EDITOR'S NOTE In this issue of Christian Times Magazine, you will read Part 1 of Georgette Nichols’ testimony of her being fired as she stepped forward to speak of “employees holding back/stealing medicines from patients“ for either their personal use or to sell them for personal profit. Because she stepped forward with her testimony she was fired from her job! Georgette is a registered pharmacist here in the state of Texas. And when she stepped forward to report the abuse of medicines and medications, she became, in my opinion, ‘The Texas Whistleblower.’ She is a devout Christian and servant of God; and we are going to tell her story in Christian Times Magazine. This month, as we said, you will read Part 1. We will publish two additional parts in monthly increments for you to read in June and July of this year. In this issue also we highlight America’s ‘National Day of Prayer.’ This special day is held once each year in the month of May and this year it is held on 5 May. There can be no better time than the current time to pray for America! America is fractured and divided politically and in many other ways; and our Constitution and civil rights are being attacked on a daily basis. America Needs Prayer and we need to pray for America on a daily basis! Jesus became our example in prayer when He was here on earth. And Jesus, Paul the Apostle, Simon Peter, James and John and others have commanded us to pray. So Let us pray: ‘Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.’ Brethren, let us pray!

FENTANYL AND THE MORAL COMPASS BY GEORGETTE NICHOLS

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had everything one could desire but it was in the purity of God’s currency. Adam and Eve lived in a place without sin, without fear, without greed and without death. Adam and Eve lived every day in the pureness of God’s presence. In fact when Adam and Eve sinned by eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve gained from that point forth the knowledge of good and evil. Before that event Adam and Eve had only the knowledge of good. They had no perception of evil just like a child. But when Adam and Eve sinned and ate the fruit, a moral compass, the Holy Spirit was needed to discern good from evil. Satan was and is the master deceiver disguising the forbidden fruit and the knowledge of all as a good thing. But with the knowledge of good also came the knowledge of evil. This can be likened to the discernment of sweetness enhanced by salt.

I am a pharmacist by trade and my name is Dr. Georgette Nichols. I am thankful for the opportunity to speak the truth regarding my moral compass challenge by the hospital that once employed me. I am a second generation pharmacist, my father worked in retail; while I previously worked in the hospital. I am writing on the topic of Fentanyl, a powerful and deadly opiate which is plaguing America. Fentanyl is killing many in the wake and littering the streets with addict zombies. Fentanyl is a synthetic opiate with a quick onset of action and euphoria similar to heroin but with a half-life (meaning literally concentration halved) of 72 to 96 hours. Heroin’s half-life was about 30 minutes. While Fentanyl remained in your body anywhere from 72 to 96 hours perhaps longer. I wish to also write on the moral compass something the Holy Spirit implements in Christians.

CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 08

As sin begets more sin the moral compass which points toward God starts faltering and Satan’s static interference takes over. Today distracted Christians follow Satan’s static. Christians choose to cruise control or autopilot their lives not following God’s guidance. Christians now more than ever should follow God’s path; using the instinctual moral compass so that we might be sensitive to the messages of our Sovereign God. Perhaps, Christians do not like what they hear? In the Bible, the moral compass did reset a few times such as the destruction of the flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and the destruction of the Nineveh. Many more instances of a moral compass reset are present in the Bible but note the trend. The moral compass did wane in the Biblical characters allowing them to listen to Satan’s whispering static. With the waning of the moral compass the biblical characters did eventually suffer destruction as an outcome to their sin. Satan’s static is likened unto temptations such as idolatry, greed, gluttony, adultery, child sacrifice, sex, murder and many more not to be mentioned sins. Look at the show, Game of Thrones, which glorifies all

the above mentioned sins. It airs boldly for all to see, including me. With boldness of sin comes desensitization of the moral compass and allowance of evil. This boldness and repetitiveness of sin eventually pacifies our moral compass over time. Allowing even Christians to not heed God’s warnings. The moral compass and God’s sovereignty did also change the autopilot function and eventual outcome for many believers too -for the good. A prime example, Jonah who after being swallowed by the whale, started to preach albeit reluctantly. Jonah’s preaching broke the static of Satan and in turn spared Nineveh for a time! Our sovereign God is and was always in control with a better path to follow. God did change the outcome for Nineveh because of their repentance and listening. The people of Nineveh did heed to their moral compass but not forever. I was faced with a very difficult trial as a pharmacist, where my moral compass, conscience, was challenged. I was terminated from one of the largest faith based hospitals in America for reporting narcotic diversion. I worked for this hospital system for almost 4 years between 3 different hospitals all through COVID. CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 09

I noticed the inconsistencies in medical practice started while working overnight in a small hospital. I received drug requests unrealistically early from nursing for narcotics such as fentanyl and other ventilator drugs. The more I researched and questioned what I saw the more troubling things became. I questioned my fellow pharmacists about the early narcotic requests by nursing? I questioned my boss, a proclaimed Christian? Fellow pharmacists told me in whispers the nursing department would “snow” the patients. “Snow”, a medical term, can be described as giving entirely too much narcotics so the patients stayed in a deep coma. Patients in a deep coma do not need as much care; making a nurse job easier .But this harms the fragile lungs of the patients’ which cannot be sustained on ventilators very long. Keeping someone on a ventilator unnecessarily to feed a drug supply for an addict was and is egregious medical practice. This slang term, “snowing”, which explained a drugged torture fate for my patients sickened me. Later with more questioning I also learned patients died from an invasive yeast infection likely due to improper cleaning practice that contaminated others. A risk factor for the yeast infection was prolonged ventilator use. The irony was this yeast.

