21st October, 2014 Reflection Graduation marks a remarkable day in the chapter of a young person’s life. It is not only the culmination of many years of study, but is a coming-of-age, a moment when the person is no longer a child and is now a fully-fledged adult. We keep in our prayers our Year 12’s who tonight celebrate their graduation. Graduation Prayer Father, we thank you so much for our time here together For all the friends we have made for all the days of laughter and fun And for all the times of great discovery and learning. We thank You for all who have given of their energy and skill so that we can graduate today. Our teachers and mentors our family and loved ones we thank You for them and give them all to You in prayer. As this chapter on our lives closes, so a new one begins. We present ourselves like an open book before You. Come and scribe Your words of life into our lives Fill our minds with Your thoughts fill our bodies with Your strength Fill our hearts with Your dreams that we might eternally love and serve You This day and every day. We ask all this in the glorious name of Jesus who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit World without end. Amen.
Year 12 Final Day
Journey of Remembrance
Our Year 12 class of 2014 had a morning of fun and celebration today with students and staff getting into the spirit of things by dressing in colourful costumes. Thanks to the staff who came in at 6 o'clock to cook up a hearty breakfast for the Year 12 Students. Special thanks to Pauline Jakobovic, Al Bloom, Henry Goralski, Kay Sawyer, Trish Griffin, Marion Jackson Sharryn Bertsias, Rachael Abraham, Paul Iannazzo, Carissa Lock, Steve Goldby, Karen Hunter and Claire Closter.
Year 9 Students witnessed Victoria’s Journey of Remembrance on Monday morning. A Victorian Government centenary initiative, this community focused roadshow, Victoria’s Journey of Remembrance, is a program of events at secondary schools to encourage and support Victorian students to learn more about their country World War One history, to research their own personal connections, and to work within their local communities to ensure that we share Victoria’s stories as we led into ANZAC Day, 2015. Special guests included representatives from the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Don Nardella, our local Member, representatives from Victoria’s Journey of Remembrance roadshow, Alex Wallis, Legacy, Stan Franklin, Bacchus Marsh RSL and Eddy Turner representing Fr Michael Moody. It was fitting that the day culminated with the planting of a Lone Pine here at CRC in front of the College Chapel. The Lone Pine was donated by a family within our community. We greatly appreciate this gesture as it will be where we gather, as a College on Remembrance Day and Anzac Day, to pay our respects to those men and women who fought for Australia.
We look forward to our Graduation Mass and Ceremony tonight at St Catherine's Church.
Parents & Friends Meeting There will be a Parents & Friends meeting Wednesday, 29th October at 7.30pm.
