UNIT 3 My Place Jenny is studying in Harvard University to be a doctor. She has got her house there, but her home is in San Diego, California, because she lives there with her family. She feels comfortable in San Diego. She has her heart there. Read what she says. My mum is a decorator and my dad is a painter. So, they keep our home beautiful. It is very comfortable. It is nice to live here and I feel very happy. Our house is full of color and different styles. There are many pictures on the walls and books everywhere. It’s a perfect family house. Jennifer Lopez Jennifer was born on July 24, 1969, in the Bronx, New York. Her father, David, was a computer technician. Her mother, Guadalupe, was a kindergarten teacher. They are from Puerto Rico. Jennifer is the middle of three daughters. Her elder sister, Leslie, is a homemaker that sings opera, and her younger sister is a DJ. Jennifer started singing and dancing when she was five years old. She attended twelve years of Catholic school. In high school she played softball (a type of baseball) and tennis. After she finished high school, she worked in an office, but she continued dance classes at night. Jennifer always wanted to be a superstar, so in 1990 she moved to Los Angeles. Her first boyfriend was Cris Judd, a dancer that appeared in the video for her famous single “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” They got married in September 2001. Nine months later, they separated. VI. The House Jennifer Lopez’s New House Last year Jennifer Lopez, the Latino singer, and her husband Marc Anthony moved to their new home in Bel-Air. Bel-Air is a rich and famous residential community near the city of Los Angeles, California, where many famous singers and actors live. Jennifer and her husband live in a very large house with their 13-month-old twins Max and Emme. It has got five bedrooms, a studio, a swimming pool and beautiful gardens. But Jennifer has a special room: her hair room. It is where she keeps her wigs, because she loves to experiment with different looks and styles all the time.
