In THIS PHOTO, THE LIGHTING WAS NATURAL LIGHTING FROM THE SUN, THIS LIGHT WAS DEFUSED BY THE CLOUDS- THE DIRECTION OF THIS LIGHTING WAS BEHIND THE CAMERA, CREATING A DIM DIFFUSED LIGHTING WHICH LOOKED GOOD. THE WAY THE LIGHT FALLS ONTO THE OBJECTS CREATE A TEXTURE OF ROUGHNESS TO THE OBJECTS. TO CREATE A SHARP DETAIL TO THESE PHOTOS I USED THE APERTURE ON MY LENS TO CREATE THIS SHARPNESS IN THE PHOTOS. TO MAKE THESE PHOTOS INTERESTING I TOOK THESE PHOTOS FROM EYE LEVEL.
I TOOK ONE PHOTO FROM A LOW ANGLE TO CREATE A SENSE OF BEING LOOKED DOWN ON- TO REPRESENT THE IDEA OF THE MEDIA AND HOW IT CREATES IF someone’s NOT THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE THAT THEY SHOULD BE LOOKED DOWN UPON. I USED COLOUR TO GIVE A SENSE OF MOOD IN THE PHOTOS, ALSO THESE COLOURS ATTRACT THE VIEWER TO LOOK AROUND THE PHOTO. THESE PHOTOS I DECIDED TO SET MY SHUTTER AT 1 SECOND TO GET A NUMBER OF PHOTOS OF HER MOVING AROUND TO THEN BE ABLE TO GET A NATURAL SHOT OF HER MOVING, AND THEN THE LIGHTING WAS CHANGING SO WANTED TO GET A GOOD LIGHTING TO CHOSE FROM.

IN THIS PHOTO THE LIGHTING WAS BLOCKED AND DEFUSED BY THE LOW ROOF IN THE GARAGE. THIS DIM
LIGHTING CREATED A REAL MOOD TO THE PHOTO. BY THE LIGHTING BEING DIMMED IT CREATED THE TEXTURE IN THE PHOTO TO BE SOFT. AS THERE WAS A SOFT FOCUS CREATED IN THE PHOTO THERE IS LESS SHARPNESS AND CLARITY IN THE PHOTO, IN THIS PHOTO I OPENED UP MY LENS- APERTURE TO CREATE MORE SHARPNESS IN THE PHOTO BUT SOFTER EDGES SELECTING THE FOCUS ON THE MODEL. THE ANGLE FROM WHERE I TOOK THE PHOTO, I POINTED THE CAMERA LOOKING UP AND THE MODEL FOR THE VIEWER TO HAVE A POINT OF VIEW MAKING THIS PHOTO MORE INTERESTING. I WANTED THE VIEWER TO FEEL SMALL LIKE THEY ARE LOOKING UP AT THE MODEL. FRAMING THIS PHOTO I DID THIS BY NOT INCLUDING THE BACKGROUND OBJECTS INTO THE PHOTO, I WANTED THE SPACE TO BE FILLED UP BY THE MODEL IN THE PHOTO, FRAMING THE MODEL IN A WAY, SO THE FOCUS IS ON HER. I USED COLOUR TO CREATE A MOOD, ALSO USING THESE COLOURS WOULD ALSO MOVE THE EYE AROUND THE COMPOSITION CREATING A SENSE OF FLAT SURFACE. THESE COLOURS IN THESE PICTURES ARE STRONG AND BOLD- CREATING AN INTENSE FEEL TO THE PHOTO. TIMING THIS PHOTO WAS HARD, I NEED TO GET A GOOD LIGHTING TO ENSURE THE PHOTO WOULD LOOK EFFECTIVE, SELECTING A 1 SECOND SHUTTER SPEED ALLOWED ME TO TAKE A NUMBER OF THESE PHOTOS AND TO DECIDE WHAT ONE LOOKED BEST.

story telling
This photo is abstract, this is because there are shapes and lines which are abstract. To get this photo I placed myself at a low angle to get the whole model in and to show the location around her. I enhanced the colours and clarity to enhance the objects around the model. What interested me most about this photo is the way she is positioned and the colours that all compliment each-other in this photo, I’ve really enhanced this to show the dull but interesting colours in the photo. The objects bring the photo alive, it makes you feel like your in the picture. What I’ve learnt from doing this is how different angles can enhance the colours and patterns of the picture.

These photos were taken with natural lighting directly behind my camera this created a dark dimmed lighting which has worked well to create clarity and definition in the photos, I like how the photos have come out, the lighting has created sharpness to the photos it creates the photo and the objects around it seem rough. This creates a massive focus on the model and what is around her attracting the viewer to look around and observe what is going on.
I wanted the model to be standing in the same place but for The camera to move around, I took a number of different angles of the model standing there to allow the viewer to different angles of the same photo. These photos create a dark mood which reflects on the idea of this body image and how media perceives perfection with beauty, its sad which is why I specificity used this colours to express the darkness.
photoshop-
body image media
obscuritĂŠ This photo is one of my favourite photos because I like how the lighting is directly on one of side of her
face, and reflecting a shadow on the other side, this lighting adds a real texture on her face, it adds more clarity and detail on her face. I wanted this to represent the idea of being perfect is not beauty, I wanted to have the not so perfect background in the photo to show this. I took this photo from a high angle for the viewer to feel as they are looking down on the model. In the photos below the lighting was defused by the low roof this creates a real element of darkness in the photo, it adds detail and sharpness to the photo which I like, having this lighting creates more of a dark mood to the photo, reflecting on the mood of the model.
camera raw edits-
In this photo I took it from the wall, it makes the photo Come from an different angle from the different photo’s, it is a middle shot where it is close enough to see the sion of the model but far enough to see the location in which the model is. This effects the way the viewer will cause it looks like someone has sneaked up on her to take the photo, it doesn’t look like a planned shot. What intere The photograph reminds me of woodland area the colours are very dark like under a tree. There are patterns and textures in the background making it feel like were in the photo. What I love about this photo is that you just don’t know what is happening in this photo, like why is she there? What is the story behind it I find that intriguing.
If I was put in this photo I would feel confused on where I am and think is effective about this photo is the angle it is taken at, it creates which makes the colours stand out but the I think other people would interpret this picture differently , I reckon m

evaluation
I’m choosing to evaluate my favourite photo which is the
one on the left. In this photo I like the angle view it is taken at and I like the colours and lighting in the photo, they all create a dark mood to the photo, this is a photo which I think most represents the story I am telling. The colours represent how dark the feel to it is, I wanted the photo to be dark to represent the darkness and sad that the painting the media paint of what is perfect. My aim was for the focus to be on the model, to do this I made sure that I framed the model in most pictures to do this I made sure most of the space in the photo was filled up with the model, doing this made it look like the picture was framed, I wanted to do this to represent the idea of perfection framed- like a photo being taken in a fashion magazine. I think this angle view I took this photo it helps with the composition of the photo, it creates less area not filled with the model, creating a framed view of the photo. The lighting of this photo was natural lighting but blocked from the fence this created a darkened lighting, this added clarity and sharpness to the photo which worked well with creating a mood to the photo. In this photo I see a girl model, it is taken at a high up level, making me feel like I am look down on the model. I can see loads of objects around her, they look really rough, the whole picture has texture of roughness to it has a lot of detail. The colours in the photo are very dark and all link to one colour of brown- colour. The words I would use to describe this photograph would be - clutter -Craziness -Perfection -Beauty -Darkness
Theirs a girl standing in the frame of the photo, she has fashionable clothes on and it looking up away from the camera, her hair is ruffled up and her hand is resting on her hip, she is standing in a garage full of clutter- there’s a toilet covered in plastic a surf board leaning on the background of the wall, a umbrella lying on the floor, another surf board hanging from the sealing. And leaves so many leaves and dirty cardboard covering the floor. This photo is abstract, as this photo is non-objective, it is depicting a visual image that doesn’t have a association with the object world, I created this photo from my camera equipment, and processed and further developing the photo makes this photo abstract. In this photo I recognize the objects around her, I can sort off make out what they all are, but what new to me is the fact that they are all placed in one place, all these objects that I know that are all different and all known, are put in an unknown place which is new to me, and what new to me is that there all put together in one place.
Main aim of photo shoot- To represent my story through my photos, giving clues and showing my story throughout my shoot for the audience to then know what I’m trying to show in my shoot.

