This Bitter Earth

Fri 21, 6pm & 8pm By Harrison David Rivers Directed by Peter Cieply Produced by Alex Deacon Neil is a privileged white activist fighting for #blacklivesmatter. Jesse is a queer black playwright reluctant to join any fight. Navigating their complicated love awakens both, but at a terrible cost. Originally Commissioned and Produced at The New Conservatory Theatre Center, September 22, 2017, San Francisco, California, Ed Decker, Artistic Director.

Little Fools

Blending true events with spoken word this show explores the impact that the people around you have on how you see the world.

Worlds End

Fri 28, 6pm & 8pm By Paul Sellar Directed by Spike Hart Produced by Lacey Ruttley Kat is moving out of the London flat she shares with her ex. Her best friend and the new man in her life are on hand to help. Worlds End is a love story for the 21st century.

Island Town

Sat 29, 6pm & 8pm By Simon Longman Directed by Catherine Cranfield Produced by Lydia Harrison Kate, Sam and Pete are stuck in a dead end town, but they've got cheap cider and their whole lives ahead of them. They're going to break away – all roads lead somewhere else, right?

JULY WEEK THREE HYSTERIA or Fragments of an Analysis of an Obsessional Neurosis

Thu 4, 6pm & 8pm By Terry Johnson Directed by Jacopo Panizza Produced by Guillaume Doussin A journey into the depths of the unconscious, this darkly comic tale explores trauma with a sprinkling of Surrealism. Sigmund Freud vs. Salvador Dalí - but, now, the doctor is the patient. Will he melt? This amateur production of “Hysteria” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD a Concord Theatricals Company

Dokunnu

Fri 5, 6pm & 8pm Written and Directed by Celeste Produced by Corey Reynolds Will just wants to party with his best mate James. His father is pressuring him to marry a nice English girl and his Black girlfriend Sarah wants a baby. Dokunnu is a new play that explores familial bonds, intercultural relationships and secrets.

It’s just that all the cupboard doors are open and there’s something wrong with his mum in the kitchen and it sounds like the Starbucks down the road is being held at gunpoint. He’d answer his ever-ringing phone but he’s already talking to someone, thank you very much.

2 SATURDAYS 14 SHOWS Super Saturdays are an exciting new addition to Catalyst Festival. 14 of the Festival’s shows will be taking place across two Saturdays, with seven solo shows on each day in Mountview’s Backstage Theatre, giving you the opportunity to see exciting, diverse and emerging work all in once place. Immerse yourself in Peckham’s own fringe theatre scene. Mountview’s Backstage Theatre is just one place where you can be entertained during Catalyst's Super Saturdays. Mountview's atrium will also be hosting a range of art including installation pieces and live music to make sure the performance doesn’t stop when the show ends.

THE HOME PROJECT SATURDAY 13 AND 20 JULY, 1:30PM Are you based in Peckham? Do you have a story to tell? We’re looking for storytellers to be part of this initial phase of Mountview’s Home Project, an installation that will form part of a programme of work to galvanise the local community. Joining Peckham resident, artist and Mountview Executive Director Sarah Preece to explore different approaches to telling your stories and sharing your experiences of what Peckham means to you. Stories can be biographical, and include artefacts, music, photographs, or any other historical materials. All ages are welcome and no prior experience is required. Just come along with a story to tell and a passion for Peckham.