incident resulted after a pandemic that taught the entire world to clean. I reiterated to my coworkers I cannot live with this practice. I told my coworkers and the director of pharmacy, my boss, if we know to do good and choose not to, it is a sin. Something was wrong, I felt it. I questioned more and learned from the nurses they could override drugs and drug rates without even entering a patient’s room? By doing so they bypassed all patient safety measures and never assessed the patients. If I told you a trip by car would take 40 hours and you arrived in about 8 hours would you question how that was possible? As something was off with the road trip example something was amiss with my hospital. The staidness of the situation was the inaccuracy with the deadly drug, Fentanyl. As a pharmacist, I was worried at first my nurse overdosed or my patient died due to a drug error. I realized in my further questioning my moral compass altered me. I was not willing to allow nurses, pharmacists and other medical staff to allow diversion of fentanyl and other narcotics. Tampering with drug products and altering medication charts of patients dying on ventilators was CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 10

also something I could not morally accept. Keeping a patient’s blood pressure dangerously low, altering blood flow to vital organs cannot be rationalized by addiction or theft alone. It was far more sinister. As a medical professional why not document what was done to an unconscious patient? As a pharmacist all we have been taught was to document. The pharmacist that first trained me rocked back and forth typing and shouting; document, document, document! All I asked for was proper medical chart documentation and procedure. All I asked from others was to be accountable for the unaccountable drug missing. Which so happened to be fentanyl and many other drugs. My moral compass was grieving by the lack of justice and concern around me. I struggled morally with the concept of proof of a vaccination for entry into a restaurant. But no laws existed that legally required fentanyl to be documented when it was or was not injected into my comatose patient? Query: where was the HIPAA law for the vaccination proof requirement? HIPAA greatly interfered with

gathering data in the hospital. I am not convinced HIPAA helped patients but rather the hospitals. I found the data about diversion in my hospital not just simply because I was looking but because I liked Information Technology or IT. The director of pharmacy also assigned me to roles such as replenishment, diversion tasks and IT. I was not your typical pharmacist. I worked at different hospitals from all different companies. Each taught me a different piece of the diversion puzzle and IT. I enjoyed IT coding and I desired to become an IT coding pharmacist. Knowing coding, my moral compass was also concerned with fraudulent billing. It was quite simple: you cannot bill a patient or the federal government for something the patient never received and you never documented as given. Altered medical charts like the mafia cooked books for a horse race was not an acceptable practice in healthcare. The COVID pandemic was also no excuse to execute such poor medical practice. In times of war protocols were followed, certainly warfare was not entirely done by guesswork.

CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 11

My termination affected my identity. I gave up a lot of my desires like being an IT pharmacist in a hospital. No hospital wanted me. I applied for almost 80 jobs after my termination. In my mind a hospital was not a safe place anymore. My last day at work a nurse mumbled I am worried about you, lie low or go back to your old job. I now know what hospitals have done to make sure nothing was known publicly. They have it destroyed, erased, blacklisted or labeled too passionate. I feared for my safety because morally if you are ok with hurting and stealing from dying patients what would you do to me? Due to my restlessness and depression my dreams altered. I had dreams about the patients and still do. I saw vividly my patients’ charts changing drug rates before my eyes like the flicker board of Wall Street. I heard the beeping of ventilators accompanied by illogical drug rates. I dreamt of my patients suffering while I kept reporting my concerns to no avail. Sadly, my dreams persisted. In the dreams, though one message was clear I kept hearing you are not finished over and over like a record playing out of tune. So, I woke up, prayed and redirected my path so that I followed what God asked of me.

I realized though God knew this turmoil would make me focus more on Him. With my termination I suffered a loss of a job and loss of my hospital career. I experienced profound grief. I loved my job and I loved my company but I still could not believe what happened. I was also shocked at the lack of concern for those I warned. I wished my pharmacy department and hospital system feared God and the ramifications of allowing harm like I did. In my pain and grief, I searched the Bible to see how this act of ignoring suffering might be explained. I thought of the Good Samaritan story where two people passed the dying man who was robbed by thieves. A biblical example on how the moral compass waned. Like the medical staff in my story was not concerned for proper procedure and patient care; a priest and a Levite walked by the injured man. The Good Samaritan stopped and heeded to his moral compass. How could a priest, a Levite and even medical professionals in my plight ignore harm on a possibly dying person? Perhaps this could be described with the psychology term, The Bystander Effect. The more people present to observe a traumatic event allowed more people to not be held responsible. This lack of accountability CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 12

induced by the crowd allowed all parties involved do nothing in response. In modern terms this was labeled herd or gang mentality. The Kitty Genovese tragedy in 1964 showed that 37 people witnessed a murder but not one did anything to help. My witness list once included 70 people, it keeps growing. Desensitization of evil and the moral compass allowed others to easily walk by. Psychology just gave it the name The Bystander Effect. Knowing this effect, I replayed the conversations with my colleagues. They told me I was doing what was right but going about it the wrong way by reporting my concern. They told me I did not realize the hospital's “politics.” I was advised to report the suspicious changing drug rates and early narcotic requests in a more “private manner to preserve my career.” Nearly every medical professional I spoke to showed concern for the matter accompanied by a blind submissiveness. Almost everyone I knew was ok doing nothing. I reflected on my reports, I requested common safe-guards such as cameras and witnesses to prevent theft. I asked for the very things my boss told the DEA at a past job that were needed to prevent theft. I made Microsoft word documents

