2020 NextGen Homebuyer Report Launch! We are very excited to announce the launch of the NextGen Homebuyer Report. National MI and Cultural Outreach collaborated to survey 1450 next generation (ages 22-37) respondents across the U.S. who have either recently purchased a home in the last three years or are planning to buy a home in the next year. We asked them about their motivation for homeownership, challenges, financial history and education, and how COVID-19 has impacted their process. NextGen buyers account for one in three home purchases, yet there is a gap in thorough reporting on their consumer preferences, financial profiles, and buyer trends. This report was conducted to give real estate professionals a better understanding of this growing demographic of buyers and help build better strategies to reach them. Read, learn, and share!

Hurdles to Homeownership From the NextGen Homebuyer Report, we found that down payment remains the biggest financial hurdle for NextGen buyers. How can you, as a lender, bring more education to this part of the process? You can provide information about down payment assistance programs, saving tips, and low down payment options, such as utilizing mortgage insurance, that buyers may not know about.
