Mum and Dad

21.8.1961 – 10.3.2003

20 years have passed since you were suddenly taken from us.

The gaping hole your absence left in our lives has never closed. We miss you more with each passing year.

We miss your love, your strength, your unwavering support and your laughter. Your untimely death was so unfair and so pointless. You had so much more life to live and so much more to give.

In the last 20 years you would have seen your children grow, marry and have children of their own. So much was taken from you. And so much was taken from those who loved you, because you are no longer in our lives to share. But you are always in our thoughts and remain deep in our hearts.

Loved and remembered always. Your sister, Vicki.

Day Of Days

With Marion Haydon

I well remember the day my family left the land of my birth and headed to Australia over 60 years ago. We became Australian citizens almost straight away. However, a more important day for me is when I became a citizen of heaven in my youth. We’ve not long celebrated another Australia Day and many people were out and about celebrating what it is to be Australian. We do have much to be thankful for, unlike many other countries. For us living in the present, we do not have control over the past (good or bad) but we can move forward to make it a better place if we hold on to the truths of God’s Word, which we have ready access to.

The Bible speaks of the ‘Day of the Lord’ which is to come, although we don’t know when it will be, but we can prepare well for this future event, in the present because today is the day of salvation. Personally, we can know God’s forgiveness for the past as we put our faith and trust in Him. As we do that we can look forward to this COMING DAY (2 Peter 3:10-13) and celebrate God’s goodness every day.

THUMBS UP to the driver of the green bin rubbish collection. Great job!

THUMBS UP to Australia Post delivery driver Alex for always being so cheerful and polite as he delivers the packages.

THUMBS DOWN to the local swimming pool for the poor maintenance on their indoor disabled bathroom chair that has been out of order for over a month, preventing a wheelchair patron from being able to do their daily swim. It would be greatly appreciated if they made this a priority in being rectified!

A BIG THUMBS UP and ‘thanks’ to Sam at My Tech Mate for setting up a new phone for a Senior person. He even messaged a family member for me with the relevant information for them to contact the phone provider. Great friendly, helpful customer service — thoroughly recommend this business.

THUMBS UP to Luke Steele and the team at Ross Hill Wines. The first time I visited Orange we went to the winery and had such an amazing tasting! The team treated us like VIPs, we got a tour around the winery, had an amazing tasting, and even got a history lesson with the Pistol Packin Mama wine. Will definitely be visiting the winery again!

THUMBS UP to Janelle from Hair on Matthews for her kindness and for being the best hairdresser ever!

THUMBS DOWN Another fool of a driver on our local roads. Obviously having no respect for our hometown roads and the main street of our beautiful town.

A HUGE THUMBS UP to Rachel and all the dialysis nurses at Orange Base Hospital. They are so kind and caring, and Paul the tea man makes the best cuppas.
