Safety Classes
Our warm water, multi-depth pool is great for learning. Children will progress with confidence and learn to love the water. Our enthusiastic and well-trained instructors create a positive and fun experience. Classes are offered mornings, afternoons, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. Schedules are available at the Pavilion office with specific class times the week prior to each session. Our lesson progression is skill based and emphasizes proper technique and safety. If you are unsure of where your child might fit best, please see one of our aquatic coordinator for a skill assessment. Fall Swim Lesson Dates Days
This course provides entry level Lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. This program includes American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid & CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. This will be offered as a blended learning course format where students complete online lessons outside of class and hands on/in water practice in class. American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric CPR AED & First Aid
Blended Learning Format: The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. Complete all lessons of the online learning session and pass the online assessment with a score of at least 80 percent. Participate in all course activities, demonstrate competency in all required skills, and successfully complete the Putting It All Together Assessment Scenarios. Junior Lifeguarding
This American Red Cross Course is a fun, action-packed program for youth ages 11-14. Participants will learn about prevention of aquatic accidents, improve swimming stroke mechanics, endurance & strength, basic first aid and CPR skills, how to search and apply for a job and the importance of community service. Spring Break Mermaid Camp
New!
Come enjoy a 4-day mermaid camp during spring break! This is for youth ages 8-10 years old. Learn how to swim in a mermaid tail, participants must have their own mono fin and tail to participate. Activities include watching a mermaid themed movie, mermaid make up and learning an in water mermaid routine. Mermaid Swims will be offered during the following Recreation Swims: Fridays 4:30-6:00pm (except the first Friday of the month) Saturdays 6:15-7:45pm and Sundays 5:15-6:45pm. Water Fitness Classes & Times Enjoy the support and warmth of the water. Improve cardiovascular fitness, tone muscles and increase flexibility. Water workouts reduce stress on joints. Shallow Water Fitness
A fast-paced, fitness class designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, tone muscles, and increase flexibility. No swim skills required.
Deep Water Fitness
Low Intensity Fitness Training is a program for those who are looking for a bit of an easier pace from our other classes, if you are just starting a fitness program, or anyone with joint and mobility issues.
Aqua Zumba®
A dynamic, total-body workout with no impact. Students use equipment for support and resistance. Must be comfortable in the deep water, but no swim skills are required.
Aqua Zumba® blends the Zumba® formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio conditioning, body toning and exhilarating!
River Fitness
Use of river current, water resistance and hand weights for a complete body workout. No swim skills required.

All rentals include tubes, mats, basketball hoop, water walk, noodles, water toys and lifejackets. Pool parties are fun for all ages and swimming abilities. Half the pool or full pool may be rented. Add our Lazy River, which winds you around with a light current for additional fun! An adult must accompany children under 4 years old in the water for all rentals.

Lane Space Available to Rent After February 15

Overnight and After Hours: Pool & Room Rentals
Rent the pool and rooms after the pavilion closes or try an overnight on a Friday or Saturday night, if you need a shorter amount of time consider an afterhours pool rental and add a room for classroom time. Arts of the Terrace Winners Announced The Arts of the Terrace Artists’ Reception attracted over 185 artists and patrons as Friends of the Arts and the city’s Arts Advisory Commission celebrated their 40th year hosting this popular regional juried art show. The show attracted 416 entries and awards were presented for the best pieces selected from 300 works that were juried into the show. Entries were submitted from Washington, Oregon and California. This year’s “Best of Show”, sponsored by the McMahan License Agency and was presented to Janice Hoagland for a bronze sculpture entitled “Mom and her Frolicking Foal”. Wayne Rutledge received the Commissioners Choice Award for his photograph, “Wayne and Little Dicken’s.” The Art Commission and Friends of the Arts honored long time Commissioner, Carol McMahan, who also served as a Snohomish County Arts Commissioner. Carol retired this year from the commission and a new award was established in her honor named “The Carol McMahan Merit Award.” Carol selected a painting by Janyce Sukow entitled “Holy Guacamole!” Award winners in the Paintings, Prints, and Drawings category included Jerry Steffen Jr. for “Protect Salmon All Year Round” (1st Place), Teresa Vatter for “Ayden” (2nd Place), and Iryna Milton for “Girl with Necklaces” (3rd Place). Award winners for Photography were Wayne Rutledge for “Jim” (1st Place), Daniel Suckow for “I can Fish Too” (2nd Place), and Henry Heerschap for “Wigwam Motel” (3rd Place). Award winners for Artisan Works were Sam Scott for “Black and White Jar with Handles” (1st Place), Melissa Luna for “Squarred Earth - Tree” (2nd Place) and Ginger Gray for “Pine on Wood #2” (3rd Place). After the award ceremony, patrons and artists were treated to hors d’oeuvres as they enjoyed music by the Battista Brothers, Jerry and Jeff. Watch for swim vouchers that will be distributed in December to all third graders in the Edmonds School District. These vouchers will be for 3 sessions of lessons for School Age Levels 1-4. If you have a non-swimmer in grades K-12 vouchers are available at each participating pool for beginning level swimming. Students must be evaluated to qualify. Both vouchers will be redeemable from January 2-December 31, 2019.
