Tenant Feedback
I am writing to you to thank you for the help CTM Mind has given us for two of our Groups, namely the Gardeners Group and the Craft Group. Library Court is a Sheltered Accommodation Complex based in Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd and consists of 32 flats, occupied by tenants aged between 60 to 84 years old. We were very fortunate two years ago to receive help to create 2 small gardens in the grounds of Library Court, one of them has been planted with flowers and the other has been planted with fruit and vegetables, this year we had to 'standalone' as we did not have any funding to replenish the gardens and some of the tenants purchased seeds and plants out of their own money. Our other group is held every Thursday afternoon in the communal lounge with a group of ladies. We did not have much in the way of craft material, so most weeks we just sat and chatted over a cup of tea and biscuits, which was enjoyable, but lacked the pleasure of creating a piece of work that these ladies could take home with them. CTM Mind's contribution to this group has given us something to look forward to now, where we can produce maybe a gift for a family member, or to place in our flat (showing off what we have achieved).
Like everyone else in the last 18 plus months, life has been harder than usual, COVID 19 brought more than a virus with it, it created a miserable existence for many people, more so I think for elderly people with limited mobility living in Sheltered Accommodation. However, with the help given by CTMMind, life is looking a little better. It has enabled elderly gentlemen to meet up in the garden and allow them to enjoy their pastime, some just go to the garden area and sit on the bench chatting and watching the men at work. Some of the ladies have started looking on-line for crafting ideas, and because of the beautiful cross stitch kits, can take up a hobby never before tried. When we were invited to attend the Peer Support Project sessions arranged by CTM Mind we had no great expectations to be honest, but went along to see if we could learn something that would benefit our groups, and eventually the wider community. CTM Mind has changed the lives of some of our residents, and we are all extremely grateful for the opportunity CTM Mind has given us, you cannot imagine the difference it has made to us, and we thank you most sincerely for your kindness.

Case Study from Trivallis Tenant
What was the reason you came to Cwm Taf Morgannwg Mind?
discovered that colouring helps with my depression, before I would lock myself away.
I was feeling lonely/lost I hadn't had these feelings before. I have suffered from depression, but this felt different. My confidence was also low. I felt very unhappy. I don't like the dark nights.
How did Cwm Taf Morgannwg Mind make you feel?
What was it you wanted help/support with? To be honest I wasn't sure what help or support I needed I just knew I needed something. I didn't want to keep on feeling like this, maybe help with my confidence, try something new. How did Cwm Taf Morgannwg Mind help you? Suzanne has helped me grow in confidence. She has introduced me to new things, given me ideas. I didn't realise what a difference having a cup of tea and a chat each week would make; we listen to music while creating something. I can openly talk about my feelings, I feel more relaxed. I'm happier, it's so good to laugh with other people. I have
Very warm and welcoming. It has made me kinder. I feel more confident. I have a purpose. I've found an interest and I'm interested in people and other things. I feel contented. Would you like to add anything else? I miss Project 5 so much it's given me so much more confidence. I have surprised myself by trying lots of new activities being creative has helped with my depression and has helped me through the pandemic. Suzanne has loads of patience and always listens. Knowing that Suzanne is going to call every week really gives me a boost, it's good to speak to someone other than family. Suzanne has also been kind enough to send wellbeing packages in the post which have included lots of my favourite things. I'm hoping Project 5 can start again I ask our scheme co-ordinator every week when is 6 Suzanne able to come back?
