Now, who are the people that come to mind? Your suitemates, neighbors, friends in your carpool, lab partners, study buddies? Start writing down their names and suddenly you have your fantasy reunion team. These are the friends you want to see at Alumni Weekend so you can get together and relive all those great memories. Now take these names and submit them for your team roster and encourage the players to get you all the points necessary to win one of these fabulous prizes. What’s up for grabs? Friday, October 4 A Reading with University Professor Alan Cheuse and MFA Alumni 4 to 5 p.m. Mason Hall Alumni Atrium Cost: Free Mason creative writing professor and NPR book critic Alan Cheuse joins recent alumni from the MFA fiction program for a reading. Cheuse will read from his recent collection of novellas, Paradise or Eat Your Face, and alumni will share selections from their own forthcoming books.

CHSS Fourth Annual Distinguished Alumni Reception 5 to 7 p.m. Johnson Center, George’s Restaurant By invitation only This celebration features distinguished alumni from each academic department within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Mason Alumni at The Park 5 to 11 p.m. The Park at 14th Street, Washington, D.C. Cost: $5 Join the Black Alumni Chapter for socializing and good music on the exclusive fourth floor of The Park at Fourteenth.

Alumni Authors Library Induction 6 to 8 p.m. The Well at The Mason Inn Cost: $10 Fall for the Book and The Well will induct the library's first alumni authors. Join us for cocktails and appetizers and hear your fellow alumni read from their books before they’re added to The Well's growing library.

Volgenau Annual Alumni Dinner 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel Cost: $20 The Volgenau Alumni Board welcomes alumni and their guests to a wonderful dinner at the Mason Inn. This annual event is becoming a must-attend event for Volgenau School alumni to meet and to engage in discussions about the future direction of the school.

Aquila Theatre: Twelfth Night 8 p.m. Center for the Arts Cost: $44, $36, $22 Mason Alumni and their families receive a 15 percent discount. The gifted actors of this renowned British­ American theater troupe bring William Shakespeare’s brilliant poetry to life in this delightful production that includes an original musical score.

An Evening under the Stars 8:30 to 10 p.m. Research Hall, Observatory Cost: $5 Have you ever wanted to look at the stars, planets, galaxies, and more? Come visit the College of Science’s observatory for a tour and viewing of the night sky through our 0.8-meter telescope (weather permitting).

Inaugural Alumni Weekend Drag Show 8 to 10 p.m. Johnson Center Atrium Cost: $5 The Lambda Alumni Chapter invites you to this special show featuring Mason alumni drag queens that will entertain all while raising funds for the Lambda Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Student leaders in attendance will represent campus organizations such as Student Government, Mason Ambassadors, Greek Life, Student Media, and many others. School of Law Class Reunions 6 to 8 p.m. Hazel Hall, Arlington Campus Cost: Early Bird $35, General $45 The School of Law welcomes all of its alumni to a class reunion evening. For this year’s reunion, a special invitation is extended to alumni celebrating their 5th and 10th years since graduation, as well as those with class years ending in 3 and 8. 8