Aperture range(f numbers)- in the aperture i ranged my f numbers from f4-f12
ISO- In the shoot i ranged this fro, 100350.
Light source- in the shoot there is no lighting- it was set in a natural lighting. But was dark as the sunlight was covered.
MY CHOSEN THEME IS:Story telling MY PHOTOS HOOT IDEAS ARE: Literal idea: is a shoot of a girl who is representing a girl at the age of 17 living in Ascot I am taking a number of shots in a dirty old garage, but dressing the model up. Technical idea: the lighting I will be doing the shoot in will be natural, but as its in a confined area this will be dark natural light- I will take a different range of angles, I want to get different angles to get different angles of the photo, but most will be eye level. Symbolic idea: the idea was to set it in a garage with rubbish and clutter so its dirty I wanted this to be controversial to the actual idea of what girls are like in this society, how they care so much about how they look. My idea is to show what matters most to them? And to show this through my photos. This shoot was to show that not everything has to be perfect to be beautiful and to fit into our society. Because in these photos beauty is shown in not a perfect location. Photo shoot evaluation What was successful? I liked how the close up pictures came out, there my favourite I like how the background is shown well in these close-ups but they are the main focus is on the model representing the idea of beauty. What didn’t work and why? Some photos because was set in a naturally dark location came out quite dark making it hard to edit and for the photos to be seen. What needs to be changed for the re-shoot? In the re-shoot I could maybe make the story more clear, from these pictures people might find it hard to know what I’m trying to tell, maybe next time I could make the model in the same clothes to show the different angles in the photo but her looking the same it might be confusing why she changed outfits.

WILLIAM HENRY FOX TALBOT
Fox Talbot was born on 11 February 1800 in Dorset. In 1832 he was elected MP for Chippenham, 1833 he visited Lake Como in Italy, he was finding it hard to sketch the scenery around him which gave him the idea to make a new machine with light sensitive paper that could sketch the scenery for him, when he went back to England he then went further with this idea and began to work on the project at home - in Lackock Abbey. Thomas Wedgwood had already created photo-grams before him, this was of silhouettes of leaves and objects he found around him, he found that these pictures would fade. Then Joseph Nicephore, in 1827 produced pictures of bitumen, then in January 1839, Louis Daguerre showed his ‘Daguerreotypes’ which is his pictures displayed on silver plates to the French science academy. Three weeks after this Talbot then showed his ‘art of photogenic drawing’ to the royal society, this was from prints on a piece of light sensitive paper. He went to develop the three primary elements of photography: developing, fixing and printing. Exposing the photo paper to light produced an image, the process time was very long. One day he was experimenting and realised that a image was processed after a short period of time, although the image was negative, he found that with chemicals he could then develop the image, the chemicals removed the light sensitive silver and allowed the picture to be seen in light. He called this process the ‘CALOTYPE’ patented this process in 1841,following his idea one an medal from the royal society.

Fran Foreman studied art and sociology as a undergraduate at Bradneis University, she also worked a bit working with heroin addicts. She then discovered she could make a living out of art. She has successfully created branding, printing for corporate, arts and retail establishments. She created personal art with her illustrative and photography skills she really is interested into surrealism, paradox, illusion, assemblage and dislocations of time and place. She focuses her work on escape she is an escape artist. In her collection of her photo paintings, she creates characters and scenes, like a visual narrative, which all comes from her imagination. Her art work explores the many meanings of escape, she wants to focus on the idea of escaping and ‘breaking through the normal barriers of life’. In the photos many of the characters are floating or rowing away, this I think represents the idea of the character is escaping the world behind it. Fran ‘invites us to ask ourselves what realities exist beyond the traditional limits of gravity, linear time and social convention’ I like her idea and how she represent it through her work it is really interesting, the photos are weird which I like. She has created in each photo a different way of escaping the photo, my favourite is the boy with wings- it tells me that this boy has the chance to escape and has the opportunity to but he’s not escaping its more of a meaning to it.

These are my panorama photos, in the cloisters room I thought a panorama would create a feel like when looking at this photo it would make you feel as your in the room. Doing a panorama allows me to fit more of the scenery into one photo. These photos are my favourite because I like the lighting it is in, the light is blocked from the walls, but there is some light bursting through which look good. In this photo because the lighting is dimmed this creates texture to the photo and creates a lot of detail on the cloisters, there is a real rough texture to the photo. In this photo the light bursting through creates a real focus to that section in the photo. I took this photo from a low angle, taking it from a low angle makes the viewer seem to be like they are looking up at the photo. When taking this photo I selected the frame well and wanted there to be that specific section in the frame, I composed this well for then the viewers attention to the subject of the photo. In this photo, I wanted it to be viewed in colour and black and white, I wanted to show the different in colours and the difference in detail in both colour, or black and white. When taking this photo I needed to wait to take it at the right timing of where the sun wasn’t shining directly at the camera and blocking the photo correctly but timing just the right amount of light bursting in through the holes of the cloisters.

I took a series of photos of views through a doorway and chose the abbey bathroom taking this photo from the doorway, I did this to show a different angle and to show a different perception of the picture. Also took a picture of the architecture from the outside as I found the building has started to rott and faded in colour adding a lot of texture and interest to the building. I took a picture of the chair in the abbey house as I really found the pattern and design interesting and unique.

sepherize photo- in this photo the light is directly shining from high up to the leaf, this lighting is natural, because the light is directly pointing at the leaf, there is shadows created in the picture, making it black and white creates there to be more detail in the photo, it creates more texture to the photo, you can see the lines and the roughed curved edges on the leaf. In this photo the angle I have taken it at is high up, this creates a focus to the inside section of the leaf, I like this picture because the flower is curved inwards this looks like there’s a dark hole falling in. This picture is curved in a way because of the curves of the flower it ends at a certain point around the frame, in a way framing it. I decided to make the colour of this photo black and white because it shows more detail to the patterns in the photo. Taking this photo at the right time created the sunlight to be pointing directly at the leaf creating a good shadow effect on the photo. Sepia photo- In this photo the light is directly pointing at the camera, this picture looks good because it focuses more on the flower climbing up the wall. The lighting is directly pointing at it creating a dimmed lighting which looks good because it adds detail to the photo and adds texture to the flowers of the photo, also the angle it is taken at creates more detail and focus on the wall, there’s a real rough texture to the photo. I took this photo from a low angle looking up it creates the viewer to feel as if there small and looking up, when I look at this picture it feels as if I’m looking up and the trees are above me. Taking this photo at the right timing meant the lighting was directly pointing at the camera, it made the sky go white which creates a border around the photo, it also adds more focus to the flowers falling down.
EVULATION- LEVEL 2 This picture was taken in the abbey house, this photo is one of my favourites because I like the dimmed lighting in the room, and the colours in the room, I like how the photo is framed from the door, and like the angle it is taken at. What equipment, techniques and processes have been used to make the image? To take this photo I used a camera I set the shutter speed to 1300 seconds to be able to get a number of different photos and to be able to decide which one I wanted, I set the ISO to 150 and the aperture to f4, setting my camera to these settings allowed me to get this picture and capture the lighting and the right angle at this time. The angle I took this at was eye level because I wanted the viewer to also look at it from an eye level, to get the whole image in, I rotated my camera landscape because I felt that if I rotated it in this way it would fit the whole image in and I think the image suited this angle of taking the photo. The process of this was enhancing the clarity and dimming the lighting and colours, doing this process enhanced the objects and shadows in the photo which I really like and was aiming for. This photo reminds me of an old abandoned house, there’s not much light and life to the photo suggesting it has been abandoned for a long time. In this photo there aren’t obvious lines, but in the photo I can see the lines from the textures of the objects in the room, the wall has lines going across, this creates texture to the photo. The shapes in the photo that catch my attention is the shapes of the shadows, I really like how the shapes of the objects are then reflected on the shadows. The colours are toned down and darkened which I wanted to emphasise the idea of the place being abandoned. The lighting and by my enhancing the clarity in the photo makes the objects in the photo stand out, and create a lot of texture of the patterns in the photo. In this photo I wanted to capture the light shining in to capture the shadows of the objects, to do this I set my shutter speed so that I could be able to capture the play of light in the photo. This photo is different from real life, because real life you would see a brand new bathroom all done up, bright and lively where you can tell people are using it, maybe in a family home. But this picture captures the abandonment of this bathroom, and the sadness of it being abandoned and left. This photography work interests me because I like the difference in the type of photos I have taken in this level. This level I have introduced different types of photography but used the artists I have been learning about and they have helped influence my own work and ideas.
Main aim of photo shoot- the aim of these photos was to explore our basic knowledge of photography and to learn more about the history behind photography. exploring the life of Fox talbot- developng the camera and the dark rooms materials, looking at his first photographs and how his first photos inspired photographers to this day. looking at different techniques and how photos can be developed.

