This year we celebrate Curbstone AZUR, our branch located at Circuit Paul Ricard in the South of France. Since it opened five years ago, Curbstone AZUR has extended its activities and offers a wide range of possibilities for both the occasional track driver and the more experienced racer. Due to its location, Circuit Paul Ricard is the perfect starting point for your next trip to the ever-impressive South of France. We would like to accompany you in an immersive experience so that you can explore the treasures this incredible territory has to offer. From the chic lifestyle of the French Riviera to the modern and innovative infrastructure of Circuit Paul Ricard, the perfect trip for true drivers.

But there’s more. Those familiar with our way of working already know that we continuously try to improve our offer, and our Portfolio Weekends are part of those innovations. This contemporary automobile show not only provides a platform for some of the most impressive machinery on four wheels, but it also

includes roadbook rallies and an elegant gastronomic experience. No wonder the Portfolio Weekends attract the attention of numerous car enthusiasts and trade professionals alike.

One of the new aspects of the Portfolio Weekends is The Alternative, a dedicated area presenting new and alternative powertrains such as electric, eFuel and hydrogen powertrains. Throughout the day, prestige and premium car manufacturers will showcase their latest models and concept cars, and offer test drives, while industry stakeholders host speaker sessions.

Curbstone is also an integral part of modern society. By 2023 Curbstone will have established a sustainability strategy, to both reduce the carbon footprint during events and to include more green policies in our corporate strategy. During our events, we already propose alternative car solutions to increase awareness and in the very near future, we’ll be continuing to promote these and to optimise event logistics.

Curbstone AZUR, one of Curbstone’s branches, is situated at Circuit Paul Ricard in the South of France. A region that you have to see to believe. From gorgeous scenery, impressive towns and exquisite cuisine to exciting nightlife: the South of France has it all!

WORTH TO VISIT

The Provence and the Côte d’Azur are made for exploring. The iconic lavender fields, ancient olive groves, clifftop roads, the maquis covered hills and even snow-topped mountains provide a breath-taking backdrop for those wishing to tour the French backroads.

THE LAVENDER FIELDS

They are probably one of the most recognisable natural photo settings in the world. The Provence lavender fields are found in the Luberon and Verdon plateau regions to the north of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, and to the east of the city of Avignon. The flowering season in the lowlands runs from mid-June to mid-July, although dates may vary depending on rainfall and the temperature.

AIX-EN-PROVENCE

Art, architecture, history, and food: Aix-en-Provence has plenty to offer. The city of Cezanne is among France’s most attractive, with tree-lined boulevards and picturesque squares surrounded by impressive 17th century mansions. And don’t forget the Cours Mirabeau, the city’s hotspot for designer fashion shops and people-watching, populated by students and well-dressed residents alike. The famous Provence lavender fields are just outside the city limits.

Curbstone’s APEX Training sessions have been created for any driver wanting to improve their driving style. Both beginner track day drivers, who want to learn how to handle some of Europe’s most legendary racing corners, and experienced drivers wanting to gain a few tenths of a second by hitting the perfect apex, are welcome.

The GT1 Sports Club, launched in 2021, has proved to be the best track format to experience hyper and super track cars of the GT1 elite in their natural environment and gives the opportunity to drive your own exclusive automobile on the world’s best racetracks.

For the upcoming season, the GT1 Sports Club has already attracted the attention of important car manufacturers. Car manufacturers will have the opportunity to host driving programmes during the GT1 track day series and to offer their clients the use of private lounges throughout the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS weekends in a VVIP package.

Clubsport Challenge returns with its third edition in 2022. The Clubsport Challenge programme is a non-competitive track day series that allows owners of exclusive fast production cars and race cars for clubsport use to get behind the wheel of their cars on some of Europe’s most renowned racing tracks. GT-RACE: RACE CAR TESTING

FOR PROFESSIONAL RACE TEAMS AND THEIR DRIVERS

Test your GT, LMP and Cup cars before taking them to the races: that’s exactly what you can do with our GTRACE offer. Every year, as of February, Curbstone offers a wide range of Test Days at many legendary racetracks to enable car manufacturers and professional racing teams and drivers to maximise their preparations for the racing season. Testing opportunities will be available throughout the year, as well as during and after the racing season.

Most of our Test Days run over two or three days, which will obviously double or triple the potential test time. At each circuit, Curbstone accepts an average of 25 cars on track. Furthermore, there will be no track limits and teams will be able to use the highest noise/dB limits on their cars.

