obert Turner, president of JK Chevrolet Subaru in Nederland, Texas and Turner Chevrolet in Crosby, “The Fastest Growing Dealership in Harris County.”
Robert Turner, a native of Marshall, Texas, is the first African-American to own a dealership in Jefferson County. He began his career in the automotive industry in 1976 at Cole’s Garage. Over the next 24 years, Turner held various positions at several dealerships. He received top salesperson honors while working at: Toyota Town in Dallas from 1983-1984, Butts Oldsmobile in Dallas from 19841989, Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson from 1989-1998 and Showcase Chevrolet in Dallas from 1998-2000 (managing Partner with Van Enterprises). On November 6, 2000, Turner became

dealer principal of JK Chevrolet-Isuzu. Turner added Subaru to his portfolio in the spring of 2009 and Turner Chevrolet Crosby in June 2014.
award in 2002 and Rookie of the Year Award in 2001. In addition to being a member of the General Motors Minority Dealers Association (GMMDA), he has served on the association’s board and is past chairman of the General Motors Minority Dealers Advisory Council (MDAC). Turner has chaired the National Auto Dealer Association’s first Minority Twenty Group and was the project leader for the GMMDA Summer Internship Program. He embraces his community as a Past Member of the Board of Managers of BISD, past chairman of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Downtown Rotary Club and a 2003 graduate of Leadership Southeast Texas.
Turner has been recognized on many different levels for his expertise as a businessman. In addition to being an HMSDC Minority Vendor, he is a multiyear recipient of Black Enterprise BE 100S, a 2006 and 2014 Better Business Bureau Texas Torch Award Finalist and the recipient of the Peak Performer Award. In 2005 and 2017, Turner received the General Motors “Mark of Excellence” award and was named Business Person of the Year by the Golden Triangle Minority Business Council. He also received the General Motors’ Profit Enhancement Program He resides in the Beaumont/Port Arthur Most Improved Dealer of the Year’ area with his wife and children.

Tony Chase 2019 LIVING LEGEND
Chase is a tenured Professor of Law at the University of Houston Law Center, where he began teaching in 1990 and was awarded tenure in 1995. He teaches several courses including Contracts, Entrepreneurship, Communications Law and Race and American Law. Chase is the recipient of many awards including the American Jewish Committee’s 2016 Human Relations Award, Houston Technology Center’s 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year, 2013 Mickey Leland Humanitarian Award (NAACP), 2013 Bob Onstead Leadership Award (GHP) and the 2012 Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award. He also received Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, the Pinnacle Award (Bank of America) and the Baker Faculty Award (UH Law Center). ony Chase is the Chairman and CEO of ChaseSource, LP. He grew up attending Houston public schools. He received a Stouffer scholarship for the purpose of integrating elite private schools and attended Episcopal High School in Virginia. He is an honors graduate of Harvard College, having received a law degree from Harvard Law School and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Chase is an entrepreneur. He started and sold three ventures and now owns and operates a fourth. The first was Chase Radio Partners that owned seven radio stations and was sold to Clear Channel Communications in 1998. The second was Cricket Wireless, a nationwide cell phone service provider that he started together with Qualcomm in 1993. The third was ChaseCom, a company that built and operated call centers around the world, which he sold to AT&T Corporation in 2007. Currently, he owns ChaseSource