of the reports, meticulously with great detail so the truth might be known. I followed the chain of commands required of me. I reported my concerns to the Human Resource department. They acted concerned for a moment for patient safety yet never gave me the promised board panel to speak the truth too. I consulted many friends; pharmacists, directors of pharmacy, doctors and coworkers. I eventually reported my concerns to the DEA, Board of Nursing, Board of Pharmacy, Medical Board, Joint Commission, Health and Human Services, State Health Department, DPS and NLRB. I reported my continued concerns to politicians in the local and state government. But something persisted in this; the moral compass was waning and the bystander effect grew larger and larger. I have met with the DEA twice and left a voicemail recently. I also know most of the government agencies which should be concerned are not acting concerned for narcotic theft, narcotic diversion and patient harm. The last call I had with a politician’s case worker I asked where their moral compass was and where does 148 million stolen narcotics go? I still patiently waited for action on behalf of the politicians. I waited for the others involved to do something. CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 13

Again, I want to reiterate Satan’s static has plagued my life and will continue to do so. I morally could not hurt my patients while dying, I could not profit from harm or diversion. That was my moral line, what was theirs? Please know this one act of virtue does not make me a perfect person. One cannot label me an evangelist and sadly most can state I followed the path of Peter. Peter was noted to have denied Jesus thrice. But when Peter’s moral compass focused on God, he was able to walk on water. Other than Jesus, Peter was the only other person who defied the laws of Physics. Peter was much like the modern church with great failure comes great faith. I chose not to ignore my moral compass this time and focused on God’s path even risking my hospital career. I wanted to walk figuratively on water with God in lieu of sinking. I knew I would not be able to live with myself in the end if I chose not to honor God. God also saw what occurred those nights. I also know I had peace with my decision and with the grief. God along with my moral compass prepared my journey from the beginning. I still stumbled through my life too often

listening to Satan’s autopilot not realizing God’s masterful work to this journey’s end- termination. To cope with the termination and grief, I sought counseling both medically and spiritually. I feared I would harden my heart towards God. Admittedly, a sin I committed in the past. I worried I was too foolish to see the eventual good and would focus only on the termination and bad medical practice. I feared a sinking of my faith, like Peter. I feared what I lost. I lost nearly all of my friends and colleagues as a result. Funny, I just reported what I saw. This both angered and saddened me. I sought to approach this grief from the job loss differently than before. With my counselor’s advice I prayed more. I prayed every time I dreamt of patients being harmed. I prayed for peace. I prayed for my boss who asked me if my last job gave me a going away party instead of asking about narcotic theft. I prayed for all the employees I told. I prayed for my friends who ignored me. I prayed for my patients, I left being harmed. I prayed that I could do more to help my patients. As seen in the Garden of Eden with knowledge of good comes knowledge of evil. The evil being the hospital and medical professionals who allowed CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 14

dying patients to be harmed. The evil seen with a sticky fingers drug operation that the pharmacy department helped run. The evil that pacified the government agencies. I begged God in prayer to not harden my heart with what I found and that my moral compass be used to guide me. I begged in prayer that God showed me what I should do with my life. I asked God to not make me angry at men or former friends but the cause. I asked to be angry at the sin. I asked that God would use the passion my boss claimed a hindrance to be used for HIS glory and for truth. I prayed to be not be swallowed like Jonah or tortured to the extent of Job. I prayed to hear God’s direction. This was also not to say I did not suffer chaos and pain like Job. I lost some of my hair due to stress. I can also assure you I suffered much more. But I asked God for mercy because I believed I was not as strong as Job. God answered prayers. God granted me mercy but God changed my journey’s course. When I asked how my boss could fire me? I found some evidence on the internet! I found a DEA report of theft from my boss’ last hospital of employment. It showed in writing the request to install cameras and dual witnesses as a means to prevent diversion. The very things I asked for yet

was terminated! God continued to answer my prayers although differently than expected. God presented me with new paths to speak the truth such as this article. God provided me with new friends and a few old ones returned. I must confess regardless of the prayers and regardless of the mercy filled blessings, I was unhappy with my chosen profession of pharmacy. In fact, I also questioned God’s outcome. For a brief period I even questioned why God had me living. I questioned why pharmacy? I questioned why my boss inferred I was too passionate about narcotic diversion? I prayed with a roadside stranger about my passion. My Christian counselor explained God designed me for this battle. God picked someone passionate. A healthcare worker must have compassion to be healers for their patients. Part of the word compassion was literally passion! The stranger and counselor both agreed God instilled this passion in me. Both told me, I was also unequally yoked to my former hospital. I then prayed to be equally yoked with my future employers. Together we prayed for mercy, peace, wisdom and safety. Together we prayed and still do for justice. We prayed moving forward I CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 15

