renfrew urban RECOVERY
This phenomenon of shrinkage of post-industrialised towns in Scotland has generated many derelict urban voids. These challenges create new demand for testing and experimenting with innovative pathways for urban heritage regeneration. How do we utilise the existing qualities of refrew for more a vibrant future?
THE CORNER GARDEN
THE "CORNER"
THE CORNER GARDEN's design consists of native greenery, polyvalent architectures and adaptive uses. This garden of memories is based on eco-design principles of remaking and repurposing. It is a community meeting point to explore the historical urban legacy from medieval times to nowadays and (2) offer an ecological and naturebased landscape solutions.
THE CORNER GARDEN represents A:
1. hub for urban heritage trails - guided site visits to
historical buildings
2. garden of memories 3. community meeting point - place for gathering
Phase 1: Co-design of corner garden & the panels of urban memories
Phase 2: Installation of the panels of urban memories including public event
Phase 3: The Screen of Remembrance (wall for temporary screening)
Phase 4: The Footpath (co-designed with the Trinity High School)
Phase 5: The Garden (only native flora)
