Bluebell Railway offers that and so much more for the whole family. On your visit, learn about the history and science of the industrial age, experience the thrill of getting up close to a working steam locomotive and luxuriate in the comfort and style of a bygone era. Families can enjoy getting hands-on in our interactive exhibitions. Children can play whilst parents relax with a cuppa in our tranquil natural spaces and picnic areas. All facilities are marked on the map of our line and we recommend that you explore what all our stations have to offer. We are the living history specialists. Meet railway staff in period clothing, see original working signal boxes and signals and step back in time as you board vintage carriages to travel between stations. Our four stations are preserved at different periods of history including Victorian, 1930’s and 1950’s. Our railway also has an unrivalled collection of over 30 locomotives and more than 100 carriages and wagons!
Fancy Something tasty There are plenty of food options at all our stations including buffets and kiosks serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice cream. You can even get a beverage aboard some of our service trains in the Railway Miniature Buffet carriage! At East Grinstead, a converted carriage makes a warm and inviting setting for a light lunch or high tea. The Bessemer Arms at Shef eld Park is our largest pub-restaurant serving a range of hot and cold food. Start your day with a tasty breakfast before travelling along the line. Some outlets are also open when service trains are not running. Check out our website for full opening times. Something unusual Looking for something different? Enjoy sh and chips, curry or pie and mash aboard one of our Supper Specials or go for a touch of re nement on the Wealden Rambler Afternoon Tea Train. Why not hop on board the Sussex Belle for anexcellent lunch. Something special Celebrate a special occasion in high style with ne dining aboard the Golden Arrow. Look out for extra services on Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and New Year’s Eve or the chance to take part in a Murder Mystery on one of our beautiful Pullman or 1st class carriages.
Groups Ideal for a group visit, our railway offers reserved seating and discounts for coach or organised groups of 15 or more. Sit back and enjoy a wonderful return trip in comfort. Why not add a ploughman’s lunch or a cream tea to your reservation to make the journey really special. A visit to our museum, exhibitions, shop and catering outlets will make it a great day out. Guided tours and on-board talks can be arranged upon request, subject to the availability of our volunteers.
