First, it's my pleasure to get published by CT magazine, the only one I know who really gives a shot for artists to show themselves and get exposure. My name is Moran Elbaz, I'm 24 years old and a fashion photographer and makeup artist based in Israel. I like to try everything, I'm open minded while I strive for success in everything I do. It's important for me to keep doing what I love for a living. I started shooting a year ago as a party photographer, then I moved on till I loved what I did and that's how I started with fashion. By working with many models over this time I've become a talent scout. Right now I'm representing seventeen year old Karin Domnits. She has a soft doll-like face yet still can bring a tough and edgy look on set. My portfolio is a collection of different works: * A catalogue for a local wedding gown designer * Beauty shots for a MUA competition * My own productions I like to create and as much as possible, stay unique. My will is to fit in magazines and start working with People from industry in israel and around the world. elbaz.moran@gmail.com 足 www.instagram.com/moran_elbaz www.facebook.com/moranElbazMakeup

After working with James for quite some time, showcasing his work on these pages in several issues, we were finally able to grab time in his extremely busy schedule to interview him. We wanted to delve into his hopes and dreams, and most importantly about his photography and what he seens in his future. We know for sure it's going to be a successful one.

She flowed technically. No cheap flow technology From the breath of her breast. From the wisdom of her chest The company of her husky voice. The thrill of her open mouth Caressing words, a shy smile. A happy smile The curve of her waving arms blown by the breeze. Utterly mesmerised as I watch her, Nature her muse and hero, stereotypical zero, The greenery a background of freedom and fun and she embodies it Just like the ant she allows to dance across her hand, the tickle so soft so sensual, the mystery that lies behind her eyes, as she wrestles for my attention with the innocence of a child.

Sex, Booze and Tattoos Photography and Editorial by Steve Davey facebook.com/photogunphotography

Photographer Steve Davey Model Stela Yordanova

4 Beers, a midnight conversation and a couple of pictures later.... I'm writing an editorial about myself! Holy Sh*t, I can't write! I couldn't explain to you the difference between a colon and a semi colon...

Steve Davey - Stela Yordanova

What people think: you're a photographer, your life must be parties, sex, booze and tattoos. What the reality is: days and nights in front of the computer, thousands of cups of coffee and social media overload where it all blurs into one. Trying to keep up with advertising yourself and making sure your latest images are being seen in all the right places.

If a Photo doesnt pop, it will never pop, no matter how much time or photoshop you spend on it.

Photographer Steve Davey Model Stela Yordanova I'm just your common-or-garden working photographer. I`ll photograph your dog, your cat, your Great Aunt Nellie and apart from blocking out all the self doubt and hating on every single image I produce, I just work and work; always trying to produce better and better images. Always trying to improve and yes, impress.

My work goes from serious portraits all the way to fashion art-nude. Can I pin myself down into a genre? No not really, I think I would find that too constricting and boring. If there was one thing I would like to be known for that would be my use of lighting on shoots, which is where I believe I excel. My thought process is always "how can I light this subject that's different to others?" No matter what I am photographing that is always my first thought, be it a dog called Eddie or a 1.8 metre model wearing a designer bikini.

Photographer Steve Davey Model Emma Shadbolt

I do try to push myself. The harder the job, the more complicated, the better. Do I fail? Yes, often, we all do. When you nail just that one frame it's a rush, your heart beats that bit faster and you feel like celebrating. In my work I always try to keep it clean. I don't mean suburbia clean, I mean uncluttered, complementary colours and the use of negative space. A strong visual punch. If a photo doesn't pop, it will never pop, no matter how much time or photoshop you spend on it.

I came to England from Poland in 2007 and this was one of the most challenging aspects of my life. I needed to leave my family, friends and the comfort of my well know life behind, but my passion, strong interest and excitement pushed me and I went for it. I have overcome challenges such as difficulties in language, environment and cultural differences. Since living in this country my interest in photography, fashion and art has developed as my work features the cultural and environmental differences between United Kingdom and my home country, which I find fascinating. That's why I'm inspired by people who are confident and never give up to achieve their goals. People who are not afraid to be different and colourful....those kinds of people are usually my models. From a very young age I have been fascinated by the world of fashion and photography. I got my first camera when I was 13 years old and at the beginning it was just for fun. As I grew up photography become my passion. I believe that photography is not about having a nice camera and a perfect model to take photo of. For me, it's more about ability to capture beauty, express emotions and make all the photos a magical break from the every day form. For me, photos are almost a live form of art and behind them are hidden stories, moments of ours lives with thousands of meanings for each of us. As a life-loving woman of uncommon sensitivity I try to produce the photos that encourage people to discover the beauty of life itself and bring more joy into the word. My inspirations are people who are not afraid to be different and colourful. People who are confident and never give up to achieve they goals.