would be allowed to work as a Christian with Christian morals, at the very least the ability to speak the truth. My counselor also recommended I write a letter to the pharmacy profession to process the pain and grief. This is what I wrote: In 2019, 148 million narcotics were stolen by hospital staff, that number only reflects hospitals with Protenus AI software. That only included hospitals who reported the theft. With a doctorate degree in pharmacy, 9 years of schooling; I was fired in an email for reporting theft, the very thing I was legally responsible for. I want you (the pharmacy profession) to know I am confused and I am grieved. I was sold on the lie; that as a pharmacist I would be one of the most trusted medical professionals. I was told during school I was obtaining something noble and just. I was told that FEW had the honor to pursue this career path. I was told that as a pharmacist WE ARE THE LAST STOP before the drugs hit the patients. I was told IT IS MY LEGAL and ETHICAL DUTY to be that last stop and to always double check to protect my patients. I am confused and I am grieved because this is just not the case in

pharmacy practice today. I have contacted the Board of Pharmacy, Nursing Board, Medical Board, DEA, Health and Human Services, Joint Commission, State Health Department Services, DPS, and politicians on behalf of my patients. I have risked everything to do my job and protect myself from instances of theft while my patients fought to live. I am greatly confused by the practice of pharmacy and the hypocrisy of it. Why is it in retail pharmacy I must anxiously research the patient’s fill history to ensure they are not doctor shopping or pharmacy shopping? Why is it in retail I must meticulously check every detail written down on the script or the pharmacy can be fined? Yet the profession of pharmacy allows hospitals to cook the narcotic books? Why is it that small independent retail pharmacies suffer these fines but major hospitals can lose liters of Fentanyl and 600 milliliters of Versed because of nursing with no recourse? I am confused why we have a state prescription- monitoring program yet continue to allow the streets of our nation to be littered with drug addicts. I am confused why drug addicts received free needles and not my diabetic patients. Both deserve the right to clean needles. I am so confused by so many things and CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 16

all of them stem from my chosen profession of pharmacy. Can we be a just profession and profit on death? Why is our medicine in America so much more expensive? Hospitals lose and forget to document narcotics every day while retail pharmacies do monthly sometimes weekly narcotic audits? Are we (the pharmacy practice) so foolish to think that the fentanyl on street is entirely foreign supply? Where did 148 million stolen narcotics go?

the equivalent to nearly 5,000 fentanyl patches. That was enough fentanyl to kill 32 people. I also knew of the patients who died due to the yeast outbreak--I had to give this to God. I gave this knowledge of harm to God and continued to pray more. I asked for guidance on my next steps. God kept providing the articles and answering prayers with more and more evidence. God’s guidance showed this was a systemic problem.

The figure stolen, 148 million narcotics, was equivalent to nearly the population of Russia. Meaning everyone in Russia can get 1 free narcotic unit. Again I implored, WHERE DID THE NARCOTICS GO? This sickened me because these drugs are not being used for good. My complaints to all the boards was not taken seriously yet we were on the cusp of an addict zombie healthcare apocalypse. What I do not understand was how addicted healthcare workers were able to work when the addicts on the street cannot. I worked less than 90 days at my last hospital that chose to terminate me in an email for reporting narcotic diversion and documentation inconsistencies. Later, I learned the loss I observed combined with the past loss of my boss would be

Articles like Heller, A., 2021. Amid COVID-19, Fight Against RX Diversion Continues. Pharmacy Practice News and the article by Shaw, G., 2022. Heading Off Drug Diversion Through Single-Dose Dispensing. Pharmacy Practice News showed me this was a systemic problem. I believed those next steps with God’s divine happenstance led me to write this article. All the mishaps that led me here was a story for another day but it included some strangers on the bridge and on the grass. It included Oxford. I realized that I did not choose this battle but I felt led to fight it. I continued onward with the journey of exposing narcotic diversion, my profession of pharmacy and my journey with God. God had me but this is where I ask you, the reader, for help. CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 17

Please reader, might you pray without ceasing. Pray specifically for the patients currently suffering due to hospitals sin, corruption and narcotic diversion. Please could you pray for the opiate fog and addiction of America? That our nation might break free from this like Nineveh with Jonah. Lastly, I ask please pray for my protection and anyone else who risked it all for reporting diversion and corruption. I am asking for these laws and changes as well. It is not all inclusive. But it is a start to prevent further theft and prevent further patient harm. All medication drips must have 2 witnesses to sign off on the medication Drips should also require pharmacy approval to curtail diversion opportunities All narcotics administered and wasted must be documented accurately by all units of the hospital by all members of the healthcare team Employment of Pharmacists within the DEA, Medical Board, Texas Board of Nursing and State Health Department Requiring board pharmacists work actively in profession so that they are abreast of the current healthcare world

Sending pharmacists to do board inspections and investigations All DEA records kept a minimum of 10 years Protocols of hospitals posted publicly online like speed limits signs are posted on the road Requiring error prevention reports from hospital be made public so as to increase and encourage compliance and prevention of harm Every hospital has a narcotic diversion committee Narcotic Diversion Software must be installed in all hospitals DEA , Medical Board, TBOP, and TBON enforces safeguards needed to prevent diversion and publishes what hospitals have narcotic diversion software Increase counseling for addicted health care workers Increase counseling for whistleblowers Increase naloxone throughout society until we can curb addiction- life long treatment process Increase church involvement of addiction – this is prostitution of the soul Abolishing the ability to terminate healthcare workers at-will Requiring a medical board panel before termination of health care workers – must be made up of general public CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 18

Abolishment of arbitration Black-listing of whistleblowers should be punishable by law and fine

Pharmacists must be considered as practitioners nationwide. We must be considered a billable provider so that our voice might be heard and compensated accordingly. Pharmacy is a doctorate program. With the practitioner status the pharmacist can become the medication therapy managers for the patients and serve as patient therapy advocates. We will work directly with the patients helping pick the right drug based on research both pharmacological and non-pharmacological. We will also help pick the medication best according to patient response. Perhaps even preventing another pandemic? I believe in miracles and God’s mercy do not you? Finally, I ask for activism on your part. Bring up the conversation with politicians that the narcotics on the street are NOT entirely foreign supply. Be the salt, use your moral compass and be salty for Jesus. Because Jesus said if we lack the flavor we are not even fit for a dunghill. A warning

A Challenge to the GOP By Chris Grahn Howard

As conservatives, we have seen a significant change in our politics at every level, from the national down to school boards. Seeing the tide turn back in our favor is exciting and promising. There is still much work to be done, some undone, and a Country to put back on the right path. Most polls show us making significant gains in November. Potentially taking back the House and Senate, continuing increases in State Houses is also exciting. I, like many, pray this will come to pass. However, the curse comes with the blessing. Should the above come to pass, the people will expect results, change, and that Republicans will lead, or at least try. It will be challenging and heartbreaking at times. If we can continue the success into 2024, those we elect must move the cause forward. Failure will ensure the Dems will take things back. To be honest, this is my greatest fear. We must provide momentum that the 2024 Presidential race moves in our direction. Failure is not an option. Be sure that the Dems are working day and night behind the scenes to keep what they have won. Efforts in redistricting, election laws, and attacking republicans are in full swing. CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 29

One of the items that hurt GOP candidates in 2020 was the lack of a healthcare plan. While it is not high on the traditional GOP list, it is on the minds of many Americans who are in the middle. Believe it or not, people held out hope that President Trump would have a plan that helped people and didn’t break the bank. Failure to present such a plan hurt Trump in the election. Failure to provide a plan by 2024 will again hurt the 2024 efforts. We all must find the path between appearing or even being racist and protecting our borders. Protecting our borders have so many impacts on our lives. The increases in drug-related crime, the fentanyl crisis, increases in gang crimes, the high costs of the humanitarian crisis, human sex trafficking, and the potential for terrorists to enter unimpeded. These are all legitimate concerns and justifications for closing the border. The GOP needs to continue to push back against the incompetence of the Biden administration in this critical area. To be clear, it is not all incompetence; some of these policies are intentional. Dems believe that they are increasing their voting block. Ukraine, need I say more. Biden’s policies look almost like cowardice. To

be fair, though, Trump pointed out the vast corruption in Ukraine and Russia. Allowing Putin to move through another country unimpeded is unconscionable. No matter their opinion of Trump, Putin would not have done this while he was President. The GOP must consistently push on these related issues. Crime in our cities is at an all-time high while, at the same time, attacks on police are driving police force numbers through the floor. Ironically, while Dems cry about the proliferation of gun crimes and demand more gun control. Dems administrations at all levels have an abysmal record of prosecuting those gun crimes. It is almost as if they want the crime. Rather than passing new, albeit useless, gun control measures, the GOP must push for more prosecutions and stiffer penalties for gun crime offenses. Any crime is a matter of the heart, economics, and community. These are the factors that the GOP leadership must work to remedy. The economy, which has many moving parts, must be a priority. Submit better budgets. Push for data-based, efficient, and practical standards for programs. Submit a balanced budget, even though it will not pass, in the current makeup of the CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 59 | PAGE 30

House. Just to show the American people what it could look like. The spending is out of control, and the pressure that spending is putting on inflation negates any gains from the “free money” handed out. People at all levels would be better off with a balanced budget in the long term.

denies an individual/s from providing that service, and that always denies happiness. True freedom is economic freedom, plain and simple. I am not suggesting that no regulation or laws should be in place by our Government or that some sort of capitalistic anarchy is a viable economic construct.

The Republican party must return to the core competencies it started with. In 1854 the GOP was formed mainly to free a group of people. While slavery has ended, the shackles remain in some cases. Not to mention that the largesse and complications of our Government are creating new groups of people who need freedom. Through over-regulation, excess taxation, and encroachment on liberties, the current entanglements of this Government deny many people their happiness, as defined in the Constitution. Your happiness is your American Dream. When we use the Government to ‘fix” problems, we ask the Government to decide our happiness and regulate the American dream. Where is the Constitutional Liberty in that? If Government is the chosen answer, that will preclude any other option from being presented. Nothing can compete with the Government. Every time the Government is supplying the product or service, which

Remember, your effort’s fruit is your money, produce, product, and labor. You should be able to enjoy it as much as possible. Stuff does not equal happiness. Instead, the pride in your work and the various joys that can bring us happiness are what you have a right to pursue. Think of it this way – the economy affects everyone; some have more, some have less, and some have none. Like pie at the dinner table, the freedom one enjoys can depend on the amount of pie one has. The plan then becomes one of sharing or redistributing pie. In the liberal view, there is always a finite amount of pie. In a world with a limited amount of pie, there is only one way for people to have more pie….redistribute and regulate pie. Sadly, Liberals never see the ability to grow and produce more of anything. varieties, more flavors, more! Conservatives believe that more pie can always be made and improved. To be realistic, I am wholly appreciative that any bill containing any of the above would be vetoed if passed. It will be unlikely that the Red Wave will be large enough to have a majority that can override such a veto. OK. Do it anyway, show the people we mean business…the people’s business. The business of expanding freedoms, including economic freedoms. Even when Biden vetoes these bills and even when you can not override these vetos, the people will see the dedication to fixing the issues at hand and that Biden is the obstructionist. Following this course of action will set the stage for the need for a GOP President in 2024

