DS - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER - TORBAY UK My name is Shane Reynolds and I am a self taught photographer at Angelic Smiles based in Torbay. I have a great passion for photography and wish to continue to learn more on each shoot that I do.
Did you always want to be a photographer? How exactly did you get into it? I have always had an interest in photography, which started by taking candids of friends and family. What is your signature style of photography? I am currently involved in modelling headshots and alternate fashion portraiture with a keen interest in branching out and learning new styles with every chance I get. Have you worked with any well known brands? Who would be your dream client? I haven't had the privilege of working with any well known brands as of yet however I would love to do some promotional images for CRMC clothing. Do you prefer working on location or in a studio? I love working on location as I feel that you are able to capture the feeling of your model/subjects surroundings and this helps to create more of a unique look to the image. However, being in the studio means that I have to think a little more creatively when it comes to the lighting aspects. What preparations do you do before a shoot? I research the location and style of the shoot in advance, keep an eye on the weather just in case any alterations need to be made. What do you think makes a good photographer? I feel that a good photographer is not the equipment he or she has, it isn't even the years of experience either. For me, it comes down to three key points which are: the photographer's attitude to their craft, their ability to help each model feel as comfortable as possible while they have a lens pointed in their direction and the time they take to create the whole experience from start to finished product of the shoot. What's your favourite shoot you have ever done? My favourite shoot that I have done so far has got to be a film noir shoot with Aesthetic Clarity in Torbay. We had been planning and preparing for a few weeks and all the hard work paid off as we created some amazing dynamic images.
I have been modeling for about four years, starting out entering competitions and applying to agencies. As a petite lady at 5'1” I found it very difficult being accepted akikomodel.co.uk by agencies as they had a height restriction of starting from 5'8”, but this didn't stop my determination of becoming a model. I signed up to a website called Model Mayhem where you can meet amateur and professional creatives. I started talking with photograp and make up artists, sharing ideas and inspirations and began to work freelance.
Akiko - Model - Brighton
I regularly shoot alternative fashion, fashion, latex, pin up, vintage, lingerie, concept imagery, hair and ma up, body painting, fantasy, implied nude, artistic and fine art nude. I like to mix it up a bit. Keeping the lo different, it never gets boring.
I absolutely love shooting outdoors but sometimes it can be quite challenging. Quite often the lighting ca be difficult and the weather against you. I love to be out in the open and be more with nature whilst doin what I love.
I asked my friends what they personally thought of my modelling and I had some really lovely feedback. said “I think its lovely you are able to use your beauty to create lady like, elegant and edgy images which have depth and shows your personality and inspire others to embrace their beauty.”
I have travelled to London from Brighton several times. and also down to South-End on Sea and Chelmsfo Essex. I plan to travel further north of the country, as I have been in talks with some amazing photographe for future shoots. I haven't yet worked abroad but currently talking with a photographer about shooting in Holland.
Preparation is a must! I always check for confirmation of the people involved on the shoot a week beforehand, and leading up to a shoot I make sure I get loads of sleep and eat well in order for my skin to look its best. The night before the shoot I triple check I have everything I need to take with me.
I believe that a model needs to have his or her own style, but should be able to adapt to any style and im required for clients. A good model should be reliable and true to herself/himself. Photographer Jason Balchin - JB Images Model Akiko

I have been on many awesome and exciting shoots. I may have to say that my first latex shoot was one of my most enjoyable and successful shoots, for which I was collaborating with David of DGphotographic and shooting Shhh! Couture. It was an 8 hour day working with two other models, consisting of four outfit, style, hair and make up changes. I don't tend to follow the usual trends, instead I have my own favourite alternative designers, including latex of course! My favourite latex designers are Sacred Latex, Atsuko Kudo Latex, Shhh! Couture, and Eustratia latex. Other than latex I really admire Bibian Blue, Freyagushi, Playful Promises, Iron Fist and many more talented designers. Other than being a model I am also a performer and pole acrobat. I perform regularly on Brighton's burlesque and cabaret scene as a solo artist, as well as being one part of a double act with my partner Leon Simmonds. We combine magic, circus skills, pole acrobatics, slapstick and more performing under the name Extra単o.