I am a 22 year old self-taught photographer. My interest in photography began in early 2010 where I started taking photographs with a basic point and shoot camera. My passion grew and by the end of 2010 I was given my first SLR camera as a gift, which has served me well all these years. I feel as if I am continously learning more and more with regards to my photography. My main line of interest is capturing the beauty in life, the beauty of emotions: happiness, love, nature and so forth. There is something beautiful about capturing a moment in time. Therefore family portraiture, couple shoots, newborn photography are all genres I am interested in. For a long time I admitedly didn't think I'd develop a large interest in fashion photography or go down this route but this is something I have slowly found interest in as time has passed. I have 2 years experience as a petite model, which I feel serves me well in the fashion industry. I find myself naturally knowing the best poses for a shoot and find inspiration from shoots I have done myself in the past. I haven't swapped modelling for photography, modelling is something I'd still very much like to do in the future as it's something I really enjoy doing. I really enjoy being both in front of and behind the camera; both give very different enjoyable experiences.

Andromeda Quinn - Model

www.facebook.com/andromedaquinn Hi there, my name is Andromeda Quinn and I am based in Newcastle. I got into modelling about 6 months ago now and I actually started out totally by accident. I went to a convention dressed as Harley Quinn (see what I did there) from Batman and started walking around looking at all of the stalls and enjoying the live music that was taking place when I had a tap on the shoulder. I got asked if I was a model or thought about modelling. It was a photographer, and he asked if I'd help him with a cosplay idea, and so it all started from there. I do many different styles of modelling: cosplays, pinup and fashion. I have so many ideas that I like to use in shoots. I enjoy both location and studio shoots as I like variety. I love being able to meet new people and create different ideas and also learning what I am capable of not only with poses but facial expressions and making my own ideas come to life. There is nothing more rewarding then hearing from other people how well I am doing and that they would like to work with me, this gives me a great sense of achievement knowing that others have noticed work that I have done with other photographers. My friends and family are very supportive of me and my modelling, always asking me about what I’ve been doing on the shoots and always commenting on images of me picking their favourites. I am extremely happy and lucky to have such a supportive family that loves seeing the results of my shoots. The furthest place I have travelled for a shoot is to Middlesbrough which was awesome and quite liked the thought of working outside of Newcastle and networking with a make-up artist that did my make-up for me and being able to work in a beautiful location that I hadn’t seen before. My personal preparations before a shoot are double checking everything including my bags, place and time of the shoot. Also I always have my little Harley Quinn voodoo doll with me as it has great sentimental value to me as it holds a reminder of how all of this started, which sounds cheesy, but it’s a nice reminder for me. I think that models need to be versatile, not afraid of going that extra step for that perfect image. I also think models should be able to make many different faces depending on the look you’re going for, which I always try to exaggerate in shoots to make it more interesting. Just basically don’t be afraid to try different styles as you may be surprised. My advice is to try anything once but never cross your own boundaries. Some of my favourite shoots are the cosplay because I find it interesting to take on another persona and be someone else, really get into character for the images. The more quirky the shoot the better in my opinion because then I am not doing the same kind of shoot. Modelling for me is a way of expressing my creativity and showing all different sides of me through images. My favourite fashion designer has to be Pretty Macabre, as she makes some of the most beautiful gothic pieces that are just amazing to look at and have an almost horror twist to them which I love. I love the look of alternative fashion as it is different and quirky which describes me perfectly.

