HOURS OF OPERATION: The Recreation Office is located at the Frances Anderson Center. The FAC is open from 8:30am to 8:30pm, Monday through Friday, and 9am to 2pm, Saturday. The building will be closed May 27 and July 4.

Edmonds residents make a significant contribution to the City’s financing and operation through property taxes. Therefore, Edmonds residents receive a discount off the regular class fee.

Swim Instruction – Youth, Teen & Adult Our warm water, multi-depth pool is great for learning. Children will progress with confidence and learn to love the water. Our enthusiastic and well-trained instructors create a positive and fun experience. Classes are offered mornings, afternoons, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. Schedules are available at the Pavilion office with specific class times the week prior to each session. Our lesson progression is skill based and emphasizes proper technique and safety. If you are unsure of where your child might fit best, please see one of our aquatic coordinator for a skill assessment. Marlins Summer Swim Team 2019 The Marlins are a recreational swim team for swimmers ages 6-18. We emphasize improvement of strokes, endurance and fun. The Marlins will compete in dual meets each week as part of the Craze Swim League with these other recreational swim teams: Yost Penguins, Lynnwood Sharks, Shoreline Gators, Kirkland Orcas, McCollum Frogs, Snohomish Piranhas and Everett Barracudas. Practices are held MondayThursday and will begin Thursday, June 27. The all-league swim meet will be held August 10 at Snohomish Aquatic Center. Register for one of the specific practice times listed below, this will be your child’s practice time for the summer. Open registration begins March 4th.
Placement in the Elite Practice Groups requires a minimum time standard listed below: • 9-12 Year olds: 50 Freestyle: 38.50 or faster AND 100 IM 1:40.00 or faster • 13-18 Year olds: 50 Freestyle: 35.50 or faster AND 100 IM 1:30.00 or faster

Pre-requisite for participation: Children who have not completed at least one session in our Advanced level program will need to have a placement evaluation by a coach. Safety Classes American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning format will be used:
The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. This program offers a choice of Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED courses to meet the various training needs of a diverse audience. Junior Aquatic Leader Camp
This is for youth ages 12-14. Campers will gain a wide variety of knowledge and experience that will include first aid skills, CPR, water rescue techniques, team work, responsibility and the importance of physical fitness. Each day campers will practice lifeguarding skills, team building and will work with our swim lesson program gaining hands on experience teaching and entry in the Recreation Swim is included. On Friday we will take a field trip to Lake Ballinger for a BBQ lunch and fun activities around the lake. Our warm water, indoor swimming pool is available for year-round fun! All rentals include tubes, mats, basketball hoop, water walk, noodles, water toys and lifejackets. Pool parties are fun for all ages and swimming abilities. Half the pool or the full pool may be rented. Add our Lazy River to our half pool rentals, it will wind you around by a light current for additional fun! Adults are required to accompany children in the water at all rentals. All pool rentals will receive a rules orientation and a swim check for deep water swimming at the beginning of the rental.

Musical Theater Tap (Adults / Teens / Kids 7+)
The basics of tap will be introduced and a musical theater dance from a classical movie will be taught in this two hour session. Day 1 will be “The Sound of Music” and Day 2 will be “Mary Poppins.” All experience levels are welcome so bring the whole family ages 8+. Kids Jazz & Lyrical
Jazz & Lyrical classes always include warm-up, progressions across the floor, turns and a fun routine to show off to parents and friends in the last class. Jazz uses isolations of body parts for percussive movement and is danced to a diversity of music. Clogging has its roots in the Appalachian Mountains and is popular worldwide. It’s a rhythmic, hoedown style dance using shoes similar to tap and can be performed to most genre of music. Registration for Fall Programs Now Underway! Fall Preschool and Kindergarten Readiness Classes (Ages 3-5)
Activities include creative expression through art, movement, dramatic play and language opportunities, hands-on math and science experiences, craft projects, and enhancement opportunities that may include community field trips, dance and/or swimming. Participants must be at least 3 years old by August 31st, able to dress themselves and have independent bathroom skills. Kindergarten Readiness participants must be at least 4 years old by August 31st and eligible to enter Kindergarten in the fall of 2019.*
Junior Kids Krew (Ages 3-5)
Junior Kids Krew is a quality child care program for ages 3-5 years offering a unique combination of recreational and enrichment experiences in a relaxed and caring environment. Curriculum is similar to that listed for our preschool and kindergarten readiness classes. Participants must be at least 3 year olds, able to dress themselves and have independent bathroom skills. Program has been certified by Washington Department of Early Learning and is offered year round. Care available from 6:30am to 6:30pm up to a maximum of 10 hours a day. DSHS subsidies are accepted for qualified applicants. * Children eligible to register for Kindergarten in the fall of 2020 are unable to attend.

Kids Krew is a quality before and after school experience for children ages 5-12 years offering a wide array of engaging activities in a fun, caring and relaxed environment. Programs located at Mountlake Terrace Pavilion and Madrona K-8 have all been certified by Washington Department of Early Learning. Elementary schools served include Maplewood, Madrona, Mountlake Terrace, Sherwood and Terrace Park. Program hours are from 6:30am to start of school and from school release time until 6:30pm. DSHS subsidies are accepted at all sites for qualified applicants. Care on Edmonds School District early release and non-school days can be provided for an additional fee.* * Registration fee of $35 for individuals; $55 for families is required. Refunds ◆ Please

Edmonds ◆ R efunds and transfers must be requested 7 business days prior to the first class and assessed a $10 administrative fee per registration. ◆W ithdrawals from Meadowdale Preschool require one month’s notice and payment. Refunds after April 1 require May payment. ◆F acility Rentals: Refer to your contract for refund information. ◆R Mountlake Terrace egistration for all activities is binding. All participant-based refunds/credits are assessed a $10 service fee with the exception of Semester/Yearly Dance and Fitness classes, which will be assessed a $40 fee. ◆R efunds may take up to four weeks for processing.