What didn’t work and why? my cloisters photos came out dark, i didnt like them i think it was because it was dark but there was light bursting through the wholes which the camera got effected and made some photos fuzzy. What needs to be changed for the reshoot? if i were to do another shoot, taking more photos in the cloisters room would of been good, getting different shots in there could of looked better- adjusting my camera settings would of allowed me to do this.

this is pinhole photography- this is a type of way of taking a photo, this is taken with a small aperture, this is a light proof box which has a small hole pierced in the side to allow the capture of light from the scenery i have picked, the light from the scnery will pass through a ertain point and the image will then be printed on the opposite side of the can. when i found the scenery i wanted to take a picture of, i took the dark tape off to operate the shutter. this then allowed the light to enter and for the image to then be printed on the photo paper. we did this to show the different way a photo can be taken- showing the different techiques we can do, this was my first ettempt which is good for a firt attempt, if i were to take more i could do different scenery’s to further develop this technique, after taking this photo i then further developed the image by adding explosure to enhancing the detail in the photo.

Why?in this photo, i like how in this photo, the lighter less obvious bits of the photo are now brighter and more of the focus in the photo, in the photo before it was quite a boring photo with brighter places and it didnt look that good, with the colour overlay it has made the photo look much more interesting and apealing to the eye.

MY CHOSEN THEME IS:story
telling
MY PHOTOSHOOT IDEAS ARE: Literal idea: my idea is to have a 17 year old girl model and her friend, dressed up with nice clothes, big makeup and big hair emphasizing the fact that she focuses more on the way she looks. I’m going to get her to be sat at the table eating glitter covered vegetables representing the chemicals she puts inside her body. It might look good like she’s eating healthy but is it really? To represent the fact she doesn’t care what’s going inside her because that not shown. Worrying to much what people would think. Then going to take a series of photos of her in a corner shop buying food, they will be looking at the labels checking for calories and fat% showing how much they care. Because she is around people that will be judging her so she needs to act up to what she wants people to see rather than what she actually wants. Technical idea will be taking a series of photos at different angles. I want there to be a range of close ups and wide shots, these angles will show a number of different angles at viewing these photos and what the model is doing. In the room there will be more of wide shots because I would like to get a wide picture of what she is doing, and introducing the model to the viewer. Then in the car there will be more close ups as it will make the viewer feel like there travelling with the model, and it will allow them to notice that the seatbelt isn’t on. Then in the shop I want to get angles of side of the isle, so that the isle gets smaller, I will do a lot of long shots because I think that will look good in the shops, making the colours and lighting a focus. Symbolic idea: this shoot symbolise the idea of how much a girls living in this society at the age of 17 in Ascot, cares so much about her body image and how she is looked upon by others. Cultural idea: this shoot links in and effects me because I know, from coming from a girl that 17 living in Ascot, I know what its like how people judge you and expect you to be. So I want to represent this throw my work.
Photo shoot evaluation What was successful? This shoot I found successful, I planned it well and represented my story well throughout the photos I have taken. Showing the viewer what I want to tell, showing them the message in my photos. What didn’t work and why? What didn’t work well was some photos the lighting created it to be dark, as there was natural lighting and no light, it could create shadows on the photos and some came out fussy and dark from not having enough light. What needs to be changed for the re-shoot? In the re-shoot, I shall be turning flash on when taking the photos, the photos which when I turned flash on came out better than the ones that I didn’t, also I might change the model to someone blonde, to represent the idea of society and how we all have to be the same. I might make this more clear in when doing my re-shoot.

Individual copies- these are three of my favourite photos from the shoot, these photos are original copies of the photos I then further on developed. These are my favourite as I like the angle these are taken at. And I think they really show the story of what I am trying to tell- which is what matters most to a girl in this society- these photos really tell how body image matters so much to them.

this is one of my photos from my photo-shoot for level 4. in this photo-shoot my aim was to represent my story through these photographs. my aim is to show how society is in the day in age.’ what matters most to a girl in this society, the impact of media in there life’s, how body image is such a big factor in there life, how they all need to fit in - being the same will make them fit in, this is why i did there makeup the same to emphasis this point. also i used the vegetables to represent how they care so much about being the same size’ as these models in magazines and the media. i made the vegetables glittery to show how much garbage the media feed us, they make it look good and perfect but when really its not that great.
in this photo i wanted the focus to be on the model i separated the model to take photos of them to present the point that on there own they can be seen completely different . and wanted the viewer to sympathise with the model, doing a close up like this and doing it from this angle creates a real empathy in this photo.
what
matters?
in the photo there are many lines and patterns, in the background i like the colour link between the model clothing and the backgroundcould mean she’s fading into the background it could have a meaning behind it. in this photo i like the colours as these colours are bright but faded down , i also added a tint of green to the photo to help enhance the colours on her jumper
and on the background. in this photo i have enhanced the sharpness to enhance the lighting that is captured in this photo. it has captured the shadows created from the light which i like in this photo. i got the model to use the space around her, i wanted to fill the space around her to emphasis the focus on her as a model. what i think that is effective about this photo is the use of lighting in the photo- and the use of space i like how the photograph has little space it seems like she’s coming out of the photo. my aim was to show the viewer the emotion through the model, doing it at this angle allowed more emotion to be represented in the photo. this photo was mainly to represent the question of ‘what matters ?
society

in this photo i got the models to eat a plate of vegetables to represent how media will show these skinny girls like we all have to look up to this and be the same, and eating healthy will mean we will loose weight and be skinny like these girls. i put glitter over the vegetables to show that what media feed us is just rubbish, these girls are skinny from them editing them and making them skinny. i wanted them to be looking away from the food there eating to show how there not interested they just to do it to fit in. in this photo i took it from a high angle to represent how small things matter, making them small- representing how small these things actually matter. what interests me most about this photo is the colours- there are a range of unusual colours enhanced and i like how i used the link of the colours- the blue to then enhance this by putting a tint of blue on. to enhance the colours more.

this shoot i wanted to do on the sofa to emphasise the i they look like. to take this photo i had to take this fro gle to get a close up angle of the models. Taking this p lighting- creating a nice light effect on the photo. In around them to represent the aim of my shoot. I think th is looking away like she not interested and one is lookin one cares more on what one thinks. As a camera i wanted t
idea of how ‘nothing matters’ they focus mainly on what om a low angle- i wanted to get this photo from a low anphoto from this angle enabled me to capture the natural these photos i wanted to use the space- and the objects hat this picture is effective because one of the models ng directly at the camera- maybe telling the story of how to capture the idea of media and how it captures beauty.

When taking these photos i wanted to have the models infront of the window frame to represent them like there in a frame.- Emphasising the fact of being in the spotlight of media- like a frame. Emotionconnection is words i would use to describe this photo as there is a lot of feeling and emotion in this photo, in this second photo one model the same model is looking away i got her to do this to show she maybe less connected to the media maybe she could be different, whereas the other model is more influenced by the media - more connected. techniques i used in taking these photos are i used zoom to then get more of a closer up angle of the photo. I then enhanced the sharpness of these photos .
I like these photos, because i wanted to put these photos together to show the different angles of one photo. The space in this photo i used a lot, i like how the models are placed in the dip of the room, it creates more of an interest in the background of the photo- it also creates more of a focus on the models. I like how the models look serious in the first photo and then moves into another position in the second. It makes it look like a film in a kind of way. I like how the second photos link they look good together as they have the same kind of colour and texture to the photos. If i took it from the same angle and then zoomed in from that angle it might of looked better , i could do this for my re-shoot.