Porcelain Raven - Fashion Model - Midlands UK www.facebook.com/Charlotte.B.Model

What is your name and where are you based? My name is Porcelain Raven, I am based in the Midlands, England, UK. How did you get into modelling and how long have you been doing it? I began modeling many years ago. I was 17 and just lost almost 4 stone and decided to celebrate by having a photoshoot. I used the photos for a competition and came third in Miss Midlands. It just went from there. So all in all, almost 7 years now. What types of modelling do you do? I range in so many categories of modeling. I am catwalk trained and have done a few London Fashion Week shows, though I'd say I specialise in alternative work. One day, I am in high end fashion dresses, the following day, latex and eyeliner. I love it all so much! Have you modelled for any well known brands or names? I have modelled for a few companies now, including Lewis Duncan Wheedon amongst many other fabulous London Fashion Week designers. I have also worked with Kim West clothing, Rockabilly Clothing, Catalyst Latex (whom are good friends), Geisha Wigs, Little Rubber Cherry‌ the list goes on! Do you prefer working on location or in a studio? Ahh good question! It absolutely depends on the type of shoot. If there is fabulous concept behind it, location work is amazing but certain work requires studio. But, in this warm weather, location is certainly better! What do your friends and family think of you being a model? My family were very wary at first as they were worried about me getting bullied. It does indeed happen but I have learnt now, those people need kicks to hurt others, it reflects upon them, not me.

Photographer Mollie Rose Assistants Millie Hampson, Laura Baker Stylist and Designer Verity Photographer Phil DCooper ModelsModel YasminPorcelain Minto, Ona Estape Cortes Raven Location Paris, France

What is the furthest place you have travelled for a shoot? Paris! Most certainly, that was mind blowing and so sensational. I had never been on a plane before, until then! I will never forget that experience.

What preparations do you do before a shoot? Oh my, I put in so much preparation! I need times/locations/addresses/concepts all confirmed. That is a week or few days before the shoot. The day before, I ensure I drink lots of water so I'm all hydrated and pack my suitcase the night before. As well as buying train or plane tickets a few days or week before.

Photographer Phil D Model Porcelain Raven Location Paris, France

What do you think makes a good model? Someone who doesn’t need to bitch or bicker but believe in their passion without hurting others. A good model is someone who isn’t fussy, who does what their job requires and doesn’t become an “internet” model. To be able to vary their work, not have every image look the same. And expression. Expression is key. Which was your favourite shoot? There are so many! One of them has to be being put in a bath tub full of milk and trying to act all cool and calm when it was the middle of the summer and the milk STUNK! I also loved my shoot in Wakefield, a few years ago, when we had a quaint café closed down for a high end fashion shoot. It was fabulous. Who is your favourite fashion designer and why? I have to say Catalyst Latex. They have been some of my longest standing friends within this business and the same goes for Rockabilly Clothing too.

With my heavy 7 year background in modelling I'm also a model coach. This includes helping models find their “niche” and sell it to the correct market. I help find models paid work and contacts they require for magazines/make up artists/studios.

Angi Wallace - Fashion Photographer

I discovered a passion for photography 6 years ago quite by accident when I was given my first DSLR as a present. I threw myself into the challenge of using my new toy only on the manual settings and from that moment on I was forever lost to the world of photography and imagery. Ever since that life changing moment I have been challenging myself to try new techniques and genres constantly. There is just so much to learn and try in photography that I am permanently excited and passionate about it. Life is never dull for me when I have a camera or photoshop at hand. I have a love of nature, the weather, the environment and elements, which has highly influenced what has become my style. Firstly in photographing plant life and animals, but now this has reached into my people photography. I have a need to bring together elements of the environment with portraits and lately this has become suffused with my curiosity and enjoyment of fantasy and folklore/myths. So this is where my photography journey is naturally taking me, creating my own stories within my images.

Photographer Angi Wallace Model Charlotte Felski MUA Delilah Rose

I have once produced images for Canon and was responsible for shooting the 650D campaign for the Indonesia/Malaysia region. My favourite photoshoot to date would be the shoot resulting in Spellbound and Undine. It was a chilly, rainy, muddy day and yet we still made wonderful images despite the weather, getting in the river and creating cobwebs within treeroots. I like to have fun on shoots; once I pulled out this wedding dress, threw it in a muddy puddle and started jumping up and down on it, squishing it into the dirt, when a family passed and I invited the kids to join me with their wellies. They looked a little scared of the mad photographer lady playing with a dress in the mud! Another favourite shoot I just had to play in the giant birds nest filled with feathers once we had finished - no, I'm not sharing those behind the scenes shots!

