Aashit Singh

Born in the northern part of India, psychedelic artist, he resides in Mumbai. He loves nature and draws his vivid imaginations from connecting with it, which result into the far-fetched genre of illustrations. theare.co.in

Visionary Ascension How does one express forms that cannot be seen by the naked eye; heard by the ear, or even felt by touch through visuals? That process is what visionary digital artist Aashit Singh, takes us through, as he explains the various aspects that go into such an act. Creating The Dream. ‘Visual Enlightenment’ and ‘Illuminated Refinement’, generally, are the two most inspiring inner states to convey otherworldly imagery. The intense and deliberate use of progressive imagery and symbolism replicating itself on either side (i.e. reality or dream) helps produce that uncharacteristic effect - mainly due to the merging of the stories and the elements that help narrate it. Likewise, highlights, ethereal and vivid colour tones enhance the illusory environment of the artwork. A lot of elemental play also exists between the revealed and the exposed. The fine balance of the detailing in these elements is most important for the subject and its environment, giving a more subtle amalgamated look and feel to the overall imagery

Hues of Weather Mimicking nature is no small task, especially when it involves a moody and constantly swinging factor such as the weather. Yet, watercolour artist from Pondicherry, Nadees Prabou, attempts to bring to life nature’s aspects in the most realistic representations possible, through his watercolour paintings of different weather situations.

Rushing cattle. The fury of bulls as they make their way across the ground, splashing and thudding through their path, as they gallop and leap in a collective effort. The splash of red and brown represents their furious dash.

Rainy storm. A rainy day in full force, causing a sense of havoc amongst pedestrians, while they try with all their might to hold onto and shield themselves with their umbrellas.

Nadees Prabou

is a watercolour artist from Pondicherry. The weather of the location excites him as a subject for his paintings, as he’s always had a fascination for it (especially the monsoon season), which reflects in his works. His paintings have been exhibited in various art galleries, across south India. nadeeswatercolours.blogspot.com

Inspiration shapes and gives flow to one’s work. Inspiration is important, and being inspired is what gives direction to not only your chosen style of art but also the way you actually conceive it during execution; unfold it on the canvas, and finally manifest it as a whole. Likewise, the weather has always inspired Nadees Prabou, ever since his childhood. He’s always admired the varying force and power of nature, and the impact it has on the surroundings, including the lives of beings (be it trees, animals or people) that are subject to it. An example of this being evident would be factors such as the strong force of the wind, and the dampness everywhere around, portrayed in his paintings that depict the monsoon time

Vantage View

‘Ad’ing Change Acclaimed Illustrator, Nasheet Shadani, employs his experience and know-how in the field of advertising to inform us about the constantly transforming nature of the field; the factors influencing these changes, and the effects of this going advancement.

Nasheet Shadani

Illustrator & Creative Strategist www.nasheet.in

Advertising, like any other creative industry, is about transformation. This process of transformation has been much faster in the previous few years. The art of communication has evolved from being merely ‘announcements’ to real time engagements. Earlier, it used to be very passive, but it is now becoming more and more active. These changes are based on the context of the social structure and related trends which existed then and the way they have become now, with respect to the current status of economy, technological leaps, means of communication, nature of aspirations and so on. With the ongoing advent of improvised and more innovative technology, new media emerges as a byproduct of the changing scene, and with the evolution of new media, new languages and behaviors are formed and cultivated. Smart brands are those that are more open and quick in adapting to these upcoming changes. Each and every day, we are bombarded with more and more information and visuals, in all sorts of ways. Our brain automatically starts filtering information i.e. if an ad looks like an “ad”, it will be on the top of a person’s ‘ignore-this-list’.

This demands a relook at how we are going to create advertising. Less text and more visuals that clearly communicate the point; videos that work without sound; messages that are delivered in the first few seconds, and worthdisrupting content are few of the advertising needs based on how people respond to ads these days. India is coming out to be one of the fastest growing online populations. This revolution needs to be smartly encashed. For example, on platforms like Facebook, a great idea from a small startup can reach millions of welltargeted people, through a single click. The future is going to be even more exciting. Technology cannot save a bad idea. No matter how technology-driven we become as a society, the pressure will always be on thinkers. A great idea put strategically across various media is the hack

Technology and the fast-paced culture is also changing the way we focus our attention. According to a Microsoft research, the attention spans of people have dropped from 12 seconds (in 2000) to 8 seconds (2015).