This photo is one of my favourites as it really represents the story I’m trying to show through my photos, but i think this one really does. I got them eating vegetables to represent the media painting this view that we need to be skinny and perfect. This photo was taken at a low angle as i thought it would look effective, i like how the lighting is peeping through and reflects onto the table it adds more lines to the photo. It adds reflection in the photo and shadows which makes it look very effective. Also i positioned the model sitting down to look like a robot to show how the media want us all to be the samelike robots- she has no emotion, which i wanted to represent this idea. The bit in this photo that strikes me most in this photo is the colour, i like how all the colours are dark and browny, it creates more of a focus on the models as there brightly coloured, and the objects around them are bright. It adds more of an focus onto them and they way they are positioned.

This is one of my favourite photos from the shoot, it together. I like how its at the same location but a tions. The first picture i got them both to look dire to look away i think this makes both photos look eff copying each-other there the same, representi

evalutation level 4 Interpret it. What title would you give to this photograph? ‘Perfect’ What made you decide on that title? Checking calorie intake the labels on food to make sure were not consuming anything that is going to make us fatis not being fat ‘perfect’ who decided that being skinny makes us perfect. What other titles could we give it? ‘Is this beauty’ is this beauty- fake, make up and hair done is this beauty? Who decided that because that person has make up on they are beautiful? The media painted this view which has influenced our society to have this view. What do you think is going on in this picture? I think in this picture the characters are looking at labels on content in the foods in the shop- checking whether there’s loads of calories. How did you arrive at that idea? Looking at the photo you can see one of the models picking up a bottle and looking at the label suggesting this idea.
What do you think this photograph is about? I think its about how much a girl in this society cares about how she looks and how people view her. How did you come up that idea? In all these photos there all link into how the characters lives are effected by what they eatand what they do to fit in to this society. Pretend you are inside this photograph. What does it feel like? It makes me feel sad, i look around and can see how badly they want to fit in, and how much they care what people think. Why do you suppose the artist made this photograph? To show this point and idea they have. What makes you think that? From the photos i have takeni want to show this idea through them. What do you think it would be like to live in this photograph? I do live in this photo, this is what is going on in this society, What makes you think that? This is why i have created this to show how media influences so much.

LITERAL In the photo I see a lady’s face, her hands are reaching up to her face, the picture is black and white but so photo have been cut off and replaced with brightly coloured shapes. There is also a bar code labelled onto could have a meaning. Half of her face is cut and blocked by a women’s arm pointing to the left and then pointing to the right, the man hand is bigger and more dominating this could have a meaning to it.
I think the photographer added colour onto her to create more attention on her, she is the focus of the photo, adding more to her to represent getting the attention of the buyers. I think he made the male hand bigger and take up more room to represent the dominance of him, they have created a shadow effect on his arm which could represent someone shadowing her.
TECHNICAL To create this photo he had to get the right lighting on each aspect of the photos, he obviously individually took the separate photos to then put them all together. For the women face you can see the light is directly pointing at the women face, to create a bright picture, I noticed this from the shining reflection in the eye of the model. The women hand looks like the light was pointing away from the models arm creating a dimmed lighting, it is very dark, where as the man hand has a kind of shadow effect could suggest the light was shining to the side of him, creating this shadow effect could suggest that there is a meaning of him shadowing. The lighting creates a soft effect on the photos which creates a mood of wonderness. This photo was taken at a low angle which could mean the photographer wants the viewer to feel as they are looking up to this character makes them feel small. As the model takes up most of the frame in the photo the main focus is on her, and as she is the only one with colour on her, this could suggest her importance and makes more of the focus on her, creating more of the attention on her. What I would do to change it would be more colour on the girls face, and more pattern. I like how he has added the colour on her face but to improve it maybe more pattern and detail would look good.

john baldessari SYMBOLIC I think this photo symbolises women and how they are looked upon by men, maybe the bar-code represent how she feels like men look at her like they can buy her, maybe she feels like an object around other objects which is sat on the shelf waiting to be brought.
CULTURAL This photograph relates to me as a 17 year old, because I think it represents the idea of the way we look and how we are looked upon, she feels as were looked like an object which could be bought, and my idea of what is acceptable for the society we live in and how media represent us.

irls, sat on chairs around a table. Each one of them is holding some sort of object, ones holding a magazine, a phone and a radio. There is a glass window behind them, the room is quite empty, the two girls look like there in conversation, the third girl looks engrossed into her magazine. This picture is set in a 60’s kind of error, it is focused main on this idea of the 60’s fashion, and lifestyle. Sound- In this photo I can hear the cracker-ling of the radio and the sound of pages being turned. Taste- In this photo I can taste the musky old smell in the air, like a old charity shop. Feel- In this photo, if I was placed in this photo I would feel like a shop manikin, it makes me fill like they are posed like models like mannikin’s in a shop window, making me feel like a robot. Smell- The smell in this room would smell like musky, got this scent of oldness rotting to it, like a woody old smell, I think this because its set in an older period making me think that the smell in this photo would be old. Girl is like ignorance unaware of her surroundings she is engrosser into less important things. The window is like the peace sitting on top of the shimmering water The empty room is like the feeling of bore waiting in the doctors room for an appointment. The radio is like no peace.. The sound of the radio roaring gives no one any peace.

I will be using this photographer when doing my interpretations for my shoots, i want to use the idea of the kind of fashion she uses in her photos, and how she uses the same location, but changes the kind of position the model is in, she places them very specifically and in most of her photos uses an eye level angle, in the same position but changes certain things about the photo. She takes a number of photos, to create a motion type of photoshoot, what she has done with the shoot with the male model, is had him move around moving objects around him, and getting him to be changing position, she will set her camera at a certain position to then set her camera to create a quick shot of so many photos, whilst he is moving, this creates motion series of photo, i really like how she has done this in her shoots, i would idealy aim to do this in my interpretation to really show how she uses her camera and angles, and shots to take her photos. She uses bright colours, with a dull background it makes the model really stand out, she uses bright coloured objects to also focus on the objects moving round. it looks good how she has done this, with the black and white pictures i like how she has used the black and white at then turned the photo black and white, as an artist she uses the colours in what the models are wearing and links to the kind of colours in the photo.
This picture is taken in a old bus, this looks taken a long time ago from the difference in colours and the
way the bus is layed out, it looks old. Even though there is other people on the bus, the focus is on the model in the back in the red jumper, he has created this to show a deeper message maybe. The lady in the back is wearing the brightest colours, and sat at the centre of the bus suggesting there importance. There is light blaring through the windows creating shadows on the floor that stand out a lot in this photo. And the photographer has blurred out the setting closest to where he was taking the photo. There set in different locations- set in different times of the day- one picture has more models in one has only 2- the colours are different- in the photo the first background models are looking away in the second photo the model is looking
directly at the camera. technical D- one photo has a greeny/ yellow colour to it- one has a dark blue/ purple colour to it- the first picture focuses on the model in the back but she isn’t looking at the camera, whereas the second photo she’s looking deeply into the camera showing emotion. First photo has some things in focus, whereas the second photo focuses just on the lady looking at the camera.

GLOSSARY OF
WORDS
I find this photos interesting, from the medium of which the photographer used to create this, he used the object of butterfly’s to represent his idea, and his meaning of the photo. This photo is titled the bee-keeper milk and honey, this is a quirky title to go with the quirky photo, she expresses her feeling through her work, and her other photos also tell a story throughout.
In the photo with the lady looking up and the butterfly’s placed on her, they have used bracketing to take a set of photos, taking it at different exposures to ensure one of the photos had the right exposure. The photographer has used framing in this photo, as there is elements in the photo which composition to others. The photographer has used focus in her picture, as the light has created a form of focus and formed a sharp image. The hue in the picture is dark colours, they seem to be browny linking to the colour of the butterfly’s on the lady’s face, could be representing the butterfly’s taking over. The light shining on her has created a dark shadow behind her, and the lighting behind her is shining a shadow under -neath them it looks quite effective. To understand why she did this I need to understand the context of this photo to understand the meaning, why she took it? Her intention? How she took the photo? She must of created this photo for an iconic reason, it must symbolise something, my guess on what it symbolises is escape, the idea of escape comes to mine when I look at this photo.

