Brief Title
Brief 5: Waitrose Packaging
Brief
To create a range of packagng for products which you would commonly find left out around the kitchen. The idea is to focus on making the packging visually appealing and more suited to the contents so people do not feel a need to use other forms of storage and are happy to have these out on show on their kitchen surfaces without adding clutter. I will be producing these products a new range for Waitrose as this is a more upper class supermarket where I feel products like this would be better suited and also thier customers are already willing to pay more for higher quality products.
Background
There are many food products which get left out on kitchen surfaces for convenience reasons and easier access such as herbs, spices, oils, tea and coffee etc. A lot of the time the packaging for these products may not be very visually appealing or particularly suitable for the contents and many people transfer these products into more suitable forms of storage and dispose of the original packaging.
Considerations
A problem with disposing of the original packaging is that things such as cooking instructions and nutritional information are no longer available. I must consider how this will still be available without affecting the design and visual aspect. - Materials eg plastic, glass, card - Function of the packaging needs to be appropriate for its contents - Will the packaging be reusable - Waitrose audience - Price range - will be more expensive as these products hold longevity
Mandatory Requirements
