Content Migration Steps: Step 1: Review your metrics and take inventory of your content
Identify the high‐traffic areas and focus on those pages first Identify low‐traffic areas and flag pages for archive or deletion
Step 2: Review and massage your existing content: tailor it for online consumption
Streamline your content, the less text to scan, the more likely an individual will glean the key message Reduce redundancies: group and consolidate related content Make your material scannable: make it easy for your reader to extract the information they came looking for and the key message you want to get across Break content up into chucks for easy scanning Analyze links embedded in your content and leverage the right & left side modules available Step 3: Migrate your content: use the collection forms provided in you package
Reference the migration guides to help you understand the different template and module options available Use the collection forms to capture your massaged content Use the collection forms to capture your new content Contact the Web Communications Team for assistance or to address any questions you may have
Step 4: Forward all collection forms and supporting documents to Web Comm for review
Forward collection forms, supporting documents and flagged pages for to the Web Communications Team to review Work on your lower‐level and low‐priority pages Wait for further instructions from the Web Comm Team
