An Online Program


The Master of Science in Youth Development Leadership Program is designed to equip students with the competencies, knowledge, and skills to help young people develop into healthy, competent, coping and contributing citizens. The program prepares students to address issues facing youth in the context of family and community with an emphasis on positive outcomes through a dynamic learning environment. Weekly synchronous online class time is scheduled in each course. Admission Requirements: A complete application packet should include: • Proof of a baccalaureate degree with a minimum grade-point ratio of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale • Application available online at www.grad.clemson.edu • Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate work • An acceptable score on the Graduate Record Examination, GRE (www.gre.org) • A letter of intent • Two letters of reference • Experience in the field of youth development is preferred Program Requirements: The Master of Science in Youth Development requires 36 semester hours of coursework. The 2-year Master of Science degree program is designed to prepare leaders to build the capacity for youth to successfully act within their families and communities by equipping them with the knowledge and skills related to: • Principles and Best Practices in Youth Development • Child and Adolescent Development • Developing Youth Programs • Family Intervention

Courses are scheduled to make it possible for students to complete their degree in two years. Certificate in Youth Development Leadership: A Certificate in Youth Development Leadership is also available. This certificate is designed to equip professionals with competencies that augment their bachelor’s degree in a related field.
