17th July 2012 Reflection This week’s prayer asks God for a fresh opportunity, a new start. The welcoming of the many new students this term makes this more pertinent for us all here at CRC Melton. A Prayer for a New Start God of new beginnings, help me as I begin this new phase in my life. Reassure me when I find it difficult to adjust to different demands and guide me in the new situations I’ll face in the coming weeks. Thank you for new opportunities, and help me to grasp them with hope and courage. Even when I feel uncertain, help me always remember your guiding presence before me. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Welcome back to Term 3
Maintenance/improvements
A special welcome to all new students and their families.
The maintenance staff have been busy over the break with new electric gates being installed, a new dust extraction system in the Wood Technology room and modifications to the Drama room.
We have enrolled some 43 students from Mowbray College and they were welcomed at a whole school Assembly on Monday. A warm welcome to Ms Indra Liepins, who takes up Mrs Kalm’s English classes for the rest of this year. We also welcome back Mrs Carey, Ms Goldby and Mrs Jakobovic back from their experience in Kenya and Mr McGonegal back from his leave. And we are pleased to note that all staff and students on the Alice Springs tour returned home tired but happy after their central Australian experience. Student Reports A hard copy of reports will be posted home this week. In a new move, families can access student reports online through their child’s individual student profile. Students have their own login details to ensure privacy of data.
We have also been planning to ensure that the new Year 10 class block will be installed in November this year, and discussions are ongoing in respect to the design process for our Trade Training Centre Hub (Engineering) which we hope to have operating in 2013. Welcome night for new parents A night to welcome new parents to the College will be held on Wednesday 25th July at 7.00pm. Mark Sheehan Principal
