MANERO PERIPHERAL BIGDATE

Anew day dawned for Carl F. Bucherer when it proudly presented the Manero Peripheral BigDate. With these timepieces, the Lucerne-based Swiss manufacturer emphasizes again its leadership in the field of peripheral watchmaking innovation. And when a big date meets a peripheral rotor, everything revolves around technical prowess and aesthetic beauty.

TEXT SOPHIE COLIN

It is a big day for a big date. And the big date is a very special one. The big date is combined with a peripheral rotor at the heart of a unique timepiece. Carl F. Bucherer continues to explore peripheral technology with a great deal of passion and an insatiable taste for challenge. Having designed the peripheral rotor, first combining it with a peripheral tourbillon and later a peripheral minute repeater, the company has now opted for the big date complication to pen the next chapter of horological history in the making. It is a narrative that is firmly embedded in the past to better serve the future.

INNOVATION SPRUNG FROM A LONG TRADITION

The success of Carl F. Bucherer in this epic tale of revolutionary watchmaking is rooted in exceptional foundations from which the brand constantly challenges the limits of engineering complexity. A modern interpretation of the traditional Swiss art of watchmaking, the Manero Peripheral BigDate embodies the values of the Lucerne based manufacturer. The timepiece is heir to a long tradition that has been passed down through four generations of the founding family and is the pride of its members. The acme of outstanding expertise and know-how that only a few watchmakers around the world master today. It is the successful finale to a challenging quest for innovation that demands a great deal of patience and is constantly aimed at pushing back the frontiers. In choosing peripheral technology as its hallmark, Carl F. Bucherer has demonstrated its skill in exploring the past to create the best basis for the present and the future and its excellence in the field of cutting-edge engineering. This is part of a rich heritage that also includes expertise in watch design. The Manero Peripheral BigDate is a magnificent example of both these missions. “OUR LAUNCH OF THE MANERO PERIPHERAL BIGDATE SOON AFTER THE SUCCESS OF THE MANERO MINUTE REPEATER SYMPHONY CONTINUED TO RAISE AWARENESS OF OUR MARKET LEADERSHIP IN PERIPHERAL TECHNOLOGY. THESE WATCHES CONTINUE TO UNDERSCORE BOTH OUR EXPERTISE AND OUR SPIRIT OF INNOVATION. THE MANERO PERIPHERAL BIGDATE IS AN OUTSTANDING TIMEPIECE THAT PERFECTLY BLENDS DESIGN, MATERIAL, AND TECHNOLOGY. IT ELEGANTLY ADDS TO THE UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE TALK ABOUT MADE OF LUCERNE AND CONTEMPORARY SWISS WATCHMAKING EXCELLENCE.”

A TIMEPIECE THAT UNITES TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE WITH BEAUTIFUL AND PRACTICAL DISPLAYS

The Manero Peripheral BigDate is powered by the CFB A2011 caliber, a COSCcertified mechanical manufacture movement with a peripheral rotor. The watch indicates a big date in a splendid window at 10 o’clock, the days of the week in a window positioned at 9 o’clock, the hours, the minutes, a small-seconds subdial discreetly highlighted by a contrast of colors and positioned at 6 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. Its stainless steel case has a diameter of 41.6 mm and a height of 12.21 mm. The anti-reflective coating on both sides of its sapphire crystal enhances legibility. The movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch is water-resistant to 30 m (3 bar).

The Manero Peripheral BigDate is inspired by another of the brand’s models: the Manero PowerReserve Mr Green and Mr Blue. The timepiece is available in two versions. One features a light blue dial with a small-seconds subdial in beige and is available on a beige textile strap with a stainless steel pin lock folding clasp or on a stainless steel bracelet with a stainless steel folding clasp. The other has a dark gray dial with an olive green small-seconds subdial and is available on an olive green textile strap with a stainless steel pin lock folding clasp or on a stainless steel bracelet with a stainless steel folding clasp. On the four models, the 12 indices are rhodium-plated, with a double index at 12 o’clock.

Seeking aesthetic inspiration in the company’s annals to combine it with cutting-edge technology, the Manero Peripheral BigDate links tradition with innovation as a living testimony to the celebration of a venerable tradition, constantly enriched, which casts it in the dual role of custodian of the past and visionary of the future.