“I’M AS MAD AS HELL…..” By Mickey Nichols Is it just me or has the whole world (especially our dear US of A) gone completely nuts? The announcement came yesterday that our current incompetent, senile, and America-hating administration has formed a government sponsored and backed speech determining department headed up by the Department of Homeland Security tasked with “finding and fighting” both mis and dis information. To assign the responsibility of whether a certain kind of speech is either a “hate crime” or perhaps even domestic terrorism to some government bureaucrat is sheer madness! If this doesn’t smack of 1930’s Germany and present day Russia and China then it certainly fools me. Maybe our leaders feel that they simply don’t have enough existing power in order to quell the rising tide of dissent that now peeks over the horizon and threatens their nearly 100% control of idea dissemination through their very willing lackeys in the drive-by

media. It is no coincidence that this formation of a new organization to inhibit thought and speech control comes swiftly on the heels of the purchase of Twitter by a truly “free speech” truist. The loss of the ability to manipulate and control the liberalagenda spreading media giant has wreaked havoc within the “woke” crowd! This is confirmed by the number of leftists who have already stated that they are closing their Twitter accounts because, according to them, they no longer feel “relevant”. What they mean is that they don’t want a platform where ideas are discussed and promoted that don’t agree with their agendas! These people are messing with the very fabric of our freedoms when they try to overrun and trample the First Amendment and we as Americans are obligated to fight this extreme governmental overreach with all our combined power! CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 34

I am reminded of the old movie where the demented TV anchorman encourages the whole nation to shout out their window, “I’m mad as hell and I am not going to take it any more!” Well, I think that make believe movie time has become real time for us in this country. This latest attempt at monitoring free speech and perhaps even going as far as arresting and punishing anyone who openly disagrees with their thinking under the guise of “hate crimes” or domestic terrorism deserves no less than all of our open scorn of both the idea and the ones who promote this evilness. November cannot come soon enough to vote this present cadre of fools out of power!. The Bible speaks of this type of people when it says “professing themselves to be wise they became as fools.” And this latest madness by this administration has come hard on the heels of other foolhardy ideas such as wokeness in business in the form of “social function”, CRT, BLM, social justice, inclusion, diversity, eccuminism in religion, and a whole litany of any and every whim that may occur to anyone on any given day. All of these are simply code words straight out of the pits of hell conceived by communistic or America-hating people

who want nothing more than to overthrow the greatest nation that has ever existed upon this earth. Businesses and corporations are being bullied into submission by elites in the media and from Hollywood into donating and supporting these outlandish ideas to the tune of tens of millions of dollars that allow these pseudo “charities” to continue to propagate and promote their anti-American rubbish. Do I sound angry? You bet your bottom centavo that I am angry!! We are scolded by these high-minded socialistic “scientists” if we don’t “follow the science” and in their very next breath they tell us and want us to believe that a man can give birth. Hah! These are the very same people who throw a tantrum if a gentleman has the gall to simply open a door for a lady or perhaps stand when a lady enters a room. The victory that was won in the battle for equality in college or high school athletics that was finally achieved by the passing of Title IX is now being shattered by desperate males posing as women competing against females. How convoluted can we get?!? And school teachers and administrators providing an “identity closet” where little boys and girls can leave their CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 35

homes dressed as Mom and Dad would have them dressed and then change these little ones into clothing that befits whatever they feel like on a particular day. I say this is child abuse and child porn of the highest order! Arrests, conviction, and punishment should be the result of this perversion and any person participating in this type of behavior should have to serve hard time and definitely be banned from any contact with children in the future. Communist China keeps such close tabs on all their citizens that everyone receives a “social score” given by governmental overseers based on the activities and speech of each person. Jobs, careers, marriage, number of children, and virtually all other decisions in life are determined by these “scores”. If one should disagree with authorities or openly voice opinions that differ from the rulers’ agenda then the “social score” drops accordingly and swift retribution is in order. If the dissenter is vocal too often or too loud then many times the citizen simply disappears. Dictators and brutal regimes have followed these dictates since time immemorial. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Papa Doc, Amin, Chavez, Pol Pot, and countless other despots come to mind. Hundreds of millions of

people have been slaughtered at the whim of these Godless men. And there have been Godless women also! I’ll let you google them. Are we close to this happening in the USA? Could it truly happen here? Well, the first step is the control of speech. The sacredness of free speech is the reason the First Amendment to the Constitution is first! If free speech goes, everything else follows. The Second Amendment has been under attack for years so I would have us all remember why this Amendment was passed: to protect us from our own government! Pogo had it right after all: “I have seen the enemy and it is us.” We have heard the following axioms: “ Every great civilization has fallen from within” and “No democracy has lasted longer than two centuries.” Are we on our deathbed? Are we breathing our last breaths? Can our beloved USA rise from our present state and stand tall again? It can happen. But only if the American people realize the horrible condition that we are now being choked by. A return to 1940’s and 1950’s morality. Realizing the depth of our nation’s depravity and begging God’s forgiveness. And the first place to start this “revolution” in America is in our CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 36

churches. Our pastors need to call sin sin. And our Christians need to live out their Christianity. And vote out the scoundrels! I could list a thousand things that I would personally like to see done but I would be satisfied if we start with these few things.