Subject
In my opinion when I look at this picture the feelings it conveys is trapped, looking at this I feel trapped, there are hands rapped around her. Which seem to be rapping around her and trapping her, this makes me feel trapped, its like she is displayed as powerless, weak she is being controlled.
Technique
Lighting in this photo has created a shadow behind the character in the photo, by directing the sunlight to the side of her it has created an outline of a person behind her, I think this is effective because it looks like a shadow behind her, maybe a person? Maybe representing the fact of someone shadowing her and controlling her, linking in with the hands rapped around her. The focus in the photo is sharp due to the lighting of the photo, the lighting is directly pointing at her, and the shadows behind her in a way frame her creating a real focus onto her. The space in the photo is being used up, the shadow and the had around her uses up the space in the photo, it fits well in the frame and looks good. The colours used in the photo- bright and dark (white and black ) there is an element of an pinky orange tint to the photo, it creates an vintage look to the photo, but the use of bright white onto the background of her creates a more focus on the dark black shadow covering it works well with the photo.
Links with own work
I chose this photo because I like shadow effect on her work, and I like the idea behind it. I like in this photo the emotion through shadows is displayed. My work is set in a vintage setting, and focus on the idea of identity and body image, which links a lot with this photographer focusing on identity. From studying this photo I have learnt how she used shadows to represent her idea, it makes me think how I could show shadow in my photo to help show my point of identity and body image into my work.
BLOOMS TAXOMY QUESTIONS
IN THIS PHOTO I SEE A WALL OF FLOWERS STITCHED TOGETHER IN THE PHOTO YOU CAN SEE THE FLOWERS ARE ROTTING. DETERIORATING, CHAIN, DECAYING. In this picture the flowers are chained together, they have made the flowers into some sort of rug. After time these flowers have rotted and are naturally decaying in colour and shape. This image is naturalistic as he trying to preserve the beauty of something natural, he has naturally let the flowers to rot and decompose as they would do naturally. In this picture the flowers I have seen before but what is new to me is the image of the beauty in the flowers rotting, usually when you see rotting flowers you don’t see the beauty. But the rotting in my eyes adds interest to the work I like it. To make this piece he created the carpet of flowers and hung it up, he let the gradual process of decaying happen with the flowers to create this, so his process was creating it and letting it rot. This photo reminds me of a blanket of autumn leaves on the floor, the different colours and shapes of the leaves reminds me of this. In this photo the lines are falling down with the flowers, there are many different shapes in the photo as there are different kinds of flowers all together, there all different flowers and shapes. There are a range of different colours and tones in this photo, there are the original dominant red colour, then there is the rotting whites and yellows, The light creates a kind of a see through kind of colour which is like, its like the skeleton of the flower. In real life the flowers are all in a blanket with the grass, he has tried preserve this by using the blanket kind of idea but made it different and displaying it on a wall like a hanging. I like his work because of the idea of him wanting to preserve the beauty in what he see’s, its like he wants us to see the beauty like he views it. In the photo he uses the space on the wall too show the display, and from the flowers falling it uses up the space on the wall,I like how its displayed like the flowers are falling. I want to ask the artist where his inspiration to do this came from? Where you walking through a park? From researching I can see his idea of how he is trying to ‘preserve beauty’ he sees this is beauty and wants to keep the shape of the beauty, but wants us to view the beauty in a different way, I think he wants us to see the idea of old and new. ‘ OLD CAN BE BEAUTIFUL’ because I think this is what the photo represents in my eyes. In this picture there is flowers stitched into each-other hanging on a wall, I think he did this to show how the beauty is shown even when the beauty dies. If I was inside this photo it would feel like I’m decaying with it, I would feel like I’m watching something dying, in some ways would make me feel sad. i suppose the artist made this for people to sit there and

to see the beauty in a way shedding off, to see what’s really under the beauty (the skeleton). To live in this photo it would be strange, would feel sad seeing something so beautiful die. This photo is effective because it has a real deep meaning to it has a deeper message to it, I think that he wants us to see what’s behind the beauty, and see actually this is beautiful, its like the skeleton of the flower, it could represent the beauty of humans, even when were rotting we are beautiful. Other people could have different opinions on the art work, they could have the opinion on the image that is it ugly, and doesn’t look right because the flowers are dead, but others could say that the flowers even when rotting are beautiful. What is worth remembering about this photo is the idea of beauty, and different types of beauty. What I have learnt from exploring this art work is how he has expressed his view in his work, I like how if you first saw it you would see a wall of flowers but as the process of his work has gone on you can see the deeper message, the rotting flowers have like uncovered the deeper message.
Main aim of photo shoot- interpretating the artists looked at in level 5, looking at the techniques they used and seeing how these techniques can be used in my photography, linking in with the theme of story telling.

I want her placed in different locations of the same room. Technical idea:The lighting i will be using is a non natural lighting, the lighting is going to be directly shining over the model. i will be using a variety of dfferent kind of techniques like different angles and levels of taking the photo, i want to use a range of overhead shots and eye level shots, as i think this will create the focus more on the model, and help frame the model and shot well. Symbolic idea:The reason i am doing this is to link the ideas of my story, the idea of how media has changed the way we look at beauty, and what perfect is, and how much media has changed the lifestyle and society we live in today. Patricia also linked media with her work, and created all her models to look like manicans- like robots (all the same) the kind of idea i am trying to put across through my
Photo shoot evaluation What was successful? I do like the photos i took, i like how the angles i used worked well with the photos. And like the lighting shining straight onto the model i think it adds sharpness and texture to the photo, the model and the objects around her. What didn’t work and why?The photos are all very similar, i was aiming for this to show how Patricia takes her photos, but i would of preffered more of a variety of different photos. What needs to be changed for the reshoot? For the reshoots i am going to keep the same kind of clothes, having it set in the 60s, but what i am going to do is emphasise the similarites even more by having the two models not look the same but look similar, with the same acessories to show how they all need to look the same- to show how the media have all made us the same.

INTERPRETATION PATRICIA EICHERT
Patricia Eichert, uses bright colours in a dull background a lot in her photos, but she focuses a lot on keeping the same background, having a set up of objects and furniture in a specific place, but taking a number of photos of the model in the same location but putting the models into different staged positions, I wanted to focus the fact that I have placed the model in a specific position, making sure he is exaggerating his position, and making it clear that he is posing. In the photos I used a similar kind of setting, using a side table, with objects on , that have bright colours and patterns to attract the viewers eyes to these bright colours. I dressed the model in bright jumper, with dark trousers, so the viewers eyes are more attracted to these bright colours of the jumper. The photographer uses very bright colours, I used this idea in my interpretation of her photography. She used the idea of taking a load of pictures, and keeping the camera in the exact same position whilst the model was moving around, in his case opening an umbrella, I used this idea in my photos and am looking to use this idea when looking at possibilities for my final piece, she will take a number of photos and create it into some kind of video- she calls it her motion shots, showing through pictures a video, its really effective, because it looks like a video but there are a number of pictures. In the photos she changes parts of the location they are in some shots the balloons on the floor are moved around, and then some other shots he has the umbrella, then sometimes doesn’t. It adds a story to the picture, this is what I am trying to create and show through my photos, a story, so using this idea of motion shots will allow me to take photos but to help me show throughout the photos my story.

