The Master of Science – Major in Nursing Program is designed to build upon the first professional degree. The student may select one of the four study options: • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) • Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (A/GNP) • Nursing Administration • Nursing Education The nurse practitioner options articulate with the baccalaureate program in the continued acquisition of advanced nursing knowledge and skills of the specialist. These specializations build toward advanced nursing practice in selected clinical practice and role areas. Theory, research and role development are emphasized to enable the graduate to participate in the development of nursing knowledge and contribute to the advancement of the nursing profession. The Master of Science – Major in Nursing Program is offered exclusively in Greenville, South Carolina at the University Center of Greenville. Admission Requirements: • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from a nationally-accredited institution. • Admission to the Clemson Graduate School. • Meet all requirements of the Clemson Graduate School. • Cumulative GPA of 3.0+ overall. • Licensure to practice nursing in South Carolina. • Current resume detailing your professional experience. • Competitive GRE scores within the last 5 years. • Two professional references—one from someone familiar with you clinically and one from someone familiar with you academically.

• Documentation of at least 600 hours of clinical experience within the last 12 months. • Optional department interview. Program Prerequisites: • Undergraduate statistics course: all options. • Undergraduate computer course (or equivalent skills): all options. • Health Assessment skills course: all options (In-class course. Online courses not accepted) • Undergraduate accounting course: Nursing Administration only.
