Listen to Your Heart
Dobutamine Stress “Echo” Tests For many, a stress test makes them think of sweating on a treadmill. But for those with medical conditions who cannot do the treadmill test, there is the dobutamine stress echocardiogram (EHCO).
Dileep Menon, MD, is one of the Heart Clinic’s dedicated cardiologists. He is specialty-trained in interventional cardiology, and board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
Why have a stress test?
Learn more about heart disease and treatments available at www.heartclinicpllc.com
A doctor may prescribe a stress test to assess heart function and structure, to assess the status of known cardiovascular disease, to determine pre-op cardiac status, and more.
How do dobutamine stress echos work? The test helps doctors assess heart muscle function and structure under stress. The technician takes a resting ECHO. Then dobutamine, an intravenous medication that causes the heart to beat faster, is injected into the arm. Electrode patches connect the patient to the ECHO monitor. A transducer is placed on the skin to send sound waves into the body that “echo” off of the heart. The transducer sends the reflected echo waves to a computer, creating images of the heart that the doctor evaluates. Echo images of the heart before and after dobutamine are compared to detect coronary artery disease.
Trust the Heart Clinic The Heart Clinic has several locations to meet your needs. We are dedicated to keeping your heart healthy. If you need a dobutamine stress echocardiogram or just a routine EKG, trust our specialists. We’ll explain the procedure, step-by-step, from preparation to after your stress test.
For an appointment with Dr. Menon or other specialists at the Heart Clinic, call 956-926-4317.

DR. DAVID A. LEE, M.D. PLASTIC SURGERY
Dr. David A. Lee wishes to thank his new patients for the trust and interest show to him over the past six months he has been in practice in Edinburg-McAllen. He moved from Houston, Texas this past summer after having practiced there for over twenty years, located across from The Methodist Hospital and The Woman’s Hospital of Houston --- the two hospitals where he practiced. Dr. Lee had visited the RGV over the past several years visiting the relatives of his wife, Maria Teresa Yzaguirre Lee, and always liked the visit. His children had moved from Houston to San Francisco and New York City leaving no relatives in Houston. Moving to the valley for the final years of practice became the ideal solution for him and his wife – so, he gave his practice to a young Houston plastic surgeon, packed up the office, and moved to McAllen. Having set up his office at 2505 Cornerstone Blvd, Edinburg, Texas, 78539, he is thrilled at his acceptance in the community and really enjoys the people and the area. He is so happy to bring his Houston techniques as a Plastic Surgeon to the RGV and looks forward to continuing his practice here. Dr. Lee only practices Cosmetic and Selected Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. He no longer practices hand surgery and wound care, though he had several years of previous practice in these areas. He is pleased to bring the newest face-lift techniques and abdominoplasty techniques to the valley; that has happy patients agreeing with his results and personality.
Procedures offered per Dr. Lee: Rhinoplasty
Open verses closed techniques utilized
Face Lifts (cervical facial rhytidectomy) With select SMAS suspension, for lasting results.
Abdominoplasty
With emphasis on waistline preservation and improvement.
Blepharolasty (eye lifts) Augmentation Mammoplasty With the latest silicone implants and techniques.

ur friends at Casa Antigua c elebrated their customers with a formal event in gratitude of their loyal business. The spaces at Casa Antigua and NIU were full of wandering guests who greeted each other as they sipped on champagne. The crew looked amazing in their evening attire, not to mention the natural beauty of the glass building and its glowing, eye-catching chandeliers. The Casa Antigua customer is a worldly person whose interior design is a mix of old world and new world, exactly what Casa Antigua provides for its customers.

LIVE YOUR
HEALTIEST YEAR EVER
Have you tried every diet trend, super food and gym class you can find in the hopes of looking and feeling healthier, only to end up not achieving or sustaining your wellness and weight loss goals? Well, we sat down with Crystal Felici, Director at The One Healing Center, the “go-to” place for wellness, and asked her to give us a peek into some of the health tips and weight loss tricks she gives her successful clients.
>> “A
lthough diet and nutrition is key to weight loss, real lasting weight loss goes beyond just what you eat. Regardless of what my clients’ health goals are, there are a few tips I give everyone that will help them improve their overall health and vitality. These simple tips will help lift your energy, detox your system and leave you feeling rejuvenated,” says Crystal Felici PRACTICE SELF LOVE AND MEDITATION “Stop hating yourself LEMON WATER “You might be tired for everything you aren’t and start loving (or even a little hungover…), but your yourself for everything you are. Just 10 morning latte is not the answer. minutes a day of meditation or self loving When you wake up, don’t immediately thoughts connects you with your mind reach for coffee. Instead, have warm and body. Remember, a physical cleanse water with lemon. The lemon kick and emotional cleanse go hand in hand. starts digestion (and your metabolism) It’s important to free the mind from toxic and helps flush the liver.” thoughts, too.”

GREEN JUICE “After guzzling down your lemon water, follow it up with a fresh green juice. This infuses your system with a direct hit of vitamins and nutrients. Green Juice requires hardly any digestion, so all it’s nutritional goodness gets rapidly absorbed into your system while simultaneously giving your digestive system a rest. People think they have to do it perfectly, but the bottom line is you just can’t mess it up. Just keep your juice low in sugar by sticking to 3 vegetables to 1 fruit in your juices. That’s the 3:1 rule.”
Crystal Felici is a Holistic Health Coach and is the Director at The One Healing Center in McAllen. She is certified in Nutrition, Herbology and Iridology. She has specialized training in using food and herbs as medicine and is passionate about helping her patients overcome their health challenges. Through proper nutrition, detoxification and healthy lifestyle recommendations, Crystal helps her clients achieve total wellness.
3
CUT OUT GLUTEN, DAIRY, SUGAR & ALCOHOL “Yes, this is quite a list. But if lemon water and green juices aren’t cutting it for you, consider the elimination-diet route, where you give your body a break from “tamales” and sweets. All of these ingredients—and Holiday favorites—can create a toxic buildup. Try cutting them from your diet for five to seven days after the holiday to reboot your system.”
4 5
EPSOM SALT BATH “During winter you’re more prone to lower immunity, tension, stress and muscle pain. Creating a weekly ritual of taking a detox bath with Epsom salts (also known as Magnesium Sulfate) is one of the easiest healing therapies that can be done to facilitate and enhance our body’s natural detoxification process while enhancing sleep, alleviating tension and easing stress.”
6
GET BETTER SLEEP “Being rested balances fat-regulating hormones, reduces cravings and leaves you looking and feeling your best. Not getting eight hours of quality sleep each night could stall your fat loss efforts. The LED Light Therapy we offer is a scientifically backed machine that uses non invasive light to fight insomnia, boost your immune system, drastically reduces stress levels, and energizes your entire body. Only 30 minutes under our light is equivalent to 8 hours of sleep.” We offer the most effective natural therapies to transform your health while healing your mind, body and spirit. Our emphasis is on the prevention of illness, and our mission is to get you healthy and help you stay healthy. We help you de-stress, detox and lose weight...achieving your fullest potential! 901 E.
