The U.S. Housing Boom & Wealth Gap
The ability to afford a new home is getting further out of reach for those looking to buy in the low- and middle-tiers of the housing market. Home prices across the board have risen as demand has increased. Meanwhile, as entry-level home buyers are being shut out, those who can afford it buy larger or more expensive homes. This disparity in homeownership hits especially hard for the Black and Hispanic families who the pandemic has disproportionately impacted.
