Thank You!
We also want to spend a moment and thank all of the people around the university who have contributed to the success of this transition to Workday. It has been a huge accomplishment, one that is almost too big for words, and one that will serve us well, far into the future. THANK YOU!
Also, a big thanks to YOU for your patience and understanding as we navigate this substantial university-wide change.

HONORING A LIFELONG COMMITMENT: JOHN MIHEVIC WINS THE CARL WIRTHWEIN AWARD
Rhett Butler
The Carl Wirthwein award is given to an individual every year who has significantly contributed to high school swimming and diving in Ohio. The recipient must be nominated by an executive board member and then voted upon by the entire board. In 2024, John Mihevic was awarded that prestigious honor. John has been working in and around high school swimming and diving for over 30 years. First as a swimmer, then as a coach, then a facility manager at Akron and Miami, and has continued to work at The Ohio State Swimming and Diving championships since 1990. He has served as the Director of the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center since 2006.
When John isn’t working at the pool, he enjoys smoking up some Texas barbecue back home with his family. He also hosts the famous Chili Cookoff Competition every year at the Rec Center, which he has won multiple times. And no, he is not manipulating the votes, because I personally served as a judge this past year. The brisket chili was excellent.
When asked about what he enjoys most about his job, John said, “Working with the students…Miami has always attracted very high caliber students. Each year getting a new group of first year students and watching them grow and flourish here at Miami is always a joy. Seeing them graduate and then come back and tell us stories about something that has stuck with them over the years is always the best.”

Miami Grind Rebrand
MIAMI GRIND REBRAND
Miami Grind coffee was rebranded during spring FY24 to align with new Miami Brand Standards.
Miami University's signature coffee blend has a new look. Miami Grind has been served in Miami's dining operations since 2017 as well as available for purchase in the markets on campus. This summer, Miami Dining Services and FBS Marketing collaborated on a redesign of the coffee packaging. You can find it on the shelves in Brick & Ivy, Emporium, and Market Street at MacCracken for $12. Or get a piping hot cup in any of the dining commons or Pulley Diner.
This update continues to build on the partnership with Rooted Grounds to create a signature coffee blend exclusively for Miami University, selected by the students.
Miami Grind coffee is a collaboration between Miami University and Rooted Grounds. They are an alumni owned creator of small batch coffee in West Chester, Ohio.
