FAMOUS MONUMENTS IN THE UK AND IN NORTHERN IRELAND The London Bridge:
This bridge was built in London 1971st,it measures 283 meters long and 20 meters wide and the river below it is the river Thames.

The Washington Monument
This monument was built in North America 1888th, it measures 0,429 square kilometres

The Mount Rushmore
This mountain was built in the USA 1941st, its area is 5.17 square kilometres, today it has 2,757,971 visitors in total. 4
The Millenium Bridge:
This bridge was built in London 2000th, the river below it is the river Thames, it measures 325 meters long and 4 meters wide.

The Tower was founded in London in late 1066th, but today it is still standing and is a leisure site.

The Museum was built in London 1759th, today it works as an arts museum.

This museum was built in London 1880, today it has 5,356,884 visitors in total and now it is a leisure centre.

Palace of Westminster The Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament, serves as the meeting place for the House of Commons and the House of Lords. It was built on the north bank of the river Thames, in London, in 1016 but a fire destroyed it in 1834. It was rebuilt between 1840 and 1876 in a Gothic revival style

Eden Project It is a visitor attraction opened in 2001 in a former clay mine, located in Cornwall. It is made up of 8 domes of futuristic architecture, inside the house different biomes, such as a rainforest or a Mediterranean biome. From the outside the greenhouses look like big bubbles made from many hexagons.

Hyde Park
It is one of the major parks in London, the largest of four Royal Parks that go from Kensington Palace to Buckingham. Although the park was established in 1536 by Henry VIII, the park opened to the public in 1637. Since the 19th century the park has been a place of free speech, where people, such as the suffragettes, have held protests; in the 20th the park has held free rock concerts; and since 2007 it holds the Winter Wonderland.

Highclere Castle
It is a country house built in 1679 and renovated in the 1840s, with a park designed by Capability Brown, the greatest English gardener. It is the country seat of the Earls of Carnarvon; the castle holds an Egyptian Exhibition because the 5th Earl discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun. Downton Abbey was filmed there.

University of Cambridge
It is a collegiate research university in Cambridge, founded in 1209, it is the second oldest university in the English-speaking world and the third oldest university in the world. It was created by scholars who left the University of Oxford.

Jedburgh Abbey
It is a ruined Augustinian Abbey built around 1118 in the old kingdom of Northumbria, although now it is part of Scotland. In 1871 the church was considered unsafe to continue worship and a new church was built, the old one is now a historic monument.

Glenfinnan Viaduct
It is a railway viaduct on the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan in Scotland, built from 1897 to 1901, it crosses the river Finnan. The Jacobite steam train operates along the line. It is known because it was featured in Harry Potter.

Dunluce Castle: It is in Northern Ireland, UK. It's a medieval castle, 16
actually in ruins. The castle is surrounded by extremely steep falls on both sides.
Peel Monument: The memorial tower to Sir Robert Peel, high above Ramsbottom was planned and erected at the same time as Bury was preparing its statue to the then recently deceased statesman who was born in Bury.

Victoria Memorial (London): The Victoria Memorial is a monument to Queen Victoria located at the end of The Mall in London, United Kingdom, designed and made by the sculptor Sir Thomas Brock. Conceived in 1901, it was opened on May 16, 1911, although it was not completed until 1924.
