1. PRINCETON CITY SCHOOLS The joint middle school/high school facility, separated by centrally located shared space, includes a natatorium, arena-style gymnasium, performance theater and music complex. Each school features science labs, art studios and technology labs introducing STEAM and project-based learning. The music wing includes a 1,000-seat theater as well as studios for vocalists, the band, the orchestra, piano, jazz, and theater. The district is committed to attaining LEED Silver certification. 2. BATAVIA ELEMENTARY: The scope of this project includes a Campus Master Plan for the entire existing site intended to optimize the location of the new school given the district’s future needs. The client’s vision for the new school includes flexible classrooms and collaborative workspace for small and large group settings. CR is designing a new facility to accommodate this 21st Century curriculum with shared spaces including a media center, gymnasium, cafeteria and stage. 3. SCHOOL FOR CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS: As the first publicly and privately funded K-12 arts school in the nation, the facility combines traditional brick tied to the vernacular of the surrounding masonry buildings with a patterned, contemporary curve of recycled stainless steel and zinc metal panels. The southwest façade arcs back from the masonry veneer to reveal a grand 750-seat theater. The five-story building houses professional-grade
dance and art studios, sound stages, practice rooms, a costume shop, black-box theater, 300seat recital theater, media center, gymnasium, dining facilities and flexible classroom spaces that accommodate various teaching/learning styles. Colorful accents and artwork punctuate the sleek spaces throughout the school. 4. MAPLE DALE ELEMENTARY: The new design incorporates transparent conditioned hallways to connect the academic spaces, creating communities and separate identities for each grade level. Maple Dale has a very active music and arts program and the new cafeteria reflects the school’s emphasis on arts, as it is utilized as the central hub of the school. Named Imagination Theater, this space is used for special presentations and events. Additionally, CR designed the entire school around green initiatives. 5. MARS HILL ACADEMY Mars Hill Academy is currently capable of serving up to 350 K-12 students. CR performed a master plan to allow for future site and building expansions. Of these expansions, one classroom addition has been completed and a gymnasium addition is underway. The school features 17 academic classrooms, a science lab, art and music classrooms, library, multi-purpose room, warming kitchen and building services areas. The building design reflects a modest and humble institution that encourages community interaction and respect for the environment.
6. SAINT MARGARET OF YORK CR is once again working with Saint Margaret of York, this time to produce the Master Plan documentation that consists of a program of spaces, rendered floor plans, rendered site plan, and a conceptual estimate for budgetary purposes. New spaces include new outdoor learning areas and a greenhouse as well as potential porte-cochère at the church/school gathering space. 7. HUGHES CENTER HIGH SCHOOL This $47 million project upgraded the existing Hughes Center, originally built in 1910, and planned functional interior spaces for the new STEM high school program. The project entailed all new infrastructure, windows, masonry and terra cotta restoration, new finishes, new casework, etc. New energy efficient windows were designed to receive and fit the existing historic stained glass panels. 8. MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL This project involved a 105,000-sf addition and 29,000-sf of renovations to the existing 225,000sf high school. Improvements include a roof replacement, new two-story freshmen center, music wing, cafeteria/kitchen, entrance lobby, and expanded and renovated administration offices and science labs. The project also included various site modifications. The modifications involved adding and relocating several athletic fields to optimize use of the site. CR also provided graphic and signage services for this project.

“In the past, I’ve worked with architects that brought a set of plans that were adapted from previous projects. This was not that type of project, and CR is not one of those firms. They became part of our team, collaborating, listening, designing, and developing principles that were paramount to this project. I’ve worked with lots of architects and contractors during the past 15-20 years through $660 million of school construction, and CR is right at the top. We have a growing professional relationship that has evolved into personal relationships with many members of the CR team. I have no reservations recommending CR for any work they want to do in the future.” -Princeton City Schools