ave J. Moss, Jr. is a Houston, Texas native. He is a graduate of Jesse Jones High School. He attended college at Houston Community College, Prairie View A&M University and the University of Houston. Moss started his career off with the City of Houston’s Solid Waste Management department as the Associate Supervisor of Residential Operations from 1974 to 1979. He then moved to Browning-Ferris Industries as the Director of Operations from 1979 to 1984. He was responsible for the set-up and operations of BFIResidential in Saudi Arabia. After leaving Saudi Arabia, he decided to venture out into the world of entrepreneurship. Moss purchased his first McDonald’s restaurant in 1984 and became the youngest McDonald’s franchise owner in Houston history. That same year, he received the “Rookie of the Year” award and the Outstanding Store award from McDonald’s Corporation. He purchased his second restaurant in 1985. Moss has since grown his company to as many as 11 restaurants, buying and selling through his 34 years as a successful owner. Currently, he is the owner of seven McDonald’s restaurants in the city of Houston. He has recently welcomed his two sons as Second-Generation owneroperators in their family McDonald’s organization. He has served as a board representative for the National Black McDonald’s Owner Association and member and current president of Delta Educational & Charitable Foundation. He has been the McDonald’s lead operator of the Mayor’s Summer Hire Houston Youth Program, as well as the security liaison for the Houston Police Department/McDonald’s Security Task Force. He is a life member of the NAACP and is immediate past president of the Black McDonald’s Owner’s Association-Houston Chapter. Byron Alfred 2019 SUPER TRAILBLAZER
After he stopped working for the judge, he went to work for the oldest personal injury law firm in the state of Texas. There Alfred worked with some of the top attorneys in Texas and looked to them for career mentorship. Upon graduation, Alfred accepted a job at VB Attorneys and has been working there for the past six years. With the help and guidance of some very successful attorneys at this firm, he has established himself as an accomplished and soughtafter attorney with a reputation for regularly achieving seven-figure verdicts and settlements for his clients. His largest recovery to date was a total of $44,370,000 for a case against B&G Crane Service for an incident that occurred at the ExxonMobil Beaumont Refinery. This verdict is now officially recognized as the No. 1 Work Injury Verdict in Texas for 2018. When Alfred isn’t working on a case, he is back home in Port Arthur helping the community. His main community interest is mentoring high school and college athletes on life after sports and maximizing the things they learned and can apply to their work life. He has his wife, Talia, and 2-year old daughter, Giselle, to keep him going through all the legal work and time constraints that come in addition to the emotional toll from his cases.

yron Alfred’s life was dedicated to sports. He played football throughout college as a starting offensive lineman for the University of Houston and even had NFL aspirations. But when knee and shoulder injuries derailed that dream, he decided to pursue a career in law. He went to South Texas College of Law where he completed his law degree in 2013. While attending law school he

Dee Howard Mullins 2019 COMMUNITY HERO
Huntsville City Council Member Position #2 At Large. Her late father, Percy Howard, had also served on the City Council and had been very active in the community. Mullin’s election to an at-large seat versus a ward seat was a challenge. There were two other candidates in this non-partisan race. The election in November 2018 resulted in a runoff between Mullin’s and one of the contenders. She garnered the most votes but not over 50%. The runoff election in December was a major victory with Mullins winning all precincts except the one where the opponent lives. She now holds several firsts. The Howards are the first father and daughter to serve on this council, and she is the first African American to win an at-large city position in Huntsville. ee Howard Mullins grew up in Huntsville, Texas. She graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and she later earned a master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University. Mullins has lived in Galveston, Houston, Austin and San Antonio. From 1977 to 2005, she had a successful career in the Criminal Justice field with many roles, including Juvenile Parole Officer, Juvenile Probation Officer and Federal Probation Officer. Mullins retired from Federal Probation as a Senior Administrator responsible for Training and Human Resources. Following retirement, Mullins became

the Executive Director of the San Antonio non-profit ACTN. ACTN’s mission is to address financial, educational, health and social barriers in disadvantaged communities. This organization works in partnership with the San Antonio Spurs and managed the WNBA San Antonio Silver Stars practice facility. Mullins served on the San Antonio board of the YWCA and was a CASA volunteer. She has served on numerous local boards and commissions. She was appointed by Governor Ann Richards to two state commissions. She participated in Leadership Austin and Leadership Texas. Mullins returned to Huntsville in 2017 to help care for her mother and renew old friendships. In August 2018, she filed for