I've always been interested in fashion and photography, but it wasn't until last year that I stepped the other side of the lens for the first time. Modelling was never something I imagined myself doing but it has helped me to grow and become more confident in myself. I've had to step out of my comfort zone and face my fears a lot of the time. Having to look at photos of yourself can be stressful, all your flaws laid bare for everyone else to see. You're exposing yourself, sometimes on a very personal and intimate level, and I've had to learn to accept my appearance and try to love myself a bit more because of that. I wasn't one of the pretty girls at school - I was shy, wasn't into things they were into like makeup and generally kept myself to myself. I also struggled with my weight in the past - as I'm sure many other girls have - but modelling has shown me that it doesn't matter what size body you've got. There are so many beautiful models in the industry and they all come in different shapes and sizes - what makes them talented is having that sparkle and confidence in their personality to really connect with the audience and the determination to get that winning shot. I hope I can inspire others that beauty is only what you define it to be, everyone has it in them to be beautiful you just have to let yourself be. From a young age, I always loved taking photographs. I had a little 110 film camera I’d take snapshots with of my friends and family. I think there came a point when I really wanted to keep hold of the memories of people I connected with and delve into my creative side. I grew up in a pretty small town where everyone knows everyone and getting out of that bubble seemed to be out of reach. My life changed dramatically when I moved to San Francisco, where I was exposed to experiences both academically and culturally. Pursuing higher education for me was mostly about the connections I would make and not the actual degree, but I appreciated everything I learned. With my photography, I like to specialize in portrait and fashion work, but I have tried a bit of everything to see what felt was a right fit. Food photography is great but super time consuming getting every detail right since they are such tight shots. With fashion and portrait, personally I think the little imperfections actually lend more character. Events wise, I’ve done work at Crate and Barrel and for Betsey Johnson which was fun. I’ve collaborated with a lot of great local designers and jewellers, so it’s hard to choose who would be my number one dream client; perhaps Burberry - I love the colours and effortless style to their campaigns. When it comes to the setting of a shoot, it’s location all the way! Sure, in the studio there are a lot of advantages like controlled lighting, but I love feeling the vibe of new locations and learning their history. It’s a great way to explore your community as well. Before a photo shoot takes place, there’s a lot of steps involved. Conceptualizing, casting, recruiting team, wardrobe, location, weather checking, equipment, but it helps a lot when you have an assistant or have a list where everything is written down.

One of my favourites was with Oona Chaplin from Game of Thrones. It wasn’t a particularly perfect shoot, but it taught me a lot about improvising when things don’t go according to plan. Working with a celebrity was really fun, especially from a show I love. One of my favourite photographers is Tim Walker due to his beautiful style and imagery. I am also heavily inspired by love. A quote Coco Chanel said: “There is time for work, and there is time for love”. I think that’s what I like to capture with my subjects; a love for someone, something, or life in general.

Luckily, I’ve had the privilege of having super supportive family and friends. I think sometimes you don’t always feel that with fellow colleagues, but I get it. Everyone is trying to focus on their own thing. I just am happy to be doing something I love that people can enjoy as well.

I think my main bit of advice for newcomers to photography is don’t feel discouraged if you don’t know everything. A lot of things you learn are by experience, so just shoot as much as possible with others. You’ll see that the drive you have for your craft will attract others to work with you with the same energy. I think a good photographer always has passion for what they do. Keeping curious, creative, and problem solving are essential elements to this line of work and art.

Bethany Jade Fenton - Fashion Catwalk Model - Chesterfie I was spotted at the age of 3 by an agency in sheffield. My mum took me along to their studio for a few photos and shortly after I was sent for a casting in Manchester. My mum decided I was too young and shy so decided not to persue it. When I was 9 I was approached again by another agent and was signed up after an interview and test shoot. I've now been modelling for 5 years. I do a lot of fashion modelling and have my own feature in Natural Sparkle Magazine, for which I do a 'style file' every month featuring the latest high street fashion for teens. I love catwalk, if i could do it everyday i would. I was chosen to walk in a big event in Newark organized by the beautiful Natasha Labidi and Dean Skiba from Fairlytale Promotions featuring lots of local boutiques such as Lollypops, Gentebella and Izanagi and also in the 'here come the girls' fashion show in Scunthorpe where I walked for Tammy Girl. One of my first jobs at the age of 9 was for Sports Direct and I was featured in the catalogue. I was also the model for a big Moshi Monsters campaign for Smiffys Fancy Dress. I've featured in a CLS sofa advert, Bronte Country Clothing and various jobs for leaflets and school catalogues. I was also chosen as the junior face of Sharon's Couture at the age of 12 and also the face of Glitz 'N' Blitz Dancewear. My family are really proud of me, especially my mum. She's the one who takes care of everything for me so I owe her a lot. I hid it as much as I could from my friends at first as I wasn't sure what reaction I would get but I was soon spotted in the Sports Direct Catalogue and on the front of packaging for fancy dress, so the secret was out! They're all very supportive to be honest and because i've been doing modelling for so long now its just considered a normal thing. My mum is terrible, she makes sure I get well prepared before a shoot! I always drink plenty of water, eat well and do a lot of exercise to keep my skin looking healthy and keep my body in shape. I moisturise every day after a bath or shower and use a face moisturiser with an spf15 every morning. The night before a shoot I make sure everything I need is in one place, clothes are washed and ironed and all accessories are together. It's so important to be prepared so that the day of the shoot is stress free. I also wash my hair the night before, pluck my eyebrows and most importantly get plenty of sleep so I'm fresh and full of energy. A good model is organized, looks after their body and skin, is very professional and on time for jobs, constantly looking for ways to improve, asks for feedback from previous work and keeps up to date with the industry.