Paige Young - Fashion Photographer - UK
Paige Young is a 19 year old freelance fashion and beauty photographer. Based in the East Midlands, Paige is currently on a gap year with plans to go to university to study Photography this coming autumn. as she prefers to shoot using natural light, she loves to work on location. Although originally wanting to be an author, Paige's passion for photography stems from her talented photographer granddad whose work inspired the curiorosity Paige felt about the world of photography. Paige started out taking photos with her Sony Ericsson Walkman W580I phone. "Now I know that's not exactly the most advanced gear but at the time it's all I had, and as they say, the best camera is the one that's with you." From her network of fellow photographers to high end designers, Paige is not only a talented photographer but one who we think has a very bright future ahead of her. Snow White
Photo Editorial by Daniel Moore - www.facebook.com/dndvisuals Models Rianna Lee and Chelsey Marie
I recently had a photo shoot with model Rianna Lee at my home studio, which was her first ever shoot. I was approached a few months later by Rianna and Chelsey to see if i wanted to collaborate and do a themed shoot, to which we agreed on Snow White. I searched for a suitable location and found a old tower at Boxhill in Surrey to shoot at. The location had plenty of wooded areas and long chalk grass to shoot in. We met around 5pm on a Sunday afternoon and the shoot was wrapped up by 8pm.

Vicky Escoredo - Fashion Photographer - Argentina www.victoriaescoredo.com
When my fashion designer friend Catalina proposed this photoshoot I was excited but absolutely clueless to its plan. When I arrived at Cat's apartment, the model was ready with her make-up applied and outfit, designed by Catalina, ready to shoot. The photoshoot began in the hall, which was a French inspired design with its lovely spiral stair and the most perfect light. Here in Buenos Aires most of the architecture is European influenced, especially of France. I love doing photos that combine fashion and architecture, particularly the combination of lines, shapes and strong shadows that fell upon the model. I think the style lent the perfect drama to the photoshoot, because it provided a moody darkness with an air of mystery to the images. We had so much fun shooting, and it was successful because the three of us had the opportunity to be creative in our on ways.

I’m a Northwest UK based, multiple published, semi-pro photographer specialising in alternative and alt-fashion photography shoots. I enjoy working with the same skilled professionals as often as possible - having a strong, reliable and talented creative team with which to discuss and formulate themes and ideas is invaluable in the creative process. With this in mind, I knew from the offset that I had to work with model AJ and make up artist Michaela. In a relatively short period of time their input and feedback has, without a doubt, helped to raise the level of the work we produce together. I cannot praise their work and commitment enough. A great team I’m proud to be part of. Like all of my projects, extensive planning was carried out before the day: mood boards, finding and purchasing the right outfits and props, researching the correct location, discussing makeup ideas, etc. Making sure that everyone involved is aware what is expected of them and what we are aiming to achieve is an incredibly important and vital part of the process. The location was Crewe Heritage Centre, a museum dedicated to the acquisition and restoration of railway stock. The team arrived early, and with the sun shining, started the first set of the day. From the offset it was clear that everyone had done their part and the standard was high from the very beginning. All the pieces of the puzzle had come together to produce something outstanding. The make-up which Michaela had produced was stunning and AJ could be relied upon to pose with ease, being able to interpret any minor tweaks I asked of her. We walked around site to scout possible shooting opportunities and came across some old, rusted engine boilers and fireboxes. We felt these would be perfect for the alternative look we had aimed for. Later in the day we regrouped and started prep for another set: outfit, make-up, hair and lighting were all changed. From the early stages of planning this shoot I had one image which I could not get out of my head and which totally took over the creative parts of my brain; I knew exactly who I wanted to model, how the model would be posed, what the theme and set would be, what outfit would be worn, how the make-up was to be done, how it would be lit and how it would ultimately be edited. As I walked into the workshop I could see the image in my head, the "gritty worker", taking form in reality. I was so happy and about fifteen minutes later we had captured the final image of the day - we knew there was no point carrying on!

These are those images: the culmination of several months creative vision, discussion and research. It's images like this, and getting to work with great people I consider friends, that is the reason I still love taking photographs and hope it can continue for many, many more years. At the end of the day all involved were extremely pleased with the results. Thanks again to the amazing creative team on the day!