artha Castex-Tatum won a special election on May 5, 2018 and was sworn in as the Houston City Council Member for District K on May 16, 2018. She currently serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Committee, the Economic Development Committee, the Housing and Community Affairs Committee and the Transportation, Technology and Infrastructure Committee. She was also selected by Mayor Turner to represent the City of Houston on the Texas Municipal League Board of Directors and is the ViceChair of the Education subcommittee. As a longtime and active resident of District K, Castex-Tatum is committed to serving constituents through her passion for the community and her diligence as a public servant. She is an advocate for senior citizens and small business owners. She is also dedicated to increasing beautification projects and economic development throughout the district. Castex-Tatum graduated from Lamar High School in Houston ISD. She is also a graduate of Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University, in San Marcos, TX, where she earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Public Administration degrees. After graduating she served as an adjunct professor at the university, while beginning to voice her passion for her community through political service. While in San Marcos, Castex-Tatum’s desire to serve where she lives led her to unseat a 12- year City Council incumbent, becoming the first African-American woman to be elected in the city’s history. She served on the San Marcos City Council from 2000-2003 and held the position of Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore during her tenure. She also served on the San Marcos Economic Development Council and the Convention and Visitor Bureau.
She continues her real estate career with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, where she assists new and existing residents with home sales and purchases and is consistently an award winning top producer. n Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 the Missouri City Council Members unanimously approved the hiring of Fire & Rescue Services Chief Eugene Campbell, Jr. He holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Work Force Education from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Additionally, he holds an Associate of Art degree in Fire Service Management and an Associates of Art degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Southern Nevada (CCSN), Las Vegas. Campbell also has attained the certifications to include Head of Department certification from the Texas Fire Commission, Executive Fire Officer (EFO) from the Department of Homeland Security-National Fire Academy and Chief Fire Officer Designation (CFOD) from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. In addition, he has completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Naval Post Graduate School, the Leadership program for Executives at the Kennedy School of Government, at Harvard University and the

Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service and the LEAD program at the University of Virginia. Campbell’s professional memberships include the Texas Fire Chiefs Association, Fort Bend County Fire Chiefs Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs where he has served on the Homeland Security Committee and the Education and Development Committee. Campbell is honored to lead a department whose mission is “to preserve life, property and promote a safe community.” The department’s vision is, “Professionals committed to Excellence, Honor and Service to all.” Campbell strives to activate these charges by leading a department of firefighters and staff members. Their primary functions are Community Risk Reduction, Fire and Emergency Medical Response, Leadership Development, Emergency Management and Administration. Since joining Missouri City, the department under Campbell’s leadership effectively
responded to Hurricane Harvey, recalling approximately 2/3rd of personnel and help from the neighboring departments, citizens and other emergency agencies. They were able to rescue or assist citizens stranded by high waters that resulted in approximately 1,300 rescues and evacuations, and as a result not one citizen in Missouri City lost their life because of the worst flood in the city’s history. Two other major initiatives completed are a Risk Assessment – Standard of Cover for the City and a new Strategic Plan. Both processes where compiled in a collaborative process with stakeholders, which led to the purchase of a New Apparatus and the approval to build a new Fire Station. Campbell is married to wife Debra, and they have two adult sons. Together they enjoy church, family trips, serving the community though holiday food drives and Chief Santa’s Toy drive, risk reduction efforts and being involved in youth-based mentorship. He is a member of the Oyster Creek Rotary club and attends church locally.