My favourite shoot was on location at a farm in Bedford, which was for an online clothing company called Pretty Whispers who specialise in whimsical clothes. It was timed for spring so we could work with the new-born animals. I loved it, there were new-born piglets, lambs and ducks which I got to hold for the shoot and also on the farm was mini shetland pony and a nanny goat that thought it was a dog and followed us everywhere. It was such a fun shoot. I owe a lot of gratitude to Steve Oatway, a very talented photographer who I work closely with. I met him in 2012 after seeing an advertisement for models. He asked me to come to his studio in Epworth for a test shoot and we have been working together ever since. He has some great ideas and we collaborate together in the studio and on location coming up with new ideas and concepts all the time. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank him for all the support he's given me and his fantastic work - he's a very talented man. I also work closely with Nikki Clifford, a very talented stylist at NJUK Beautiful Hair based in Chesterfield. She has worked at Liverpool fashion week styling for major high street designers such as Mango, New Look, Internacionale, Wallis, Boux Avenue and more so it's a fantastic opportunity for me to be working with a very talented lady.

Christina Latchem - Fashion Model - Reading

Christina Latchem is a UK based model living in the southern town of Reading. We recently sat down an grilled her on the tough world of the modelling industry.

Modelling has always sparked my interest since I was little. I would often watch shows like America’s Ne Top Model, and found myself to be a bit of a poser, though lacking confidence until I was a little older. One day I decided to search online 'fashion', and stumbled across Model Mayhem. I had my first shoo not long after.

I experiment with all types of modelling, from fashion and beauty, to swimwear and vintage. I would als happily do shows, be a ring girl, appear in music videos and events, too. I love doing fashion shows. I really want to try cosplay but finding affordable costumes without looking cheap can be difficult. I’ve competed in a number of established competitions during my time as a model, including Pretty Polly, where I made it as a finalist, and Veet, where I was a semi-finalist.

I find location shoots to be more exciting than studio based, though being in England it’s highly weathe dependent most of the time. Studio work can get boring sometimes, but there are some amazing sets out there which I’ve really enjoyed.

One of my favourite shoots has to be my most recent, at Murder Mile Studios. It was my first time workin with latex, and also my first time at a studio with loads of other models and photographers. It was hect and manic, but I loved it and was great fun. It definitely sparked my love for latex, too!

My friends and family have never really been supportive of my modelling, especially say, underwear shoots. They see them as degrading, which is pretty upsetting when you don’t have support in what you enjoy doing, especially when it’s given me some great opportunities and experiences. When it comes to the preparation side of things, I feel most women can relate to the dreaded shaving duties, so of course we have to shave everything, minimum of legs and underarms each time, and of course a good shower. Bringing nude underwear is always a must too, so any other accessories and things must be packed beforehand. I also like to research poses and ideas for the shoot.

Being a model requires a number of things. Everyone knows the basics of being punctual and polite, whilst variety is also good, along with being able to take direction. You also always need to be prepare to think on your feet, since some photographers leave EVERYTHING to you - no input whatsoever on pos If you can laugh it always makes the shoot go more smoothly and makes you feel more at ease.

It's so important for new models to be safe. Always bring a friend with you, it’s better to be over cautiou than under, as in time you will hear so many horrible stories. Stand your ground with levels you are comfortable with - don’t ever be bullied into doing something you don’t want to.

Fashion wise, my favourite high-end designer is Zac Posen. I’ve always loved his dresses, they are so flattering, elegant and beautiful. I personally love tight fitted clothing to enhance curves, so his style is right up my street. When it comes to the high street, however, my clothing brands of choice are Lipsy, Jane Norman and La Senza.

