12th November, 2013 Reflection Remembrance Day God of love and liberty, We bring our thanks today for the peace and security we enjoy, We remember those who in time of war faithfully service their country. We pray for their families, and for ourselves whose freedom was won at such a cost. Make us a people zealous for peace, and hasten that day when nation shall not lift up sword against nation. This we pray in the name of the one who gave his life for the sake of the world: Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen. ‘No one has greater love than this, than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends,’ says the Lord, ‘if you do what I command you.’ John 15:13-14
Remembrance Day
Donation to Caritas Australia
CRC Melton was represented at the Memorial Service at the Cenotaph at Melton on Monday by 12 Year 9 students. The service was beautiful and the students felt like they were a part of something very special. The students were invited to lay a wreath and they showed unbelievable respect and maturity the whole time. Many members of the public commented on our school being a part of the day’s service.
We have all seen the devastating news from the Philippines over the past few days. Fr O’Reilly has asked all CRC Campuses to make a donation to Caritas and we are contributing $5000 towards this appeal. Our prayers and thoughts are with these communities. For further information regarding Caritas: www.caritas.org.au Year 7 2015 Enrolment Evening There will be a Year 7 2015 Enrolment Meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, 13th November at 7.30pm in the College Hall. We expect work to start next week on the College’s Performing Arts Centre (PAC). It will incorporate a 250 seat auditorium / stage along with Drama and Dance classrooms. Its construction will mean the loss of our front staff car park and therefore the necessary closure of the front basketball court area as a temporary measure. John Christie Deputy Principal (Staff)