ELON MUSK BUYS TWITTER AND THE LIBERAL LEFT GOES APOPLECTIC!! By: K.T. Cooper

Lately, I've noted and read in various articles that people, mostly Conservatives and Republicans, are hoping that Elon Musk, being the richest man in the world, could buyout Facebook like he did Twitter. Sad to say the answer is a resounding: NO, NOPE, NO!!

In a TED conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, the interviewer, Chris Anderson inquired of Elon Musk if he could buyout Facebook. Musk who took a swipe at Zuckerberg said that Zuckerberg has an ironclad control of 'Meta' and said it's set up so that even "Mark Zuckerberg the 14th" will be in charge of Facebook and Instagram!! PLUS. . . Elon Musk compared Zuckerberg's role at Meta as that of a "Monarch." Zuckerberg, who founded Facebook 'owns' the majority of Meta's voting shares. As for media sort of ownership, I mean, you've got Mark Zuckerberg owning Facebook and Instagram and WhatsApp, and with a share ownership structure that will have Mark Zuckerberg the 14th still controlling those entities, Musk said. ['Verbatim'] "Like, literally," Musk added amid laughter from the audience. "We won't have that at Twitter." [Verbatim] Then on April 28, 2022, because of Musk's buyout of Twitter for 44 billion dollars, the White House announced that they plan on a: "Crackdown on Free Speech!" . . . Coincidence? Probably not!!! Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas announced that he has established a: "Mis&Disinformation" Governance Board" within the Department to more effectively combat this threat, not only to our Election Security but to our Homeland Security as well. ['Verbatim.'] -- DHS will crack down on free speech!! . . Mhm-mmm, it certainly appears the Liberal Left is trying to implement their socialist agenda by limiting Free Speech!! This information came from both Biden and Mayorkas. And in a White House briefing, Jen Psaki confirmed it to the reporters in the W.H. Press Room. What's next for this Governance Board Panel?? Building "Re-education Centers" like they have in China?? AN ASIDE: "Ohhh shudder the thought of a Zuckerberg the 14th." ((Ughhh... Okay Zuck, ready for a stint in FB jail, again.

MY LOVE FOR THE LORD’S PRAYER BY CHARLES LINGERFELT

THIS IS SO SAD TO ME …. After hearing that Facebook is saying that posting the Lord’s Prayer goes against their policies, I’m asking all Christians everywhere to please post the Lord’s Prayer on their Facebook page. I also asked this on my Facebook page in June 2020.

CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 45

“Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, Forever and ever, Amen.” CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 46

I first heard The Lord’s Prayer read to me when I was about nine years old. I was in a Sunday School class and the teacher read The Lord’s Prayer from the Book of St. Matthew. I was totally “impressed” with the prayer because the teacher told us that this was a prayer that Jesus prayed. I thought then, “My, how important is that – that we would have a prayer printed in The Bible that Jesus actually had prayed.” I went home after church and got down the big Family Bible and looked it up for myself in our Bible to find it for myself. And when I did, I underlined it so that I could locate it easily later when I looked for it again. The location of Scripture which I read and underlined was: St. Matthew 6:9, “Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our

debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, Forever and ever, Amen.” Though I didn’t understand all of the prayer, I did, however, begin to develop a deep appreciation of/for the prayer. Occasionally I would return to the Family Bible to look up the prayer again and read it more. The more I read the more I loved and appreciated it! I think at that time in my life the appreciation came to me mainly because it was a prayer of Jesus – one that He had taught us to pray. In our home, we were taught as kids to have a devout appreciation of The Bible, and when it came to the words of Jesus, and the Bibles we had in our home always had the words of Jesus in Red ink. To me as a kid, when I saw the words of Jesus in Red ink, it was always extremely holy for me. I loved and revered the words of Jesus in the Scriptures. So, I grew up with a healthy respect for The Lord’s Prayer. When I got into the Fourth Grade with Mrs. Edison Brown as my teacher, the Gideons came by our school one day to visit our class and leave with every student in our class a copy of The CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 47

New Testament. I, of course, was the recipient of one of those copies of The Gideon New Testament. It was a small and thin copy, about 5” by 7”, and was a Maroon copy. I carried it home with me at the end of the school day in hand with my schoolbooks, and it meant so much to me. When I arrived home I went directly to my room, where my brother and I slept each night, placed my schoolbooks on our dresser, and took the Gideon New Testament into my hand and laid back onto the bed in a sit-up position, and began to read. I started with St. Matthew, Chapter 1, and read several chapters in that sitting. I remember distinctly reading ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ in that sitting before being called to the dinner table. Again, it was during these readings in my early childhood years that I developed a love and respect for this prayer that Jesus taught us to pray. Through the years I have learned that there are many other prayers recorded throughout The Bible, but it is quite probably true that there is No other prayer that has had such an impact upon my life as this prayer: ‘The Lord’s Prayer.’