Monika Rys - Fashion Model - Southampton Southampton based model Monika began her career from a young age. As a ballroom dancer, looking pretty in front of the camera became second nature, resulting in many agency requests. Fast forward and she has been modelling for around six years. Specialising in glamour, fashion and editorial, her job has given her the opportunity to travel the world. Not only that, but her Polish-based agency has allowed her to collaborate with many successful brands. Although she agrees looks play a huge part in the success of a model, Monika feels creativity and self-confidence also prove to be a huge factor. Taking care of yourself is also incredibly important when working in such a competitive industry, so she prepares herself for each shoot with a combination of sleep, water and a good attitude. Out of the many shoots she has done, her ultimate is a collaboration between both herself and photographer, Michal Szelest, in London. Her favourite designer, however, is Chanel. Who knows, she may be bracing the fashion house's very own catwalk in the near future.

Daniel Moore developed an interest in photography from a young age. It wasn’t until meeting his wedding photographer back in 2012, however, that he realised his passion could be transformed into a career. Fast forward two years and the photographer has since set up his own company with friend Daniel Murray, by the name of Dnd Visuals. The brand specialises in everything from weddings and events to fashion and music videos, often working alongside Capital FM and famous faces, and although based in the UK, Dnd have also taken their talents overseas to America, where they filmed a New York city music video. A key source of inspiration comes from a photographer named Adam Kriedemann, the wedding photographer who initially encouraged Daniel to take his interest to the next level, and although a fully equipped home studio is already in existence, the two Daniels plan to open their own studio by the end of next year. With Dnd’s beautifully crisp style, it’s clear to see they’re going to take the photography world by storm.

What types of modelling do you do? I do fashion, creative, beauty, swimwear, and lingerie. Most jobs I get are editorial fashion and beauty based which I love. I also get to do a lot of very creative themed shoots which are always fun. I love doing something different every day. Photographer Darklens Photography Model Holly Alexander

Have you modelled for any well known brands or names? I was lucky enough to model some original pieces by designer Zandra Rhodes recently, which were gorgeous. I’ve also modelled Vivienne Westwood and Ted Baker for a party wear editorial. A lot of the time I model for local or new and upcoming designers and companies, anything from jewellery and headpieces, to urban clothing and swimwear.

What is your name and where are you based? I’m Holly Alexander and I’m based in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. How did you get into modelling and how long have you been doing it? I started out modelling back in 2008, just as a hobby at first whilst I was studying at university. I got into it by networking with local photographers on social network sites such as Model Mayhem and things gradually evolved from there. It’s always been something I’ve enjoyed, so I’ve made sure it’s a stable part of my life.

Do you prefer working on location or in a studio? Although you can do a lot in the studio, I just love getting out on locations. Anywhere that’s a bit different and outdoor, even if it does mean getting a bit cold in the winter! What do your friends and family think of you being a model? They support me a lot. My mum is always interested in what I’m doing next and so are my friends. A lot of my friends are also in the industry, photographers, other models, make-up artists etc. What is the furthest place you have travelled for a shoot? Dubai! I moved over there for a year and made sure I kept up the modelling while I was there. I would travel anywhere for a shoot, just give me a call and a plane ticket! What preparations do you do before a shoot? Obviously I have to always be a blank canvas, ready for anything, so I keep my nails neat and clear, look after my skin, just generally look after myself. And an early night’s sleep always helps.

Photographer Darklens Photography Model Holly Alexander

What do you think makes a good model? Versatility. It’s important to be able to change your look every now and again, and to turn up in hair and makeup and be able to pull off whatever look you are given, and portray it well to the camera.

My passion isn’t just in front of the camera, I also love the whole process that goes on behind a shoot. I’ve recently started creating headpieces and accessories and I love it.

Eventually I would love to go into photography too, I have a camera that I play around with and my boyfriend is a photographer so he teaches me some things here and there. He’s a great inspiration to me, and it’s perfect us both being in the industry, we understand what each other go through and we can also help each other along the way. Also, whenever we’re bored we get creative and come up with amazing shoot ideas!

