LINA TEIX
Born and raised in Montreal, Canada to Portuguese parents, Lina Teixeira now resides in Dunedin, Florida. She is a master in multi-tasking: a busy mum of two, business owner, published author, special concepts director, and a wearable art designer.
Lina's passion for turning the everyday mundane in to beautiful forms of wearable art has led her designs to an international audience, being featured in local news media and various public forums. Her art has been featured at the Mahaffey Theater and the Museum of Fine Art in St Petersburg where her work has been consistently sought out by fellow artists in the industry as well as media, recently taking on private clients who commission her wearable art for advertising, promotion and branding. With each of her garments being crafted with the most unusual, eyecatching, and sometimes, edible materials, Lina provides the world with something truly special. Featuring in publications such as Largo Leader, Blur and Tampa Bay, this talented individual is certainly getting the attention she deserves.

After working with James for quite some time, showcasing his work on these pages in several issues, we were finally able to grab time in his extremely busy schedule to interview him. We wanted to delve into his hopes and dreams, and most importantly about his photography and what he seens in his future. We know for sure it's going to be a successful one.

It's all about the Beach!
Model Lauren Campise Photographer A1Pixels Photo Hair Dianna Prince Wardrobe Dianna Prince's Pin Up Closet via The Dianna Prince Pin Up Academy Location Ocean Beach, CA
Ocean Beach in California is a beautiful place to be. The vibe is laid back with different kinds of people hanging out: surfers arriving at dawn, the locals walking their dogs and always plenty tourists. You can easily spend all day down there! On this pin up beach based shoot I styled model Lauren's hair in a quirky parted flip, perfect for the beach! Her wardrobe was a cute little monochrome polka dot dress with a yellow trim so I styled the look up with 50s yellow trimmed cat eye glasses, a small yellow hair clip and tons of hair spray! Brightly coloured scoops of ice cream on a wafer cone was the order of the day. I adore cheesecake pin up, modeling it myself and dolling up glam girls the same style! I feel hair is the most important aspect when creating a pin up look, as well wardrobe and props.
Who is Dianna Prince?
I am Dianna Prince: owner, instructor, set decorator and wardrobe and hair stylist for the Dianna Prince Pin Up Academy, which is located in San Diego, California. Models and students get full fabulous looks from head to toe in many different styles within pin up: Rockabilly, Cheesecake, Vintage, Retro and more. I teach hair styling for those who want to learn. After I doll up a model, I give her facial expressions instruction and posing instruction. I love teaching and giving tips on booking paid shoots, getting published in magazines and books as well as investing in your career on a budget. I value all the photographers who shoot for my academy and all the dolls who take private work shops and attend group events. As a professional pin up model myself, I find that adds to the value of my academy. You can find my work on facebook at Dianna Prince Fan Metro

Jagged Edge Vintage is an online store run by keen fashionista, Claire Rowan. Unlike
many designers, Claire didn’t originally dream of a career in the fashion industry. It wasn’t until the recession hit, when she was made redundant from her job as a kitchen designer, where she then made the transition to clothing. After toying with the various aspects of fashion, and wanting a business that stood out from the rest, she decided upon customised denim after familiarising herself with the exploding trend over in the US.
Kitchen to Couture After developing the brand and its products for close to a year, Jagged Edge Vintage then joined the world of social media. Since then, the brand has moved from strength to strength, attracting the attention of many celebrities along the way. A bespoke brand, Jagged Edge Vintage provides customers with full control over customisation, with everything from the design and cut to the colour, level of distress and stud placement. This means each client is left with a pair of shorts unique to them, unlike any others on the market. Experimentation and diversity are two of the key traits Claire feels make a good designer – both of which she clearly obtains.

Achraf Baznani: Conceptual Portrait Photographer www.baznani.com
Moroccan based Achraf Baznani developed an interest in the art of photography from a young age after being given an EKTRA compact 250 in his youth. Instantly hooked on imagery and film, Achraf was inspired to create his own photographic art. Entirely self-taught, Achraf has proven his own unique style, an abstract ideology he portrays in each image. This talent has led him to release a number of award winning documentaries and short films including, ‘On’, ‘The Forgotten’ and ‘Immigrant’. His book launch, ‘Through my lens’ is his most recent success, featuring snippets of his eye-catching work along with the journey of his successful career. From landscape and animals to portrait and art, there’s something to captivate everyone.
Inspiration
Conceptual photography is when the photographer is conveying a message to the viewer through multi dimensional imagery. The message may be a political advert, a social commentary or an emotional outcry. There is some level of abstraction in my own works: the image is not an explicit example of the concept, but a general expression of the idea. Conceptual photography makes healthy use of graphical symbols to represent ideas, movements, moods, anything and everything that the photographer might want to include in the message of their photograph. For my works, there are a variety of ways a concept falls into place, most often it starts with a spark of inspiration and grows from there, whether it is a person, design, story that needs to be told, regardless, it all starts with a single point. From there it becomes simple problem solving. I don’t spend very much time looking at what other people are doing. I like to stay aware and connected by following sites such as Flickr.. but beyond that, I spend the rest of my time meeting people, creating, and really just living life. I think the best way to being inspired is not to just try to emulate others, but to find what inspires you in life and trying to capture and share it. I use Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 4. I use Lightroom to correct and change the colorimetry pictures. Then I go on to the most important, Photoshop retouching. To learn how to master these tools, I spent hours in front of my computer studying tutorials on the Internet.

