The year we all declare growth as well as progress

“new year, new me. This is what everyone says at the start of every year. We always find the need to try and turn over a new leaf at the start of the year. Does it work? Not even. We always change during the first three months or so, then we are back to our old

selves. How typical. Yes, it is a new year, but that does not mean that you have to change and be someone different. All you have to do is grow. Mentally, physically, spiritually and financially.

Here at Culturestore we would like to wish you a happy new year

E

ver since our first issue, we have brought you what we thought is hip and happening in the streets of fashion. We will continue to keep doing that as well as making sure that we provide you with the latest local and freshest fashion brands.

Forecast of the new year

Weather forecasts, fortune tellers, and forex brokers are all different from each other in a very distinct manner. For instance; one is all about climatology and the other is about bears and bulls. What we hardly realise is that they all fall in the

same category of trying to “know” how the future will turn out. The weather forecast can predict 80% chance of rain and it only because a drizzle, fortune tellers can tell about all the riches you will acquire in the future only to find

out that they are talking about the R100 note your dad will give you the following day to make up for some odd mistakes, brokers… Just watch The Wolf Of Wall Street.

Here at Culturestore we would also like to forecast something for all our readers. It is not much of a forecast but just a few requests. For instance, this year let us all start supporting local brands whether they are on Culturestore or not. But let us support all the brothers and sisters out there who are always hustling and trying to make a living off of their dreams. Secondly, Culture Magazine will be having a premium issue on the website but will only be available to those who have done the FREE subscription. The premium issue will include a sale catalogue (to those who want to save money), brand interaction (incl. blogs and vlogs of the team and brands) and finally fixed amount of COUPONS. Our last

request is similar to the first one, but more broad. Let us focus on building street culture and fashion. With all these requests and wishes done and fulfilled, we promise that this year will be a year to remember because it will be the year of growth and prosperity. Culturestore wishes you a wonderful year.

Festive Season(we all made it)

What a festive season, it is what you made it. Whether you travelled, sat at home watching movies, worked your @ss off for a few rands or partied a part of your life away it was still a festive season at the end of the day.

We saw it all and we heard it all;

“uthi hu”, “idibala” or something else. It was a festive season and if you are reading this, we thank the great Lord that you made it out alive with no scratch. But it does not stop here, let it resume on the 1st of July when we turn celebrate one year. Oh yes! A party is coming your way. It is in winter, so what. We will be heating things up.

CULTURE STORE TOP 30 BRANDS

A

big shout out to all the brands that made it on to our Top 30 brands for 2018 list. All that would not have been possible without you and your co-operation. The list was not merely just a show

off list but to show you that: there is still room for improvement and growth, and if you were on the top 7 you can maintain your current work ethic or you can conquer all and be at the top.

The list was not meant to shame or discourage certain brands or people but it was also to expose the variety of brands that are out there. There are obviously more. That is why we cannot wait for this year’s list. Again, a huge thank you to all the brands that participated. The top7 brands will be available on Culturestore for two months with sales and discounted coupons. We can go on and on with thanking the brands and the technical team for all of this. We can throw a huge celebration party for the top seven brands

but what good does it do. Without you, the readers, all of this would not be possible. Thank you to everyone who voted and supported us. You guys played a huge role in this as this was based around your influence and whether or not you knew the brands that participated. Congratulations to those of you who won hampers and prizes for participating. Culturestore and its staff did not and could not influence the voting system in any way. To those of you who do not know the list. We give you the Top 30 brands of Culturestore:

fter all that reading you must be hungry or rather famished. Here to help is the main girl Wendy with her delightful and appetising treats and meals that can be prepared in a jiffy. We figured that since it is the beginning of the year most of you will not want to go big on groceries after spending a lot during the festive season. Hence, that is why Wendy has offered to help cut low on the budget and devour scrumptiously at the same time.

Wendy’s Blissful Eats introduces us to a modern and more internationally diverse perspective of fo o d. It h a s come to our attention and most probably yours that we contradicted ourselves. How? Did not go 100% local. To fix that, w e h av e a d d e d a new section to the magazine. Yes, another section. We call it The Local Food Spot. In this section of the magazine, we will be showing you the best local food hangouts around Gauteng and soon e n ou g h a rou n d South Africa. We will bring you i’sphatlo, i’kota, and

many more. Now, since we cannot post videos on the magazine. We will always go live on Instagram showing you the ins and outs of what goes on

behind the scenes of these mouthwatering snacks and meals. The monthly magazine will only feature photos from the experiences we had as well as the locations of the places that create such marvels.