The Lord’s Prayer is the Model Prayer This prayer has become known to us as, ‘The Model Prayer’ and it is the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray. Not only did Matthew record the Prayer in his Gospel to the Jew, but Luke the Physician also recorded it as well in his Gospel. (Matthew 6:5-15 and Luke 11:1-4) In Matthew’s Gospel the Lord’s Prayer occurs in the Sermon on the Mount. The Sermon was the longest recorded message of Yeshua (Jesus) and was his moral and ethical teaching and is recorded in Matthew 5 through 7. The message was brought on by the growing popularity of Yeshua (Matthew 4:25). The thing which attracted so many people to Yeshua at first was his healing ministry. People were utterly amazed at all the healings surrounding his earthly ministry. Then when Jesus would begin to teach the people, they would remain to hear what Jesus had to say. The people were also impressed with the authority with which He taught. Although many people heard the Sermon on the Mount, it was primarily directed to His disciples. CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 48

In His sermon, and therefore in His prayer, He emphasized that prayer should not be used solely to get God’s attention by repeating words. Rather, it should be a quiet, confident expression of needs to our heavenly Father. Our attitude in prayer is to be important; and in the Sermon, on the Mount, he shows his disciples how to pray. In the Gospel of Luke, the disciples saw Jesus praying, and they asked Him to teach them. The emphasis in Luke’s Gospel here is on what to pray (Luke 11:2). It is good to use the Lord’s Prayer as a guide, a Model, and to repeat its words as well. The first part of the prayer concerns the glory of God. We call Him “Father,” a term of endearment which only His children by faith in Christ may rightly use. We request that God’s name be “hallowed,” or honored as holy. It is the mission of God’s people to spread the reputation of His name throughout the world (Ezekiel 36:22, 23). Next, we make the request for God’s kingdom to come. This means that we acknowledge that God is the ruler of the world and we obey His will. His will shall be done perfectly when our Lord returns to this earth in His ‘Second Coming.’

Requests relating to our own needs include food for each day, forgiveness, and help in times of temptation. Workers in Jesus’ time were usually hired day by day. They all knew what their daily needs were. Our forgiveness for sin comes only through the death of Jesus Christ upon the cross – the ‘Supreme Sacrifice’ for all humanity. Our experience of that forgiveness requires us not to hold things against others and not to deny God’s forgiveness. “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” means, “Do not allow us to be tested so that we fall into sin, but save us from the power of the Evil One (Satan). The conclusion of The Lord’s Prayer attributes all praise and glory to God forever, throughout all eternity. This part of the prayer should be clearly evident in our lives each day as we seek to do God’s will on this earth as His disciples. Jesus knew in His heart and was constantly cognizant of the fact that His earthly ministry would soon come to a close. He knew he was ‘on route to Jerusalem’ and what was awaiting Him there. CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 49

The Entry into Jerusalem The arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem on a Sunday morning must have been an impressive sight. The crowds were full of excitement and lined the streets, waving palm branches and shouting Hosanna! A battalion of Roman soldiers looked on suspiciously. And suddenly from the top of the Mount of Olives, the Messiah appeared! But why was Jesus riding a donkey? Even Jesus’ disciples were puzzled by his mode of transportation (John 12:16). The Donkey Was More Than a Beast of Burden Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem on a donkey strikes many modern readers as odd. Today we think of donkeys as stubborn pack animals, hardly suitable for a royal procession. If Jesus was indeed the Messianic King arriving in his royal capital of Jerusalem, shouldn’t he have been riding a horse-drawn chariot? Not at all. In the ancient world of the Bible, the Hebrew word for “donkey” Hamor (‫ֲ( וֹרחמ‬had a much nobler meaning. Ancient Prophecy Fulfilled Both Matthew and John explain that it was necessary for Jesus to ride a donkey to fulfill the Hebrew Scriptures.

Centuries earlier, the prophet Zechariah had predicted that the Messiah would enter Jerusalem “righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey” (Zech. 9:9). In ancient Israel, donkeys were a symbol of peace and humility. Abraham and Jacob both rode donkeys. The kings of Israel would ride a white donkey (Judg. 5:10). We Are Herewith Rediscovering the wonders of the Scriptures It would have been unthinkable for Jesus to ride a horse, which was a military animal, ridden by foreign kings coming to conquer Israel. The Egyptians, Assyrians, and Babylonians – all had instilled a deep fear of horses in the hearts of Israel. By choosing a donkey, Jesus sought to reassure the city of Jerusalem that his kingship would be one of humility, peace, and salvation. It was through ‘My Love For The Lord’s Prayer’ that God began to teach me, as a young lad, a definite love for the Scriptures and to impute within me a strong desire to know them more effectually – even to this very day in my life. And it is because of this love for the holy Scriptures that I have had a CHRISTIAN TIMES MAGAZINE ISSUE 58 | PAGE 50

desire to send them and their Truth to the far corners of the earth. When God became “real to me at 14” and filled me with His Spirit at age 15, I began my lifelong love for Him and His word – and I decided to have an influence upon the world through the propagation of His word to ‘All nations and peoples’ throughout the earth. Today, in the year of our Lord 2020, I am still “out on the Battlefield” and in the forefront of others, “Trying to Make a Difference” with my life – all because I found a love for The Lord’s Prayer at an early age.
