against your troubles, but within them. God can only relieve your troubles if you in your anxiety cling to Him. Trouble should not really be thought of as this thing or that in particular, for our whole life on earth involves trouble; and through the troubles of our earthly pilgrimage we find God."