I am an enthusiastic fashion student at Leeds University. I have currently finished my second year, and next year I will be working as an assistant designer for the Jenny Packman company in London as part of my study program. I love fashion because by wearing different outfits I can express different feelings everyday and I'm inspired by the people around me. I am passionate about theatre and film, in my high school I used to perform for different theatre productions. I like to be the stylist and hairstylist when I take pictures of the outfits that I create because I feel that in this way I can express exactly the mood that I want to portray. I consider myself a philanthropist; I love to help people around me, especially poor children and people who are less fortunate. I do believe that an important part of life is being kind and sensitive with others around you. This is the reason why I got involved in charity fashion shows both in my first and second years; working as a designer, stylist and hairstylist for "Tribal Instinct 3 Charity fashion show", Leeds University Union, “Vanity Flare-A vintage fashion show" for the Sue Ryder Care Charity Shop Leeds I helped raise money for children from Kenya and people with complex care. I also volunteered at the Leeds Building Society, helping elderly people in their everyday activities. I love animals and I try to protect them by shopping more wisely and avoiding leather and animal skin clothes. Because of my fondness for animals as well as help maintain a healthier lifestyle I chose to become vegetarian too. I was always passionate about mixing different colours and textures. I remember when I was in high school I used to create my own outfits. At that time I did not think to follow this path despite the fact that my class mates always complemented me on my outfits. My acting teacher was the first person who advised me to pursue this field.

During my last year in high school I got involved in a national design competition for students. I created a collection called “Chemere, with which I won the originality prize as well as the prize for youngest designer. That was the moment when I decided to study fashion at University with the aim of becoming a fashion designer. I design clothes and accessories, such as shoes, bags and jewellery. I usually make simple but feminine outfits. I believe that it is more difficult to create simple clothes than intricate ones. If you have a simple dress for example, the cut should be clean and neat otherwise it will look unfinished. Whereas with a complicated outfit even if it has not a perfect cut, you could say that it was the purpose of the design to look in that way. I usually like to do the minimum and not to over design. Beautiful fabrics and details are the key elements for a sophisticated outfit. I like natural fabrics such as wool and cashmere for winter, and silk, cotton, linen, and viscose for s/s season. My family always supported me to follow my dreams and to do only the things that I believe I would excel at. I'm very lucky to have special friends in my life who have always built up my confidence and encouraged me with their positive words. They believe in me and every time I show them my clothes they give me positive feedback, and this helps me in my development as a fashion designer. It is very important to have good friends who are able to give you realistic feedback. This way, you can work on your weaknesses, and further develop your good points.

I have had fashion shows in Leeds and also presented a collection in Milan for 'CurateFondazzione Prada competition'. This was only a short video with my source of inspiration, my collection sketches and further information about fabrics and colours. Before starting a collection, I do a lot of research. Before the design development process I try to understand the customers I am creating for. If I am designing for a certain brand I need to know the particulars of that brand: the style, what makes it stand out from the crowd. I also choose a theme for my collection, my source of inspiration, my colour palette and my fabrics. All these are chosen by taking into account the season. If I design a collection for s/s season I will choose fine fabrics and warm shades. If my collection is for a/w I will use neutral colours, darker shades and thick fabrics such as wool or cashmere. After creating the mood board and my customer profile board I start my design development process. For me, this is the most exciting part in creating a collection. I love to imagine and create different shapes and textures. Using my mood board I fully develop each idea and afterwards I start designing other outfits. It is amazing to see how my ideas turn into beautiful pieces of clothing. After the design development process, I build the collection by creating the style and the outfits. A good designer should be interested in knowing everything. Art, culture, history, politics, social changes, all these influence fashion. If it is a financial crisis we can notice this from the way people change their priorities by spending their money more wisely and buying less clothes. This fact has a negative impact on sales rate. If it is war time, this is seen in fashion as well. People change their way of dressing by adopting a more austere look. Fashion trends change very quickly and so it is important to be up date with the latest news from the industry. Confidence is another important element in becoming a good designer. If you feel you can do something, then go for it. Nothing is too hard.

My first collection will always be my favourite. It is very special to me because I put all my heart and a lot of hard work into it. It is also 'the' collection that made me realise that fashion is my calling. Valentino is one of my favourite designers because he pays particular attention to intricate details and each outfit from his collection seems to be taken from a fairytale. Alexander McQueen is another designer that I really appreciate. He expressed his geniality through perfect pieces of clothing but also through incredible fashion shows. I also like Martin Margiela because he managed to stay a strong brand over the years despite the fact that he never followed the trends. I gain inspiration from everything: architecture, history, travelling, exhibitions, people behaviour, movies, nature. I love the feeling of discovering interesting and beautiful pieces of architecture when I travel, which I could use as a start point for my research and as key elements in my collection. I have always been passionate about architecture and I try to use it as a source of inspiration for my capsule collection whenever I get the chance. Books and museums are another source of inspiration. Going to exhibitions keep me connected with the past and helps me develop my design perspective. Only through understanding the past and the way fashion has changed throughout time can you reinterpret it and create innovative pieces of clothing. I would like to thank Ali Wilson, a very talented photographer, full of amazing ideas and an incredible friend. She supported me in this project and working with her has been a great pleasure. ART and SNAP on Elegance