astor James E. Nash is a man of character and integrity. Nash has been the Pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church on Brandon Street for 48 years in the Sunnyside area. He is also a community activist, working in the community to help solve crime issues and other problems. He helped to organize the Asian- African American Task Force, to build cultural relationships between the Asian store owners and the Black community. Nash is also the president of the Sunnyside Place Community Development Inc. and has worked with project Houston Hope to build affordable homes in the Sunnyside area. Nash hosted the Sunnyside Community Voice television show. He has hosted two community parades in Sunnyside. Nash traveled to Washington DC, along with the late Director Delores Hadnot, to represent the Southeast American Red Cross for the Katrina Disaster. As a Red Cross facility, the Marcie L. Keys Center housed more than 300 evacuees during the Katrina disaster. Nash was also selected to give the Inauguration prayer for Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and late Mike Anderson, former District Attorney. Some of his other affiliations include: Campaign Treasurer – Council Member At Large Michael Kubosh, Former Board member - Southeast American Red Cross, former Secretary - Houston Ministers Against Crime (H.M.A.C.), Board Member - Harris County Public Defenders organization and Vice President - Sunnyside South Park Super Neighborhood Civic Club. Under her watch, Fort Bend carried the Democratic Presidential nominee in November 2016. Fort Bend County turned blue November 2018 and gutted the GOP’s stronghold on the county’s power structure. O’Neal has provided consultative services to a range of companies and organizations on the local, state and national levels. revitalizing Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Additionally, he was instrumental in creating the MLK Boulevard Merchants Association. Rig Runner Holdings is a $140 million annual revenue, privateequity logistics, oil rig and space rocket moving company with over 15 terminals, 225 employees and 400 owner operator trucks on the road. In 2012, he was elected to the Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees, where he currently serves as President of the School Board of Trustees. He is the second black board member to ever serve in the history of the school district (preceded only by his mentor, the Great Mr. Gerald D. Irons, Sr). His community service also extends to serving on the Montgomery County Women’s Center Board of Directors. Over the years, Williams and his wife, Maya, founded Brighton Academy Child Development Center in The Woodlands and sold the business after growing it to over 100 children. Mitchell throughout his life, from working at the YWCA on MLK Blvd to volunteering and working for Neighborhood Centers, Inc, as a counselor in 1988. He relocated to Houston in 2000 from Los Angeles, California after a successful career in entertainment and established Bee Busy Inc., a non-profit organization with his wife, Darcy Padgett, writing and performing plays, spreading HIV prevention messages and counseling and testing to teach people about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections. Today, Mitchell is the co-founder and CEO of Bee Busy Wellness Center, founded a decade ago. During his tenure as CEO, Mitchell has acquired more than $20,700,000.00 in grant funds, and has developed an array of community programs designed to reach the hardest to reach populations, African American and Latino men and women and MSM (men who have sex with men but do not identify themselves as gay or bisexual), as well as Transgender Women of Color. Mitchell has served in the capacity of Risk Reduction Specialist, Certified Health Education Specialist, Certified Community Health Worker, Community Outreach Specialist, Community Health Education Specialist, Funds Retrieval Officer, HIV Counselor, Phlebotomist and trainer of trainers. Almost 1,200 contracts were issued to small and disadvantaged businesses, which valued over $425M. Johnson is proud to have been a part of such a significant event in Houston’s history. More recently, Johnson also served as the DBE Manager for the Prime Contractor on the Grand Parkway (SH 99) Project, Segments H & I. r. Carla Brailey has played a pivotal role in establishing the framework and foundation for long-term success in educational institutions, nonprofit organizations and government agencies. While she serves as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Texas Southern University, throughout her career she has been repeatedly sought out as a consultant and subject matter expert in the areas of social justice, diversity and inclusion, Black women and empowerment, strategic management, organizational development, staff training, curriculum planning and program creation. She has provided professional advisement to Mayor Yolanda Ford, Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Transition Team, Project Rowhouses and the Imani School, just to name a few. Most recently, she became the Vice Chair of the Texas Democratic Party.
was tapped by Adrian M. Fenty mayoral administration in Washington, DC to serve in several leadership roles. She was at the forefront of the planning, development and execution of the newly formed Office of Community Affairs, where she held direct oversight for nine community relations and constituent services offices and closely managed a $3 million budget. During this time frame, she was also selected to serve as the mayor’s liaison for the 2010 Census.

