CHAIRMAN’S REPORT With Christmas and New year well and truly past us we're all getting back into the swing of the remaining spring/summer series. I joined many club members down on Kangaroo Island and witnessed my first ever Ballast Head Cup race. American River was full of yachts and it was a great week of socialising. If you have no plans for next year I do urge you all to consider joining the KI crew for New Year. Well done to Andrew and David Saies who did a sterling job of organising the race which, in spite of the weather, was a great event. Welcome back to our Inshore Series and Coaster Series entrants. Our Post-Christmas Series Two Twilighlighters have enjoyed some pearler nights on the water so far this year. Wonderful nights with near-perfect twilight racing conditions. Thank you to Yalumba, Phil Hoffman Travel and the Stag Hotel who are once again supporting this series. Jess has returned from Maternity leave and we have worked with her to organise hours which will enable her to spend time with her new son Nate as well as fulfilling the duties on hand. Please be advised that she will be in the race office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday and is contactable during the hours via her new phone number 0418 230 431 when she is away from the desk. Congratulations to Andrew Corletto and his Shining Sea crew on their great performance at the Festival of Sails They won their division on IRC on the passage race, topped the podium for the Regatta in both IRC and AMS divisions and also took the top prize for the Beneteau Nationals. We look forward to seeing Shining Sea and her crew back at the club in the near future. Thank you to Keith Finch who has once again been invaluable to the club, firstly to supply and then later fix our air horn on CYC1 and more recently he assisted in fixing the Members' tractor. We appreciate your support. As we begin our plans for Port Lincoln I urge you all to consider safety. The onus is on the Skipper to ensure that boats conform to safety regulations and that all crew are aware of emergency procedures on each vessel. If anyone has any questions in this regard please contact Jess who can direct you to the best person to answer them. If anyone is looking for delivery crew or accommodation, again, please ask Jess. The RSAYS is the host Adelaide club for this year so please direct any inquiries regarding the RACE itself or Lincoln Week Regatta to PLYC or the RSAYS. As many of our boats will be in Port Lincoln and we have no racing scheduled Jess will take leave over this regatta period so our Race Office will be unattended.