In these photos, the lighting quality was dark as it was getting dark in my room using the flash worked well as it really enhanced the colours of the model and objects in the frame of the photo. The flash actually created sharpness to the textures of the objects, I like how the lighting has captures the oldness of the table beside him
I chose a certain location, which helped focus mainly on this shot and having a specific location helps focus the eyes mainly on the model, using bright colours also create more focus on these bright colours, standing out from the other less brighter colours around the model. I wanted to take the photo from different angles, as I like how some angles show the difference in the photos. To frame the work I used the certain objects that I wanted to include in all shots to frame the work.
patricia Eichert Patricia created a motion shot of a model moving around in a specific setting she set up, she used the man on the chair and using bright colours, she used them in-front of the less brighter colours in the background, I wanted to use this idea into when I was doing my interpretations, I did this by using the colour white, as there is white walls, white table and chair, using that as the duller colours in the back I then used brighter colours like green, red, to attract the eyes to focus more on these objects, it adds focus to these objects. She then set the camera in a specific angle and took a number of shots of him walking around, sitting down, putting the umbrella up to show the motion and movement in the photo, she also used the brightly coloured balloons, so that the viewer would notice the movement in the balloons, as there bright the viewer will notice that there moving in the photo. I wanted to experiment with this idea as I really like this idea and want to use this kind of idea in my final piece, I like how it shows a story through the photo, and makes you look at different objects being moved and added into the photo, it works really well. In my interpretation I used the bright against dull colours, and used the idea of taking a number of shots in the same location but I wanted to take them from different angles, I like how the angles have created a frame around the model, and the angles and colours have created a real focus on the model. I positioned the model to these specific positions to really emphasise the fact he is positioned and modelling, I wanted to link in my story with these photos, using the magazine shows the idea of media, and how it influences us.
COLOUR Patricia uses bright colours, editing these photos i wanted to enhance the colours used in these photos. i used the tinting of blues and greens and purples to link well with the object colours used in the photo, the green jumper, the blue purple shirt i wanted in all to enhance the colours and kind of blend in with these objects. to do this i edited this on Bridge- camera raw. This is how i edited the colours to be enhanced specific colours, i lowered the explosure and highered the clarity to enhance these colours even more. i did this to link with the artist using bright colours

EVALUTAION - level 6 This is one of my favourite photos from the shoot,it is a boy holding an umbrella sat on a chair next to a table, I took it from a higher angle to frame what I wanted in the photo. The words I would use to describe this photo- bright, sharp, positioned, old, retro. This photo is abstract as it is displayed in an natural way, there is colours that have been enhanced and the shapes in the photo are abstract recognize the objects and everything around him as these objects belong to me, I don’t recognize the umbrella being up inside, this is not usual to see. I used the colours in these photos to link well with the photographer I am trying to interpret. To create this photo I used a digital camera, I used Bridge to then edit and develop the photo further, using exposure and clarity to enhance the bright colours in the photo. Doing all of this effects the way we look at it as the bright colours will direct the attention to looking more at these objects it attracts the attention to these parts of the photo. The photo reminds me a lot of the kind of photography my photographer has, the colours and the brightness of them do stand out, which reminds me a lot of the photographer I am interoperating. In the photo the flash as enhanced the patterns and textures of the objects around enhancing the lines in the table and flooring. In this photo I used flash, which has captured the shadow of the model, it acts as like an outline to my photo which adds more focus to the model. In real life this photo would have been darker, using the process and the editing has enhanced the bright colours and created a real focus on the model. This photo uses space, I have used the objects and the model to use the space in the photo, which creates a frame, I want the frame filled using the objects it then helped me create the frame. The part that strikes me the most is the bright colours, I like how much they stand out against the dull background. Through researching this artist it has allowed me to look into more of my work, and use there ideas into my work, to see how they develop there photos and how these ideas can develop mine. The title I would choose is’focus’ this photo brings focus to the model, from the lighting used the way the colours stand out and also the use of shadow around the model. In this photo from the looks of it opening up the umbrella, it might be raining outside and he wants to use it. I think this photo is to show the idea of the interpretation of the photographer, representing how they have used colours and lighting in there photos. The photographer created motion shots to show a story, I did this same. To live in this photo I would feel like manikin, it would be boring. I like how the colours really stand out in the photo. I think if I did more different locations it would work well, the picture could of been quite boring, doing different environments would create more difference in shots. Other people could like how there is sharpness in the photos, and like how the objects stand out, but some people might not like the location it is set out in. In this photo it is worth remembering the interesting magazine on the side, I like how it is colourful and you wonder why he is reading it. It compares nicely with the photographers photos, as I have taken on her ideas and used these ideas when taking my photos, like using his idea of colours and objects into my photos. From learning about her work it has helped me develop my ideas further and help me think on some possible ideas for my final piece.

MY PHOTOSHOOT IDEAS ARE: Literal idea: The idea for this shoot is to have 2 models dressed up in 60s clothing, all the similar kind of clo positions to link to my story, and to link with the photographer I was researching on. Technical idea: my lighting will be shining just above them, capturing the glitter I put on the models face, I taking pictures on, I will be taking some on a polaroid and a normal digital camera. Symbolic idea: With these photos I want to show the story of how girls live in this society looking up to this the models look stupid to show how much of a mockery the whole media is, they show what is beauty but it following. Cultural idea: This links to me as I live in this society that we live in and how much of a joke it all is, I want shown the idea of beauty.
Photo shoot evaluation What was successful? I really like how these photos have come out and successfully created and shown the i black and white to show and display the photos in different ways. What didn’t work and why? What didn’t work well was the background, I used a white wall but if I chose the looked better if I had a full white background. What needs to be changed for the re-shoot? For my next re-shoots I will be carefully looking at the location props in my photos would look good and tell the story more in the photo.

INTEPRETATION-PATRICIA EICHERT
PATRICIA EICHERT
This photo is one of my favourites from the number of photos she took from her portraits shoot, she uses the colour black and white in these photos, I like her both models are contrasting with the colour black and white, both wearing the colours but against white it works well, she has made the clear link between both of the models as there positioned in the same position it shows the similarities between both models I like how she has done this. All her photos tell a story and represent something, with this photo she wants to show the difference in taking a photo far away and then taking a photo on a focus point, her focus point was the girl model, she has captured the focus point onto her emotion and facial features, she has used the colour black and white to help represent the mood of the photo, black and white represents old, and it makes everything stand out, the dominant colours of white and black create a real focus and catches the audiences attention. Not just these two photos but even her other photos she will use the colours to create a mood on the photo, all the colours she uses will vary to the type of photo she wants to make it, this is what I have tried to include when interpreting her work.
These are my photos i took for the level 8 re-shoots, I used the idea of colour throughout taking and editing my photos, with these photos I wanted to show a big link with my photos and Patricia photos. In these photos I like how it went from a far away angle of taking the photo to a close up of one of the models, it creates more focus on that individual, by using the flash on the camera it has created a bright light reflecting off her face, and it shines I like how this has happened as it really captures the eyes to this point. In that photo I wanted to have the second model behind but have her darker as almost a shadow, representing a shadow over the model, as if they are shadow of each-other. I used this kind of look when dressing them up to represent the setting and clothing the photographer I researched on, in the shoot I used black and white clothing to represent the idea of how we are all labelled the same, and should all look the same the idea how media paint this perfect picture of how we are meant to look, that why I dressed them the same with the wig to represent this point of similarities, I also wanted to link the black and white clothing with the edit black and white to link with Patricia’s work.
ISO- 900 SHUTTER SPEED- 150 APERTURE- F11
BRIGHT COLOURS Patricia uses bright colours to show the mood in the photo, her shoot- JUST WAIT HERE- she used off bright colours, it set the mood of bored and waiting around it was quite effective, I wanted to represent the mood through my photos and by editing and enhancing colours in my photos this would create the mood to the photo. In my interpretations I went for the bright luminous colours to represent the quirkiness of the photos. Changing the colours has created different colours in the picture, changing it blue not only changed the background but changed the hair colour created that to stand out more, also changed the colour of the skin to pink which changed the way we view the photo which makes the photo stand out more which is what I was trying to go for. The lighting in the photo is directly shining on the models, it creates a real focus on the glitter and the models face I like how it creates a lot of focus on the models. I used bright colours to emphasise the link between the photographer using bright colours and my photos. I looked into her work and researched into looking into a wide range of her ideas and photos and looked into what she has done, I then looked how she has created her work and included this when creating mine, obviously including my own ideas making my own interpretation of the photos I took. I wanted to represent my idea of how media has painted this idea look all girls will need to live up to, I wanted to show the similarities in the girls, making them look the same, changing the colours also represents the change in both of them and how even when changing the colours they change with it, its like a cycle of adjusting to our environment. These photos are my favourite as I like how the colours stand out, and like how the colours reflect the mood of the photo.
visual elements
With these photos I wanted to show the ele space in the frame of my work to show the foc focus in the photo, the light was directly shin focusing the light then created darkness in th ond model which I liked, I wanted to show it li created texture and detail on the surface of t then enhanced when processing the photo w the point of focus creates a massive focus on from eye level, but close up created more fo model I wasted in focus closer to the camer there to be a white plain background, and I model to be closer up. Taking this photo at t the model, it created
ement of focus and colour, I wanted to use the cus on one of the models. I used lighting to show ning to the point I wanted to focus most on, and he background, creating darkness over the secike she is a shadow of her reflection. The lighting the model, it also created a tinted colour which I which I liked. Using this lighting directly shining to the point I want most out there. Taking the photo ocus to the object closer, that is why I placed the ra. I knew what I wanted in the frame, I wanted wanted both models to be in the frame but one the right time as the light was shining directly at d the look I was going for.
ISO- 100 SHUTTER SPEED- 100 APERTURE- F7
These are some of my favourite examples of her work, I like how she uses bright colours, and her ideas of photography are quite out there and unusual, her photography really sticks into your mind because of the colours and objects she uses in her photos, there quite strange. I want my photos to stick into the viewers minds, I want it to be quirky and usual, not the usual type of photography, I also see how in each photo she is telling a story, she uses colours and objects to do this, she uses the bunny and eggs to show how this girl is collecting the Easter eggs, then also the girl picking up the key it shows the story of the girl finding the key, maybe she’s a secret agent, you kind of look at her photography and make your own interpretation of it, some people might not like it but I really like the work she creates. In my photos I wanted to express the idea of similarities and how media have made us all the same, using clothing objects and colour I have created this.

