CHAIRMAN’S REPORT Thank you to all who attended Presentation Night recently. Our entertainment, booked months before, was a bit of a secret and a definite treat for those who had been following “The Voice” on television. Accomplished Adelaide singer Sarah Lloyd fronted her burlesque show and I think it’s safe to say that all eyes were front when the girls were strutting their stuff! Many agreed that Sarah’s amazing voice incredible voice deserved to take her further on “The Voice” but nevertheless we were happy that she was available to perform on our night. Thank you to Mario, Bridgit, Aaron and staff for the great service and delicious meals. If you haven’t eaten in Mariner’s Restaurant since Aaron took the helm, I do suggest you taste some of the great dishes on his Winter Menu.

Sun 17: Winter R3 (Plympton Cup) Sat 23: Short-handed R4

Congratulations to Les De Wit on winning Crew Person of the Year and Two True as Yacht of the Year. Thank you again to our wonderful Volunteer Duty Crews from CYC1 and CYC2 and of course our Racing Association Sponsors Phil Hoffman Travel, Yalumba, Penfolds, MUSTO, Port River Marine, Canegrass Saltbush Lamb, Doyles Sailmakers and The Stag.

I hope that most of you have responded to our Skipper Survey, we are about to sit down to plan our next season and we look forward to tabling your replies. It would be foolish to presume we can accommodate all requests but by collating numbers and giving all suggestions due consideration we hope to arrive at a program which offers something for everyone. As always, fleet numbers and available volunteer resources will also determine what we can and cannot offer in the coming program. On the topic of Volunteers, please contact Jess if you have any spare time or know of anyone who may be interested to help out our dedicated volunteer crew. Many people may think that volunteering is a week by week commitment but that’s not the case. Our aim at this point is to identify and train a pool of people from amongst our members who will be able assist and support our existing crews. I also encourage you all to consider nominating for REX this year (more on that at a later date).

As an adjunct to our Short Handed Series, a destination race has been planned to Port Vincent on the weekend of the 7th – 8th July. We will offer a Sat 4: Short-handed R7 & Series separate start for “stand alone” race for any compliant yachts who wish to participate, please contact Jess for details. Presentation Sun 5:
