As we head into race week, we’re full of hope and excitement – bringing a live in-person PGDC Race Weekend back to Bayshore is a momentous occasion and one we’ll treasure. 15K Start: Brorein St. & Franklin St.: 6:45 a.m. In 2022, to assist with COVID 19 Mitigation, the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic 15K will feature two rolling Wave Starts. Each Wave will feature four corrals of 500. Wave #1 will Start at 6:45 a.m. and Wave #2 at 6:48 a.m. As a corral clears the Start Line, the next corral will be immediately walked forward to the Start Line. On Race Morning, once a corral reaches capacity at 500, the corral will close and late comers will be directed to an open corral. Race Numbers will be assigned according to each participants Projected Finish Time (90 minutes & Under or 91 minutes & Over) that was provided at the time of registration. 5K Start: Brorein St. & Ashley St.: 9:15 a.m. In 2022, to assist with COVID 19 Mitigation, the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic 5K Run will feature eight Wave Starts. Each participant will be assigned a Wave according to their Projected Finish Time provided at time of registration. Each participant’s Race Number will be color-coded to the assigned Wave Start. SUN., FEB. 27, 2022 PUBLIX GASPARILLA HALF MARATHON & 8K Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon Rolling Start: 6 a.m. Bayshore Blvd. facing north at PGDC Finish Line In 2022, to assist with COVID 19 Mitigation, the Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon & 8K will feature one rolling Wave Start. The Half Marathon will feature four corrals of 500 on Bayshore Blvd. (2-hours & Under) and four corrals of 500 on Bayshore Blvd. (2-hours & Over). The rolling start will begin at 6 a.m. As a corral clears the Start Line, the next corral will be immediately walked forward to the Start Line. On Race Morning, once a corral reaches capacity at 500, the corral will close and late comers will be directed to an open corral. Race Headquarters: Tampa Convention Center, East & Central Hall, 333 South Franklin St. • 8 On Your Side Health & Fitness Expo: Tampa Convention Center, East & Central Hall Fri., Feb. 25, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Feb. 26, 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. – The City of Tampa has lifted their Mask Mandate for all city buildings, including the Tampa Convention Center. – Masks will be encouraged while in the convention center, but not required. Masks will be required for those choosing on-site COVID-19 Testing in the convention center’s Meeting Room #24. • The Expo is FREE and open to the public. In addition to PGDC Packet Pick-up, several health and fitness professionals will be on-hand to help you learn how to lead a more healthy lifestyle. • Visit the Ferman display at the Expo to check out some of your favorite vehicles. • Check out the specially-designed 2022 ASICS/PGDC ‘Pirate Themed’ Race Weekend Gear in the ASICS/PGDC booth at the 8 On Your Side Health & Fitness Expo. • Play a game of Pickle Ball, presented by Ferman Automotive Group • Visit WFLA-TV 8, meet the On-Air Talent and hang out in the Great 38 Comfort Zone, presented by Rooms To Go. • Great 38 Comfort Zone Rooms To Go Furniture will be raffled off on Saturday afternoon. To ensure photo identification, please make sure your Race Number is pinned to the front of your shirt and visible at all times. USAA WARRIOR & MILITARY CHALLENGE
USAA MILITARY CHALLENGE
The Gasparilla Distance Classic Association and USAA take a great deal of pride in recognizing those that currently serve or have served in the U.S. Military. In 2009, USAA and the Association created the USAA WARRIOR CHALLENGE AWARD, a designation that on an annual basis, is awarded to the military branch that registers the most participants combined in the 15K, 5K, Half Marathon and/or 8K. In 2020, there were 1900 active, retired and former military personnel who

COVID-19 Vaccination Verification & COVID-19 Testing Instructions For 2022 PGDC Race Weekend A. COVID-19 VACCINATION VERIFICATION • When entering the Tampa Convention Center, please utilize the Franklin St. Entrance and proceed to Ballroom D. — Ballroom D is just inside the Franklin Street Entrance. • After entering Ballroom D, you’ll be directed to an open 2022 PGDC Verification Table. — Please have your COVID-19 Vaccination Card (or a photo of the card) and your Photo ID out and ready to show to the 2022 PGDC Verification Volunteer. • Upon verification, our volunteer will place a non-removable 2022 PGDC Verification Wristband on the arm of your choice. — Once on your arm, the verification wristband MUST NOT BE REMOVED UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR RUNNING EVENT(S)! — If removed, you will be required to complete the verification process again. — The verification wristband will be required for entering the 8 On Your Side Health & Fitness Expo and picking up your 2022 PGDC Race Number and applicable runner amenities. — Along with your assigned 2022 PGDC Race Number, the verification wristband will be required for entering all 2022 PGDC Race Start Corrals on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
B. COVID-19 NEGATIVE TEST VERIFICATION
• Already tested and have qualified COVID-19 Testing Results in hand or on your phone. — When entering the Tampa Convention Center, please utilize the Franklin St. Entrance and proceed to Ballroom D. — Ballroom D is just inside the Franklin Street Entrance – Directional Signage will be on display. • After entering Ballroom D, you’ll be directed to an open 2022 PGDC Verification Table. — Please have your qualified COVID-19 Negative Test and your Photo ID out and ready to show to the 2022 PGDC Verification Volunteer. — Proof of a qualified negative COVID-19 test means a printed document, email, or text message displayed on a phone from the healthcare provider, participating pharmacy, or testing site that provided the COVID-19 testing showing results of a (rapid antigen or PCR) COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours of Race Weekend, which is after 9 a.m. on Tues. Feb. 22, 2022. The printed document, email, or text message must include the person’s full name, type of test, date of the test, and qualified negative result. • U pon verification, our volunteer will place a non-removable 2022 PGDC Verification Wristband on the arm of your choice. — Once on your arm, the verification wristband MUST NOT BE REMOVED UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR RUNNING EVENT(S)! — If removed, you will be required to complete the verification process again. • The verification wristband will be required for entering the 8 On Your Side Health & Fitness Expo and picking up your 2022 PGDC Race Number and applicable runner amenities. • Along with your assigned 2022 PGDC Race Number, the verification wristband will be required for entering all 2022 PGDC Race Start Corrals on Saturday and Sunday mornings
C. NOT TESTED YET BUT EITHER PURCHASED A RAPID ANTIGEN TEST FROM THE GDCA OR BROUGHT A RAPID ANTIGEN TEST FOR TESTING BY THE ON-SITE LICENSED REGISTERED NURSE. UNTIL YOUR COVID-19 TEST RESULTS ARE IN AND NEGATIVE, A MASK WILL BE REQUIRED WHEN ENTERING THE CONVENTION CENTER AND WHILE IN MR 24.

