21st November, 2017 Reflection Lord, in my better times....Lord, in my better times it is easy for me to ask in prayer that I may never allow the negative actions of others to dictate that I should act in a negative way. In the difficult times that I may face in the future, I ask that I may be true to my inner convictions and still look for the best in others, remaining generous towards them. Remind me too, that as times moves on, people can change and their attitude can change for the better. Amen.

Dear Parents and Students, National School Forum On Monday, I attended the National School Forum at Melbourne University. Guest speakers included Professor Glyn Davis AC, James Merlino, Tanya Plibersek and Bill Shorten. Topics of discussion included:  Vision for Australia’s education system  Improving learning outcomes  Raising the status of the teaching profession  School leadership 2018 School Fees Parents will have noted that 2018 School fees were published in a recent newsletter. Some parents have been concerned about the increase in Year 7-9 fees from $3,550 to $4000. The increase results from the camp fee and eBooks being included in the overall fee. Please note, in 2017, there was no increase to school fees. Mark Sheehan Principal

From the Deputy Principal—Staff College Oval Our College Oval is now finally open. For the remainder of this year, the oval is only for Football. Cricketers may use the nets during this time. Hopefully this will maximise student use of the facility. Football is of course non-tackling to prevent injuries. 2018 Subject Selections All Year 8 and 9 students have received their 2018 Year 9 and 10 subject letters. Changes will no longer be considered as booklist and levy numbers need to be lodged. Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you Each class is currently collecting donations for Christmas hampers which are given out to families and charity organisations within our community. We ask that families get behind this as much as they can so that we can all share the spirit of Christmas. Psalm 41:1- 3 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!