Contrary to the prevailing canons of fashion, men have come to feel more at ease in showing their own style. You can see it in everyday dress, formal as well as evening. For our last photo session we focused on a classic style. Under the supervision of our stylist Marta Piszczyk we showed an elegant man, at the same time preserving his style and personality. Jack Eyers - Personal Trainer & Fitness Model - B

I had elective surgery when I was 16 to have my leg amputated. I was born with a condition in my leg that worsened as I got older. I grew up being in constant, horrendous pain and I felt it held me back in life. When I was 16 I was ashamed of it. I would wear 2 pairs of trousers just to hide it. Now I live in shorts! It's become a part of me, my signature. I want to become a role model for other amputees or people that are struggling in life. It's not about what you've got but how you use it! My personal training business is busy and I'm loving every minute of it. I love to see people grow as a person and develop in confidence just through pushing their comfort zones. I'm sponsored by NRG fuel but its not a full sponsorship. I want a full time sponsorship and to be the face of a product or clothing brand. My goals for the year ahead are to further develop my business, start working with amputees, get full time sponsorship, enter fitness comps, achieve a modelling contract and get experience working in the USA!

Several years on, and the craftsman has since established himself at Clements and Church. Working closely with a select group of cloth designers and mills also ensures each customer is provided with the highest quality material possible. The Post Apocalyptic Faun A collaboration between Darkslide Photography and Baneology Makeup artistry

Model Mark Whistler Photography Andy Simon / Darkslide Photography www.darkslidephotography.co.uk MUA Baneology www.baneology.com Jewellery Twisted Trinkets www.facebook.com/Twisted.Trinkets

The concept behind this set was to produce a series of images with a fantasy styling but with dark undertones, introducing elements of mythology and an almost post apocalyptic theme.

The shoot took place on Brighton beach in mid April with a backdrop of the sea and decaying pier behind. Timing was essential for this project to get the most of the low sun as a backlight and sidelight to the model, with a portable flash kit used to frontlight the model. The makeup prep took around four hours, using traditional makeup techniques and airbrushing with a gold and bronzed look to give the feel of the faun’s natural skin colour, blending this with the models existing bodyart and tattoos. A bespoke jewellery designer, Twisted Trinkets, was commissioned to produce the elvish ear pieces, made out of copper wire. They were made specifically to fit around the models ears. Until an hour before we arrived at the bech there had been persistent rain and high winds throughout the day so the shoot was at risk of being a complete washout, however the clouds broke just as we arrived on site to a phenomenal sunset which made the perfect backdrop.

Why I Chose a Canon 5D MKII

I have just recently updated my camera from the Canon 600D/T3I to the Canon 5D MKII. I updated for a number of reasons, firstly, due to the full frame sensor which helps with everything from lower noise at high ISO and also better low light performance in the form of better colour. Secondly, the 5D has significantly better image quality at 79.0 vs 65.0 on the 600D which makes a lot of difference! Another bonus to the 5D is the battery life; while the 600D is set to last for 440 shots per battery, the 5D is a massive 850 which is half the amount extra. If you do a lot of low light and indoor shoots the 5D will have no trouble performing as it has a better boost range from ISO 100 to 25,600 and compared to the 600D ISO 12,800 maximum is a huge advantage if you shoot in low light. The 5D is weather sealed while the 600D. Probably the last thing I like is the 21MP vs 17.9MP on the 600D - some people say MP doesnt matter but I can tell you it plays a big part in image quality and you can really tell. I must admit the flip out screen on the 600D was very useful and I would like it on the 5D. The higher resolution screen at 1,040 dots vs 920 dots on the 5D was also much more impressive. Overall though, I am very happy with the upgrade and would recommend it to anyone wanting a full frame who maybe can't afford the extra ÂŁ500/ÂŁ600 for the MKIII. So if you are sat at home looking to upgrade you will not be dissapointed in the 5D MKII. The photo you see here was taken with the 5D MKII with the Canon EF 85mm 1.8 USM lens and touched up in Lightroom 5.