By securing a couple of strategic A-grade circuits, Curbstone has minimised the chances of encountering adverse weather conditions. Among the new circuits we can offer you are the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, and the Dubai Autodrome, providing valuable testing opportunities in the Middle East.

FASCINATING ELEGANCE

Each of these events will offer you the most fascinating driving roads, breath-taking locations and stopovers in the most elegant hotels and gastronomic restaurants. Our GT Tours are open to GT and sports cars, as well as luxury automobiles, but to be certain that each and every participant can enjoy the trip to the fullest, the number of cars will be limited.

CONTEMPORARY AUTOMOBILE SHOW

Portfolio is a contemporary automobile show concept that was launched by Curbstone in 2021. This combination of a car show and elegant gastronomic experiences with roadbook rallies has attracted the attention of numerous car enthusiasts and dealers. Portfolio has planned four events in 2022, from May to September. The contemporary automobile show will take place in four locations: Luxembourg, Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent.

WHERE PASSIONATE OF GT, LUXURY AND SPORTS CARS MEET

In response to the needs of today’s car owners, Portfolio events provide a chance to test and discover all sorts of car technologies, from combustion engines to hybrid and electric vehicles. The friendly, informal atmosphere in which automotive professionals, drivers and car fans rub shoulders is key to the Portfolio concept. Portfolio weekends normally include elegant Saturday evening cocktails, to allow drivers to register and enjoy a great evening programme, and always end with the Sunday Tour, a roadbook drive taking in the best driving roads and most breath-taking locations, including stopovers at various exquisite restaurants.

Portfolio events will mainly take place on Saturdays and Sundays at a fair venue. The heart of the event will be the Portfolio Exhibition, where the latest models of luxury, GT and sports car brands will be shown, including limited edition and made-tomeasure models.

One of the new features of the Portfolio events will be a dedicated area presenting alternatives to the classic combustion engine. Prestige and premium car manufacturers will offer test drives and seminar sessions to showcase their latest models or concept cars.

Alternative solutions produced by the automotive industry will be present, especially automobiles with drivetrains that comply with (EU) 2019/631 standards or exceed the CO2 emission targets set by the European Union. The Alternative is an initiative by Curbstone Events and RACB Automotive Services.

SATURDAY

ROAD TO TotalEnergies 24 HOURS OF SPA FROM ROAD DRIVING TO RACE ACTION

In July, Curbstone will once again be holding an epic GT Tour that will end with the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa race. Two days to discover wild landscapes and scenic roads, stay in a luxury hotel and enjoy the racing action from the VIP lounge at the event.

Several sports car dealerships will host the start of this two-day GT Tour, and after an opening ‘Parcours de Concentration’ the day will end at our luxury hotel, where you can enjoy an exquisite dinner. The tour continues the next day, beginning at the SpaFrancorchamps track where you can witness the start of the world’s biggest GT race and enjoy all the on-track action from our luxurious VIP lounge.

It’s become a tradition that at the beginning of the year we welcome you to Lapland for several GT Tours of our ice driving programme. Fly directly to Arvidsjaur in Swedish Lapland, and for four or three days you can drive to your heart’s content on the ice. Wondering what to wear during a Curbstone Track and Test Day? The answer is simple: make sure you are comfortable and safe at the wheel of your car and be aware that your outfit should not hinder your movements.

Still, there are some requirements you need to adhere to during a Curbstone Track and Test Day. If you are driving a race car, a race suit, racing shoes, helmet and gloves are mandatory. It is also advisable to use a Frontal Head Restraint (FHR) system. When driving a sports car, a race suit and FHR system would be ideal but are not mandatory. However, you do need to wear long sleeves, trousers and a helmet.

Like most sports, having the support of a coach when you start out in motorsport can save you a lot of time... and money. The Royal Automobile Club of Belgium, a Belgian federation recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, has taken its Racing School one step further and created the School of Racing, supported by Curbstone Events and the professional driver Sam Dejonghe. A more complete programme and a team of professional coaches guarantee methodical progress and maximum safety. Going back to school has never been such fun!

The aim of this driving school is to promote motorsport in Belgium by offering training in four areas: karting, circuit, rally(cross) and... e-sport, i.e. virtual driving, which has become an indisputable gateway to motorsport. At the School of Racing, (future) drivers will acquire a solid structure which they can rely on. Whatever their age or experience, students who join the School of Racing will find the support they need to progress faster and therefore set themselves new goals. For the younger ones, this school may be their first step towards a career as a professional driver. For the older ones, it will provide the perfect context to satisfy their passion for driving.