In a concurrent role as the Senior Religious Affairs Advisor, Brailey kept the Mayor abreast of key faith-based initiatives and pressing issues on a local, federal and national level. In addition, she frequently represented the Mayor’s interest at high-profile events. Previously, she was appointed as the Director for the Office of Boards and Commissions and successfully drove an intense, fast-paced applicant screening campaign for more than 150 vacant regulatory and legislative positions.
Brailey has contributed to educational growth and professional development of hundreds through her roles as a professor, guest lecturer and servant leader for Texas Southern University, University of Houston, Howard University, South Texas School of Law, Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, New Leaders Council, Leadership Houston and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dr. Brailey is most excited to be a grant recipient of a faculty initiative to conduct an exploratory study on the life and legacy of the late Honorable Barbara Jordan. Her scholarship on social inequality, social justice and women empowerment is certainly apparent in her community engagement and will be most prevalent in her upcoming co-edited book on Women and Inequality in the 21st Century. Her many scholarly and servant leadership endeavors have also been recognized by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce as a 2018 Role Model for Women in the Fast Lane of STEAM. An engaging and vibrant speaker, Brailey has been invited as a guest commentator, facilitator and moderator by Majic 102 FM KMJQ Sunday Morning Show with Marcus Davis, Fox 26, Andrew Rankin Chapel at Howard University, Greater Houston Black Chamber, Leadership Houston, Houston Museum-African American Culture, and several academic conferences in sociology and African American studies. Most recently, Brailey served as a Co-Host of the Saturday morning show, Impact Houston Live on KTSU 90.9 FM radio, where she co-produced, coordinated and facilitated impactful dialogue on issues related to community and public affairs, particularly the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. She is currently co-producer of Tiger Tuesday with Melinda Spaulding. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Texas State University and several degrees from Howard University. In her many achievements, she is most humbled and proud to be the mother of her 10-year-old daughter, Marley J.

James L. Marshall, Jr. 2019 SUPER P&E
money, Marshall developed the Mini Moguls financial comic book series. This series is now a book on lessons in money management for kids used in schools, after school programs and summer camps. Marshall converted these early years of training into a successful nine-year career with American Express Financial Advisors before starting Marshall Wealth Management, LLC, a wholly-owned registered investment advisory firm with offices in Louisville and Houston. During this period he has reached great heights in the industry by qualifying for the Million Dollar Round Table Top of the Table designation, which consist of the top one percent of producing financial services professionals in the world. Marshall says that he has been able to accomplish this level of success by staying committed to educating the black community about the wealth building process. A great example of that education can be found in his book: “Wealth: Unlock the secrets to creating and protecting black family prosperity� His status in the investment industry has lead him to being quoted in several newspapers and magazines such as the Arizona Republic, Courier Journal and Proud Magazine, where he was a contributing columnist. A graduate of Western Kentucky University, Marshall continues his involvement by serving on the WKU Foundation Board and the Board of Advisors to the President. His commitment to encouraging more African Americans to choose a career in the investment industry has led him to establish the J.L. Marshall Learning and Living Community at Western Kentucky University Gordon School of Business.

On his campuses, students were engaged in higher level thinking activities as he inspired critical and diverse thinking. Since 2001, Allen has served as Executive Director of the KnowledgeFirst Empowerment Center. Through his vision, Knowledge-First has created an educational environment of learning aimed at motivating students to do more than just acquire knowledge. “At Knowledge-First, we believe education should not only address the intellectual capacities but should be a matter of attaining proficiencies that lead to lifelong resiliency. We believe, as did Plato, that the purpose and ultimate value of education is not to stick thoughts into the pupils’ head, but to inspire them to think for themselves.” Through his efforts Allen transformed Knowledge-First into an accredited 501(c)(3) non-profit K-12 Academy. This distinction allows students who have or are in danger of dropping out of school an opportunity to return to school and obtain their high school diploma. This unique paradigm has received grants, donations and major funding that has been influential in assisting students (Ages 16-66) in obtaining their High School Diploma.