The lighting in this photo, is the light directly shining bellow them, I wanted these photos to come out darker, and less focus on one point exactly but to have no focus, but the darkness of both of the models, it is a unnatural lighting coming from the source of a bulb, to create it to be darker I made the light directly pointing away from the camera and away from the models this created darkness and no light on the photo, I did this so that the white in the photo would stand out more. Having the lighting not pointing directly at the models, created detail on the white objects I kinda of like the texture of the wall, and what they are wearing and by making this dark it created this to stand out.
Having bright white in the photo creates more focus on the white objects and also brings out the dark behind the white background. I wanted these colours to stand out to link with the photo Patricia who I researched on for level 5, I like how she used the colours black and white in one of her shoots and I wanted to re-create this in my photos. Taking the photo horizontal and taking it from a high angle created a good frame round the photo, I stood on a chair to get this photo so that I could fit what I wanted in this frame, I wanted to get everything in this photo to fully show the colours they were wearing.
When taking this photo I knew exactly what I wanted to include and what I wanted to miss out, I wanted to include the models whole look, as I was turning it white and black I wanted to show all what they were wearing to allow there to be more white and black to contrast with the edit, it would of worked better if there was white flooring, cos the black boots would of contrasted well with the white background. The colour black and white is to show the mood of the photo I wanted to tell the story of media, using the black and white kinda of links with the idea of media but I wanted to link the idea of olden times through my work like Patricia work using black and white links with black and white TV in the old days.
polaroid camera
Using a polaroid camera was to link
in with the photographer I was looking at when researching number of photographers, Patricia work stood out to me the most as I liked how the setting of her work was set in, she set her work in the 60s I like how she used colour and clothing, and the objects around the model to show this. When taking my photos I thought of the idea of taking photos from my polaroid as the colour, the polaroid creates, is like an off colours of the actual colours in the photo, I wanted to show this in my work, using the polaroid would help me e create this kind of tinting in the photos. I really like how the photos came out. For my final piece I am thinking of re-creating a series of shots of one of the models doing something and taking a number of photos on my polaroid, and then having them all next to each-other displayed, I think it will look more visually appealing than just photos, it will look good with the kind of look I am going for in my photos, also the idea through the photos is it express how I feel about media and how they take pictures and take pictures of there idea of perfect, using this camera in the photo will represent different ways of taking photos, like its a different way of looking at beauty,
ISO- 500 SHUTTER SPEED- 150 APERTURE- F14
I styled this photograph to the photographer I was researching on in my level 5, when looking at her work I the photo and the colours in the photo she has created these photos linking well to this theme she set out of idea when creating my photos. I set up this style as I want my photography to sustain this quirky s adds one focus onto that, its shining against the light, when looking at my photographer she would u photo is dull and black and white putting glitter on the models face is different it catches the eye to th from a higher angle I like how it turned out as one of the models moved to the different angle, I like h the glitter has created more focus on the one model.
ISO- 600 SHUTTER SPEED- 130 APERTURE- F6
I noticed her theme throughout her work she had used the theme of the 60s, but using angles of taking t, when looking at my interpretations I looked at what the photographer did and I then used this kind style, I like how the lighting in the photo has been captured the glitter on one of the models face, it use something different from the usual objects to create focus, When creating my photos as this his part in the photo. I took these different angles of them, I took one for low down, and then one how this has turned out. These are one of my favourite photos I like how it has turned out and how
visuel element
This is one of favourite photos from the shoot because I really like what is included into the frame of the picture and I really like the angle the photo is taken at, also the colouring, the tint of yellow makes the photo look old and vintage I like how the photo has been processed. The lighting in this photo is caused from a bulb it is directly pointing at the models in the photo, it was pointing above them having this, created a shine on the glitter on one of the models face. Having this lighting created a nice smooth texture on the photo it has created a lot of detail on the photo, which I like because in the other photos from my photographer the lighting in her photo has created a real detail on the objects and location in her photos. Having the lighting above the set created a shine on one part of the models face, having the glitter shining in the photo creates focus onto that one part in the photo I wanted to create a focus on one part of the photo to represent how my photographer does the same in her photos, she will have a few objects around the setting to create a focus and attention to these parts of the photo. I positioned the models like this to bring focus to the point of how similar they are, it almost looks like there is a mirror between them, its like they are intertwined I wanted to show this through the photos to represent the idea of everyone being the same, dressing the same, looking the same. When taking this photo I placed myself on the floor, with my camera to my eye level, I wanted to use this angle of view to include certain aspect of the photo into the photo, I wanted to have the location the models are placed in and I wanted a lot of the focus to be drawn to the boots they are wearing they are a main aspect to the photo and how they look like there is a mirror in-between them. I wanted there to be a lot of space from the models heads and the wall, I like how it makes the photo look long and I like how the models look smaller against the setting. When taking these photos I wanted to express the vintage side to the photos, to link with the photographer I was looking at. I could see that she was using the colour yellow to show the vintage side of the photo, to create and develop my photos further I made the tinting yellow.

evaluation In this shoot I have produced a series of photos representing and interpreting the photographer I researched on. When looking at the photography of this photographer I looked at how she used colour and camera angles. When looking at this I then used these ideas and made my own interpretation to this. My chosen topic is story telling so my idea was to tell my story through my photos but using the ideas from Patricia work in with my work. In the production of the work I used different low, high eye level angles when taking the photos, I used the same lighting throughout the photos to capture the light on the models face to create focus on one part of the photo to attract the viewers eye to this section of the photo. When developing my photos I used Photoshop and bridge to edit the photos to create a brighter colour tints to the photo. I explored looking at using different kinds of way of capturing the photos, I used a polaroid and also a digital camera to explore a different way of taking a photo so that it could look different, digital camera can be quite boring I wanted my photos to look quirky like the photographers work using a different camera allowed me to get these photos. Some of my photos I didn’t use flash and the pictures came out quite fuzzy these are the photos I dropped as they didn’t look sharp and detailed as the others. The topic of the photos is the story of how media has represented beauty to all be the same its the idea of how we all have to look the same and follow to fit in, I wanted to express this idea through clothing and the models, putting them in the same clothes and making them look like twins but showing clearly there not to show how we follow and reflect of each-other. Using shots of one in front showed how we are shadows of each-other I like how these turned out as it created more focus on the model in-front and showed the model behind like how they shadow over each-other. Taking this work further could be changing the location of this by choosing a location which could link more to the story I’m trying to tell like maybe a busy street showing how the models look so similar compared to others around, or maybe a photo-shoot setting showing the idea of how the environment is for the models. The work I studied I really liked because it showed a story within the photo taken, I wanted to use this idea but using props and settings like Patricia did in her work, and used this idea in my photos to tell the story. I focused more on the clothes and style to represent the story. I used bright coloured tinting to represent how the photographer used bright colours when taking her photos. I used the clothing to represent the idea of fashion through Patricia work, focusing on the location and clothing to help display my interpretation of the work I looked at from Patricia. To interpret her work I have used the editing of bright colours to represent how the photographer has used bright colours, and I used the glitter to show the different focus point in the photo. The photographer would use something bright or weird to focus the viewers eyes to this point, I did this by using black and white as a dull colour and using the gold glitter to shine against the light to then bring focus to this one point. When doing my interpretations I understood that I could use wigs and props to show my story instead of the location like my other shoots to tell the story I used more clothing to.

