The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen Announces its 2014-2015 Season Richmond, Virginia, June 24, 2014 –– The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen (CACGA) is pleased to announce its epic new season celebrating 16th years of inspiring creativity through music, dance, art, and theatre. The Center Season performance series returns on September 6, 2014 with Capitol Steps, an audience favorite, bringing a unique blend of music and political comedy to the Sara Belle November Stage. “America’s Got Talent” Finalist Pete Peterkin joins the guest artist roster this season with Ray Live! A Tribute to Ray Charles on October 18, 2014. Plus, Richmond’s premier event of the year, Richmond’s Finest, brings RVA favorites Susan Greenbaum, Donna Meade, Robbin Thompson and the Richmond Symphony to The Center (November 21-22, 2014) for two special evenings of live music beyond compare! Additional highlights include the family holiday classic ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas (December 20, 2014), song-and-dance variety act Two on Tap (January 23, 2015), and Eleone Dance Theatre (April 22-23, 2015) with a mesmerizing performance that’s sure to delight all ages! Tickets start as low as $10. Center Season is sponsored by Markel, the Franklin Federal Foundation, Style Weekly, Best Western Plus, and the Dean Foundation. Now in its sixth season, 2nd Stage is back to kick off your weekends with a different genre of live music each first Friday of the month (excluding July, August, and January. For April, the date will move to the second Friday). Sponsored by BB&T and held in the Cardinal Ballroom, this cabaret style showcase offers Richmond residents an informal setting to experience performances by local and regional talent. The season begins with An Evening of Blues & Jazz with Barbara Martin and Vince Lewis (September 5, 2014). Additional highlights include An Evening of Holidays from Stage and Screen with the Richmond Men’s Chorus and Richmond Women’s Chorus (December 5, 2014), An Evening of Country with The Honky Tonk Experience (April 10, 2015), and many more special guest artists! Food and beverages are available for purchase on the night of the show. Subscribe to the season with four or more shows at only $12 per show (a subscription must be the same number of tickets for each show.) Otherwise, individual tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Special events throughout the new season include the 3rd Annual UkeFest VA, a music filled weekend (November 7-8, 2014) featuring regional ukulele aficionados and nationally renowned ukulele performers; the 7th Annual Bluegrass Marathon Jam on February 21, 2015; and an Artisan crafted Festival of Trees on display December 1, 2014 – January 2, 2015.
