HNC Diploma Life Coaching Summary:

1 year full time

This qualification is for you if you are pursuing a career as a formal life coach to support clients to reflect on themselves and work towards their life goals; develop their health, happiness and well-being and use self-help resources and skills effectively. On completion of the level 4 Diploma in Life Coaching you will be qualified to practise as a life coach. This qualification is also highly useful to professionals working in health, education and social care.

Level 4 Certificate

Modules: Students will be studying a suite of units to demonstrate knowledge, skills and behaviours in seven mandatory learning outcomes (goals) including – • Work within an ethical framework for independent life coaching practice • Apply a relational approach to life coaching practice • Apply understanding of diversity to life coaching practice • Support clients to cope with life’s challenges and engage with opportunities to flourish • Apply learning from self-development to enhance life coaching practice • Apply a coherent body of knowledge and skills to enhance life coaching practice • Use reflective practice to develop and inform life coaching work.

Start date: May/September 2022

Assessments: Students will be required to complete a range of different assessments over the duration of the course including an external assessment. Students also need to have completed a minimum of 6 hours of personal life coaching and a minimum of 30 hours formally contracted life coaching.

Careers and further study: The Level 4 course in life coaching provides learners with the knowledge, skills and techniques to work as an independent life coach. On completion of the level 4 Diploma in Life Coaching you will be qualified to practise as a life coach. This qualification is also highly useful to professionals working in health, education and social care.

Entry criteria • Learners must be 19 years or older at enrolment. • Learners must hold evidence of having completed a Level 3 course in coaching, counselling or equivalent. • Learners must be able to evidence completion of Level 2 English and Maths. All candidates will be interviewed prior to offer of a place and will need to complete a fitness to study questionnaire. Please note this course is subject to validation. International applicants must satisfy the minimum English requirements as published on the College website and updated periodically (currently IELTS 6.0 or equivalent with minimum 5.5 in each of the four components).