With these pictures I used a pen to alter and change the way we look at this picture, I wanted to add pattern to the photo to add more of an interest to the photo, I was thinking I could maybe use this idea of doodle kind of look in my final piece. My favourite one is the one with my model and I’ve just done lines from her head going down I like this because it makes the photo look different and gives the photo a different story. With the photo I scrunched up I then used the pen to outline those lines that where created from the scrunch to really define the lines in the photo, I like how this has created a distort to the photo.

how patricias work links with my work
From looking at Patricia’s work I liked how she used one setting and took a num specific aspects about the photo, she would change the model, maybe moving him, moved was brightly coloured so that we would notice it as a viewer being moved, me with my ideas with photography, these are my pictures from my artist interpr a number of shots with a model doing actions to show the change in the photos. making it different, with my level 8 which are the photos bellow I changed the I wanted to change certain aspects with them like location, changing this I the
mber of shots from that one setting, but with her photos she would change , or keep him the same but moving the objects around him, anything she , in her motion shots she did this which I really liked, and which inspired retation shoot, I used her idea of colour, setting and the idea of taking From doing this experiment I then wanted to develop this idea further but photos more to my idea and story I want to tell, then with these pictures en took more photos for my final piece.
frames
These are my frames i am thinking of including into my final piece, these are pictures of me experimenting with the frames, painting them pink to link with the colour theme i am aiming for with my photos, as the words are gonna be pink i want to use pink frames, to create focus on this colour. With the frames, the main idea of this is for the frames to be used to create a frame round the places i want to be mainly looked at, the main bits in the story. I will frame certain things to mean something, something i want the viewer to look at.
level 8 photos
MY IDEAS
These are the photos that I was taking in my levels, all leading up to my final piece. Level 8 helped me experiment with angles and lighting and location to use, then seeing what went well and what didn’t then helped me come further with my ideas and develop them. Bellow is my possible ideas.....
possible idea
This is one of my possible ideas I would like to do for my final piece, as I feel it brings all my work I’ve done all together in one, also using the ideas I got from researching my photographer Patricia, using her ideas of colour I used bright colours in my photo, and she used pictures to create a video, she would take a number of shots to then create a set of motion shots, I liked how she would do this was one of my favourite ideas of hers, I tried to illustrate this through my work, by taking a number of photos with them moving and changing position I tried to interoperate this idea,I chose this type of clothing to express the idea of my story which is how media has changed our society and changed the way we look at perfection, from looking around everyone copies this one trend, I want to express this story of how this happens in my photos, dressing them the same and having them with a wig shows how its all fake, and how they all dress the same to fit in to this idea of perfection painted by the media. I took this photos to try illustrate Patricia work and how she took a number of photos with the same location but with the model changing position to make each photo different.
To develop this idea further I wanted to use a polaroid, as I like how is displays the photo the same way, with the white backing. I experimented with my level 8 shoot testing out how the polaroid would take the photos, from doing this experiment I then decided that I wanted to include this in my final piece, I wanted to keep the idea of the same models looking the same, and keeping them changing position but having the different photos taken with a polaroid helped the layout of the photo stay the same which looked better than just the photo.
t Developing this idea further I thought to write words and sentences under the photo to help tell the story a long the time-line of the photos I have taken, as I am trying to tell a story through the photos, using the time-line idea helps me express my theme, and with the writing underneath helps tell the story under the photo. When researching through Patricia’s work I noticed that there was the same setting and colour throughout the shoot, with my photos it gave me the idea of keeping the same lighting and location through one shoot, taking it with the polaroid also gave a pinky colour to the colour of the photo which I liked as it added a specific colour through the shoot, with my re-shoot of these photos I will be changing the location to a street view as its more interesting than just a plain white wall, and also changing the t lighting through different shoots as I want the different shoots to look different.

Layouts
These are my practise mock ups, where I was experimenting with the layouts of what I was planning to do with the photos I took for my final piece. These photos came from my mock-up up final piece, I practised using the polaroid and setting out my final piece and how I wanted it to look, when doing this I then experimented with looking and testing out different layouts to help me with how I will display the photos in the frame. Looking through these mock ups, I like the idea of having them in a time-line kind of way, all pinned on a board the same way it helps it look more like a story, if I did this layout it would look best in a long frame, I think this will look best with my chosen photos.
Bringing all my ideas together, For my final piece I am going to be taking 16 photos, 8 will be taken in one location with a brighter lighting, This will be stuck on comic book paper displayed in a frame, then to the frame there is another frame on the back which will have the next 8 photos, in darker lighting, with the same display. This idea has come from my work and the work of others like the photographer Patricia who’s ideas inspired mine. Her idea of motion shots gave me the idea of displaying the photos in the time-line, and also gave me the idea of taking a number of shots in the same position and location but getting the models to move and change position. The clothing she used in her photos are quite wacky, I wanted to show this kind of clothing in my photographer and to make it a main aspect of my photography, using the same clothing shows the idea of everyone being the same, having the clothing tell the story. Also the idea of the polaroid came from experimenting with other cameras, I wanted to view the photos in a different way, experimenting with the polaroid gave me the idea for my final piece.
I do like my other final piece ideas of using the 4 photos, each having there own black frame, as these photos have been taken in the same position still using the idea of motion shots, but having the models changing position, I wanted to use bright colours as I think it brings a real focus to the photo, it attracts the eye to the piece, also Patricia used bright colours and I found this brought my attention to her work, which is what I wanted to do with my work. With this idea I would have words and symbols coming out of the frame, to look like the story is coming out of the frame, I do like this idea but I think what most represents my idea and my story would be my second idea with the polaroids, I like how this will look and I think helps tell my story a lot better than the first idea.
final piece ideas
Main aim of photo shoot- re-shoot of level 8, from looking at my last shoot done for level 8 i wanted to change a few things to improve my last shoot, to then use these photos for my final piece.

MY CHOSEN THEME IS: Story Telling MY PHOTOSHOOT IDEAS ARE: Literal idea: To take a series of photos with the models in different possitions, taking these photos keeping the camera at the same angle, i will have the models dressed the same. Also using a polaroid camera for each shot, creating like a timeline of photos. Technical idea:Using the natrual lighting, but i want to take 2 series of 8 photos, one darker and one lighter set of photos, changing the settings on the polaroid will allow me to have 8 lighter and 8 darker,. i will be keeping all the photos portrait angle, but one set of 8 will be taken in one location and another set of 8 at a different location. Symbolic idea:The idea of this shoot is to bring all my work that i have done over 1-8 levels, i have used different looking models but made them look the same, with the same clothing to show the idea of how ‘we all need to fit in, and to do so we need to look the same’ also using the idea of the series of photos in one line links in with the idea of got when look through Patricia’s work when researching on photographers. Cultural idea:This links in with me as i enjoy looking at Patricia’s work and her work inspired these ideas i came up with, also the idea of my story came from looking around at the society we live in at the moment and noticing what is happening, i then wanted to express this in my work. Photo shoot evaluation What was successful? i liked how the photos came out, the idea of lighter and darker came out, and the new location i set it at i prefer a lot rather than the white wall, when doing my last shoot i wanted to improve the shoot by changing the location to something more interesting i chose a street in windsor shopping town, i think this helps work with the photos more. What didn’t work and why? I was aiming for the camera to be kept in the same position and to take a number of photos the same but the models changing, but as there is no stand for a polaroid it is hard to keep it in the same position. What needs to be changed for the reshoot? If i had a stand for the polaroid or maybe a way i could keep it in the same location this would mean i wouldnt have the problem of there being changed in the position of the camera.
