Dr. Janice M. Beal
President, Beal Counseling Associates / Beal Behavioral Health Department called “Let’s Beat Covid-19 Health Education and Support Services H.E.S.S”. In the capacity of Director, her team answered over 1500 calls in three months. Dr. Beal and her team were able to address numerous suicide calls, callers suffering from anxiety and depression, callers in need of support services, and callers who just needed someone to talk to.

r. Janice M. Beal, is a researcher, clinician, author, and behavioral expert. Her leadership and administrative experiences include President of Beal Counseling Associates, and Beal Behavioral Health. Currently, she is contracted as a mental health expert for the Steve Fund. Where she serves as the program director for “Well Being In Color” a peer mental health educational program, and support groups for students of color. This program is unique and will reach over six hundred students in Houston and New York city. In 2020, she developed and implemented two Covid-19 crisis mental health hotlines/ helplines. The first was for the Houston Independent School District (HISD) one of the largest school districts in the county, reaching out to the student body, parents, teachers, and administrators. Callers of all ages called in to discuss their psychological difficulties while adjusting to the pandemic. The second helpline was developed for the City of Houston (4th largest city) Health 42

a consultant for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee on youth mental health, and domestic violence for COVID-19 victims. As an academician she served in the role of coordinator for the Psychology Program at Prairie View A & M University for seven years. She was also an Assistant Professor teaching classes in general psychology, research methods, adolescent psychology, and African American issues in psychology. Dr. Beal has also served as an adjunct faculty member for the University of St. Thomas and Sam Houston State University. In addition, she has been a television, and radio expert for many years.
At Beal Counseling Associates, Dr. Beal is the Clinical Director and Primary Therapist. Her administrative duties include overseeing the billing and reporting process for operations. She oversees the systems for each contract to ensure compliance with each client’s reporting procedure.