Dominika Wenz - Model - UK
Photographer Bob Cartwright
UK based Dominika Wenz began a career in modelling twelve years ago after joining a local modelling agency in her native country of Poland. Following some experience on the catwalk, she then took a short break until being approached by photographer Piotr Szmigielski. After developing her portfolio with various skilled photographers, she then moved to the UK, where she has continued to grow as a model. After experimenting with different styles of modelling, from glamour to artistic nude, she quickly came to realise that her passion lies in the beauty and fashion side of the industry. Creativity, respect and professionalism are three of the key traits Dominka believes makes a good model, along with having a great sense of humour. From looking through her full, and equally beautiful portfolio, her favourite shoots prove to be a toss-up between a recent with photographer Wayne Lawes, along with Eddie Cheng. With her fair complexion, flowing locks and striking blue eyes, Dominka is a true beauty.

Lilika Eden - Sustainable Design www.lillika-eden.de
Julia Muthig, head designer at LILLIKA EDEN, began developing her passion for fashion from the tender age of fourteen. After initially designing and producing garments, she went on to study her diploma, resulting in the launch of her own clothing line. Centred around producing designs using local, sustainable materials, Lilika Eden provides it’s customers with everything from daywear and evening to bridal and accessories. The ability to combine both modern, current trends with sustainable materials proves to be the most time consuming factor for Julia and her team when creating each collection. With inspiration coming not only from the catwalk, but taking a heavy influence from scenic landscapes. Wolfgang Joop, Stella McCartney and Dolce and Gabbana are among a few of the designer's favourites, attributed to their striking shows and eco credentials.

Jody Wright - Fashion Photographer
www.facebook.com/WrightApertureImages I'm Jody Wright, of Wright Aperture Images. I have been taking photography seriously for around two years and love every second of it: creating photos that are different or stand out in some way shape or form. Everything I know about photography is self taught with some help from the web. I had always enjoyed taking photos but the thought of having an SLR for some reason scared me (too many buttons and functions that I knew nothing about). Then about four years ago I just went for it and bought a Canon 450D, which led me onto a Canon 7D. After a good while playing around with experimentation I decided to take photography a bit more serious and I haven’t looked back since. I don’t have a specific style, I just love shooting and working with people. It’s a buzz that I can not describe! I get excited about any ideas that models come up with and tend not to be able to sleep when I get an idea of my own. Shooting on location is my favourite set as there is so much more to play with and although the model is my main focus I do like to have some detail in the background rather than white or black. Generally my prep is pretty simple, I tend to visit the location a couple of days before to get a grasp of the area and see what the light is like at different times of the day. Other than that it’s a case of making sure all batteries are charged, lenses are cleaned and cards are formatted, and maybe a little prayer for good weather! Family and friends couldn’t be more supportive. Some have even been kind enough to come along and help, holding light reflectors or an umbrella if it's raining. I have just got back from four months traveling South America, but sadly didn’t get to do any model photography. I did, however, realise that I also love scenic photography so that was a bonus. There are so many things that make a good photographer: creativity, experience, a great eye for that cool shot and editing skills, but I think the most important thing when working with models is to be a personable photographer: talk to the model, laugh with the model, get to know their likes and dislikes. If you can't do this then the model will not feel comfortable working with you and this will always show in the photos!

Tasha-Leigh Hooper -Alternative Fashion Model www.facebook.com/tashaleighmodel
Photographer PhotoGun Photography Model/MUA Tasha-Leigh Alt Model Hair Stylist/Colour JJ Bennett
What is your name and where are you based? My name is Tasha-Leigh Hooper and I am based in Worthing, West Sussex. How did you get into modelling and how long have you been doing it? I have been modelling for just 6 months now and broke into the industry by being scouted and sent for a test shoot. I then began to contact local photographers to arrange more shoots and became a freelance Alternative Model. Have you modelled for any well known brands or names? I have modelled for some small business clothing ranges such as suicidetuesdays.bigcartel.com and Monkey Snatch Clothing. Do you prefer working on location or in a studio? I do love working on location but I think I will always prefer working from a studio as it's always a bit more comfortable and you can control the temperature instead of freezing your bum off on a beach in February! What do your friends and family think of you being a model? My friends and family are very supportive. Since the day I decided I wanted to venture into modelling they have done nothing but help me live my dream and bring it to life. What is the furthest place you have travelled for a shoot? So far the furthest place I have travelled is London but I have shoots booked in the near future in Stoke on Trent and Essex. I do like travelling for shoots, seeing new locations and meeting new photographers. What preparations do you do before a shoot? I always make sure I eat and sleep well and drink plenty of water the day before a shoot so I am always looking and feeling my best. What do you think makes a good model? I think it's important to have a creative touch and be 100% reliable and dedicated. Modelling is a passion and its important to let that shine through in your images. What's your favourite shoot you have ever done? My favourite so far has to be the 'Candy Shoot'. It was such a creative shoot with a brilliant outcome. It was a lot of fun and I got to rock pink hair! To all my friends and family that have supported me - my fiancĂŠ who has been my rock - all the lovely photographers, make up artists and hair stylists I have had the pleasure of working with along the way - I'd like to say a special thank you to Steve Davey of PhotoGun Photography who has worked with me time and time again and put up with my creatively messy brain to achieve the perfect shot which he always achieves!