With 680 registered participants, the U.S. Army was the recipient of the 2020 USAA Warrior Challenge Award with the U.S. Air Force close behind at 595 participants. The 2022 Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic Race Weekend will once again include an individual military competition in the 15K, 5K, Half Marathon and 8K. The USAA Military Challenge will be open to active, retired and former military personnel. PRE & POST-RACE MASSAGE
The Performance Massage Sports Massage Team will be providing Post-Race Massage after the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic 15K & 5K and Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon & 8K. On both mornings, the Team will offer 10-minute ($15) and 20-minute ($25) Post-Race Massages. Pre-paying for massage is closed. The Team will offer Pre-Race Massage during the 8 On Your Side Health & Fitness Expo on both Fri. and Sat. during Expo Hours. For more information, stop by the Performance Massage Sports Massage Team booth in the expo.
RACE WEEKEND TIMING, PRESENTED BY PUBLIX
Race participants will be timed utilizing the ChronoTrack B-Tag Timing System developed and designed with RFID–radio frequency identification. A timing tag will be placed on the back of each runner’s bib/race number and SHOULD NOT be removed. Transponder pads at the Start, Finish and along the race course will record the participant’s time for compiling the Tampa Bay Times Race Results. For immediate Post-Race Results, a personalized QR Code is on the front of all Race Bibs/Numbers. By scanning the QR Code (Smart Phone QR Code Reader app required), each finisher will receive their Start Times and Net Times, as well as any splits that were recorded.
RACE WEEKEND AID STATIONS PRESENTED BY ZEPHYRHILLS NATURAL SPRING WATER & GATORADE ENDURANCE • The 15K, 5K, Half Marathon & 8K will include (1) Start and (1) Finish Aid Station, as well as the following on-course Aid Stations:

PLEASE NOTE: If you intend to run the 15K AND 5K on Sat., Feb. 26, 2022, you must have registered and completed an entry form for each event. Unless you are running the Michelob Ultra Challenge, you will be issued a 15K Race Number AND a 5K Race Number. When running the 15K, you MUST wear your assigned 15K Race Number ONLY. Do not wear or carry your 5K Race Number. Before starting the 5K, YOU MUST remove your 15K Race Number and replace with your 5K Race Number. Because of the sensitivity of the Chrono Track Timing Device, wearing or carrying your 5K Race Number during the 15K or wearing or carrying your 15K Race Number during the 5K, WILL impact your Tampa Bay Times Race Results.

KELLOGG’S 5K STROLLER ROLL (NEW START LOCATION) Start Time: 9:40 a.m.
Kellogg’s 5K Stroller Roll participants will stage on Tampa Street, south of Brorein St. Stroller Roll participants should enter the staging area, (marked with Kellogg’s barricade signage) from barricade break on west side of Tampa Street. Once all of the Wave #8 runners have cleared the Start Area, the 5K Stroller Roll participants will be allowed access and walked to the ‘official’ 5K Start Line at Brorein & Franklin St. Stroller Roll registered participants should utilize Franklin St. to access the Staging Area on Tampa St. PLEASE NOTE: If kids in strollers are not wearing a Stroller Roll Race Number (or number isn’t affixed to baby stroller/jogger), upon crossing the Finish Line, they WILL NOT receive a Kellogg’s 5K Stroller Roll Finisher’s Medal. THIS IS NOT A RACE. FOR THE SAFETY AND ENJOYMENT OF ALL, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER WITH THE INTENT OF ANYTHING OTHER THAN A RELAXING 3.1 MILE WALK OR JOG WITH YOUR STROLLER AGE CHILDREN, FAMILY AND FRIENDS! KASHI 5K WALK
Start Time: 9:45 a.m. (51 min. & over) Kashi 5K Walkers will stage on Tampa Street, south of Brorein St. and behind the Kellogg’s 5K Stroller Roll Staging Area. Kashi 5K Walk participants should enter the staging area, (marked with Kashi barricade signage) from barricade break on west side of Tampa Street. Once all of the Stroller Roll participants have cleared the Start Area, Kashi 5K Walk registered participants will be allowed access and walked to the ‘official’ 5K Start Line at Brorein & Franklin St. Kashi 5K Walk participants should utilize Franklin St. to access the Staging Area on Tampa St. PLEASE NOTE: 2022 PGDC Registered Participants not wearing their 2022 PGDC COVID-19 Verification Wristband WILL NOT be allowed to access their Start Corral.

The sidewalk will allow easy access to the Finish Line Bleachers, that offer an awesome view of the Finish Line. • If the Finish Line Area is approached utilizing the sidewalks on the north side of Channelside/ Platt St. Bridge, you must use the Platt Street Bridge walk thru that’s located under the west end of the bridge or go back to the east end of the bridge and utilize Riverwalk.
