Play nature-based games and activities along the trails. Choose from five exciting party themes: Bug Bonanza, Wild Things, Eco-Explorer, Feathered Friends, or Scavenger Hunt! Bring the whole family to enjoy this classic 1989 science fiction flick that tells the story of an inventor who accidentally shrinks his and his neighbor’s kids to a quarter of an inch with his electromagnetic shrinking machine! Captain Aesop’s All-Star Galaxy Games ~ Puppet Show ~ Sunday, September 11 4 PM Millbrook Marsh Nature Center Get ready to cheer for puppets from distant planets! Adam’s Swartz Puppets presents “Captain Aesop’s All-Star Galaxy Games,” an original, interactive show for all ages. Unique creatures of all kinds will need your help as they exercise their bodies, minds, and feelings in a variety of cosmic challenges based on Aesop’s Fables. Perseverance, sportsmanship, and of course imagination will be put to the test! Only $5 per person – Kids 4 & under are free!

• One dog per owner; owners must be age 18+ and are responsible for their dog’s behavior. All minors (age 17 and under) must be accompanied by an adult. •Dogs must remain on-leash when not using the pools.
• Prior to admission, all human entrants must sign a Release Waiver and show proof of rabies vaccination and proof of a current dog license for their pet. • Only dogs are permitted in the pool. Lifeguards will be on duty to provide any necessary assistance. Event is held rain or shine, will be cancelled for thunder. • The net proceeds from this event will be used to purchase and plant trees at Oak Hall Regional Park and to provide recreation scholarships to youth. Bicycle safety bicycle “Street skills” Course
Class designed for participants of all abilities who want to increase their comfort and confidence when cycling on city streets. We start in the classroom, where we learn the rules of the road including where to ride, basic traffic principles, how to safely change lanes, how to avoid common road hazards, and more. Then we move outside to work with a certified instructor on skill drills in a traffic-free environment to employ the strategies we just learned in a short open road session. Puddle Jumpers
A Nature Program for Preschoolers at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center
Supplement your preschooler’s experience with nature and learning! Puddle Jumpers mixes outdoor exploration with fundamental learning through hands-on experiences at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center! This drop off program offers 3-hour sessions of nature learning for kids ages 3-5, including unstructured, imaginative exploration, and structured, hands-on learning. Kids should bring a snack each day and dress for the weather. Each session is different, so sign up for all three! We’re diving right in to the squishy, splashy, mucky and messy projects that every child loves. These activities embrace a child’s delight in tactile experiences of finger (and toe!) painting, paper mache, slime making, plus seasonal favorites like pumpkin painting or carving. Youth programs - School AGe Youth Baseball Clinic This clinic teaches young participants the correct mechanics for throwing and hitting a baseball in order to prevent injuries later in their baseball careers. Instructor, Ethan Zucker, is a student at Penn State University who played varsity baseball at his high school and then played for the CGI Braves for 4 years. Designed for children to develop a comfort level in the water as well as a readiness for learning how to swim. Children also receive an introduction into basic swimming skills.
Designed for children just beginning swim lessons who may be uncomfortable in the water. At successful completion of level 1, child is able to submerge face, float with support, kick with support, and demonstrate very basic water safety skills.
Prerequisite: Preschool or Level 1 with no fear of the water. At successful completion, child is able to submerge and retrieve objects, do a prone float, glide, back float/glide, bob 10 times, perform an “easy” stroke on back and front, turn over and demonstrate basic water safety skills.
Prerequisite: Level 2 or equivalent. At completion, child is able to bob 15 times, jump into deep water, dive from a kneeling position, demonstrate 10 yards of front and back crawl, demonstrate elementary backstroke kick and demonstrate basic water safety skills.
Prerequisite: Level 3 or equivalent. At successful completion, child is able to demonstrate a standing front dive, elementary backstroke, front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and sidestroke kicks, tread water, and water safety skills.
Prerequisite: Level 4 or equivalent. At successful completion, child is able to demonstrate 50 yards of front crawl and back crawl, 10 yards of breaststroke and sidestroke, 25 yards of elementary backstroke, butterfly kick, turns, diving from board and water safety skills.
CRPR Aquatic Program Policies • Classes fill quickly; registration for sequential classes cannot be guaranteed. • Classes are held as scheduled except during electrical storms and facility closings. • Please note that make-up sessions for all youth aquatic classes that are canceled will be scheduled at the same time on the Friday following the canceled class. • It is recommended that participants for more than one program enroll at the same skill level (except Preschool) until the first class level is satisfactorily completed. • Only lesson participants are permitted on the pool deck. Parents and guests must remain in the waiting area.

Learn to dive or refine your skills! This class teaches basic diving skills & helps to improve the skills that you have. • One dog per owner; owners must be age 18+ and are responsible for their dog’s behavior. All minors (age 17 and under) must be accompanied by an adult. •Dogs must remain on-leash when not using the pools. • Prior to admission, owners must sign a Release Waiver and show proof of rabies vaccination and proof of a current dog license for their pet. • Only dogs are permitted in the pool. Lifeguards will be on duty to provide any necessary assistance. Event is held rain or shine, will be cancelled for thunder. • The net proceeds from this event will be used to purchase and plant trees at Oak Hall Regional Park and to provide recreation scholarships to youth. CRPR Authority Seeks Food Concessionaires for Softball Complexes in 2017! Each year, the CRPR Authority seeks food vendors to provide services at the John Hess Softball Complex and Oak Hall Regional Park during the summer season. Between 1520 weekend tournaments at Oak Hall and 10 at the John Hess Complex are expected to be scheduled between May and October 2017. CRPR Remembrance Trees . . A “Branch” of the Gifts-For-Parks Program The CRPR Remembrance Tree Program enables donors to honor special people or events in their lives and our community by adding shade trees in Centre Region parks each Spring. Since the Remembrance Tree Program began in 1994, funds for planting 431 trees have been donated for Centre Region municipal parks. Volunteers from the United Way’s Day of Caring work on improvement projects across Centre County each year. No special skills are required, just a willingness to lend a hand! CRPR has hosted Day of Caring volunteers for many years which provided much needed assistance at our parks and facilities. REFUND POLICY • If a refund request is made at least 7 calendar days prior to the start of the program / camp week, a full refund (less a $5 processing fee) is provided for the program. • If a refund request is due to injury or illness after a program starts, a prorated refund is provided (a doctor’s excuse may be required). • If a program or class is canceled, a prorated refund or credit is provided.
