Connie L. Cochran
Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations & Special Events, Texas Southern University alumni to the University through involvement and financial support. She also mentors students and serves as an advisor to student organizations, including the Pre Alumni Association and Collegiate 100. Cochran graduated Cum Laude from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. She was very involved in campus life, serving as a member and captain of the Lady Tigers Tennis Team and named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. She was initiated into Gamma Psi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Texas Southern University. She holds a Master of Science degree from Chicago State University.

onnie L. Cochran serves as Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations & Special Events at Texas Southern University, carrying more than 29 years of experience in her field. Cochran moved to Houston from Chicago, Illinois where she previously served as Executive Director of Alumni Relations & Special Events at the largest College of Medicine in the country – the University of Illinois – Chicago. Cochran was named Alumni Director of the Year by the Black College Hall of Fame and received an HBCU Leadership Award. She has been the keynote speaker for several events and conferences. She is a member of St. James Episcopal Church. She is currently a Life Member of the Texas Southern University Alumni Association. She is a Life Member, Silver Star and National Editor for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Regional Editor for Jack & Jill of America, Inc. and a member of the Links, Inc. She is a liaison on a national HBCU Task Force and works to bring more awareness to the human trafficking issue. She is a member of numerous boards and was a featured guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show entitled “Career Women Who Do It All.” Cochran was Chairman of the 2016 Debutante Ball for the Houston Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc.
