THE CORNER GARDEN’s design consists of native greenery, polyvalent architectures and adaptive uses. This garden of memories is based on eco-design principles of remaking and repurposing. It is a community meeting point to (1) explore the historical urban legacy of Rentrew from medieval times to nowadays and (2) offer an ecological and nature-based landscape solution to consolidate a distinctive “civic garden” by changing its existing hard paving into a softer and more breathable texture.
THE CORNER GARDEN is a bottom-up project of micro-landscape regeneration in underused sites. It contributes with a site-specific intervention by involving the local school, residential community, Trust and stakeholders. This public scape is made from adjustable modular components that can be moved anywhere depending on seasonal, events or spontaneous manifestations. It is a unique play-place for school children, which offers experiential learning and knowledge exchange outside conventional class.
