2013 has been a dynamic year for Surrey’s top end market. Buyer confidence is high with an influx of International buyers particularly keen to live/invest in Surrey’s prime areas, especially Elmbridge’s private estates. We have sold nearly £200m of properties priced over £1m this year so far. On St George’s Hill alone we have sold £75m worth of property. Our Sunday Times advertising and our partners at The London Office in St James’s Place are responsible for many enquiries in this sector. We have also created a strong link with buyers from Russia. An increasing trend in this upper segment is the acquisition of older properties in prime locations on substantial plots, especially in the area’s private parks, to redevelop with modern masterpieces. In some ways it is sad to see these older properties being demolished, but this is a sign of the times and it is certainly adding value to such properties.