rian G. Busby serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Houston Independent School District, the nation’s seventh largest school district. A 21-year veteran with HISD, Busby has served in his current post since December 2016. In his role, he oversees an annual operating budget of more than $260 million and leads a workforce of more than 7,000 employees from seven major departments, including construction, transportation, nutrition, police, facilities, support and strategic engagement and outreach. His oversight includes bond construction programs, totaling more than $3 billion, and a real estate portfolio with more than 30 million square feet of facility space in more than 600 buildings at more than 300 locations spread out over 300 square miles. He also manages a fleet of nearly 1,000 buses that travel more than 15 million miles annually, a food service operation that serves 250,000 meals daily and a public school district police department that is the only one of its kind to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. Busby began his career with HISD just two years after graduating from high school, working as a custodian. He quickly advanced, serving in a variety of departments and positions, including stints as General Manager and later Officer of Facilities Services. A graduate of the University of Phoenix and the University of Houston, Busby received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management and master’s degree in Business Administration. Dr. Darrell L. Rushing 2019 SUPER P&E
composed of numerous chapters of the G.M.W.A. within the state of Texas. Rushing received his Doctorate Degree of Sacred Music from Christian Bible Institute and Seminary in 2009. He serves as the Laboratory Coordinator of the Prairie View A&M College of Nursing under the leadership of Dr. Betty N. Adams. Rushing has produced and recorded three albums and three CD’s of his own, including one organ instrumental CD where he is featured on the Hammond B3 organ. He is the composer of 2009 Grammy nominated song “I Owe It All to God,” which was submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records as one the longest consecutively played gospel songs in national radio history. In 2009, Rushing received a Gospel Music Legends Award at the Houston Gospel’s Legends Gala hosted by the Houston Chapter of The Gospel Music Workshop of America. He was also presented with the 2011 “Living Legends Award” by the Announcers Guild of the Gospel Music Workshop of America in February 2011 and was a recipient of the Houston’s Great Gospel Music Legends Award presented by the Houston Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America in July 2011. In addition to his gospel career, he is the CEO of three companies in Houston: Rush-In Consultants, D-VOTED LIVING Inc., a nonprofit organization that assist with housing for disabled veterans and Delicacies by Darrell, a local catering company in the Houston area.

Jones has several other business ventures in addition to Level One Fitness. One of those ventures is his personal training business, Train with Ken. He is also launching his own fitness clothing line, AIE. This clothing line stems from his motto, Appearance is Everything and is a fitness-meets-fashion line set to come out in Spring 2019. When Jones isn’t training or working, he can be found giving back to his community. He began doing speaking events on health and fitness to help educate the community on the importance of a healthy lifestyle. He and his staff at Level One Fitness also give back to the community through an “adopt-a-park” program that allows them to take on the responsibility of cleaning up and improving parks in their neighborhood. Within the community, Jones noticed another area where needs were not being met: the youth. Since joining the Office of Business Opportunity in 2012, Murray has been integral to its growth and evolution, having led comprehensive policy and operational updates to the City’s diversity business program which now serves as a model for similar programs nationwide. Recognizing a need in Houston’s small business community, she spearheaded the expansion of the Office of Business Opportunity’s services to include facilitating the provision of free legal assistance and guidance on doing business globally. She led the implementation of a city-wide proactive housing program, which dramatically changed New York City’s approach from reactive to proactive in its housing preservation efforts. She also successfully addressed a protracted rental subsidy administrative hearing process to achieve compliance with governing federal regulations and ultimately achieve monetary savings allowing the City to serve significantly more citizens in need.
Murray has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish from Colgate University and a Law degree from Villanova University School of Law. She is a graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum and has served as an advisory board member of the World Chamber of Commerce. Murray has served on national and international panels advocating for the continued support and development of small businesses. Her advocacy for businesses to thrive globally has led her to recently earn a National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators Certified Global Business Professional designation. While Gustavia Pearls Women’s Outreach is a big part of Russell’s daily routine, it’s not the only place where she’s able to exemplify her leadership skills. She is currently an active member and Secretary of Pleasantville Super Neighborhood Council #57, Pleasantville Voter’s League #259, NAACP Houston Chapter, Board Member of Texas Girls Collaborative Project, where she serves as STEM community liaison, and a member of the UT Physician Multispecialty – Jensen (CAB) Community Advisory Board. Martins participates in the community through the Project Alife Foundation, which works to give back to the community that raised him. It has been operating for over four years now. In 2018, the Project Alife Foundation was able to award a $1000 college scholarship, take a group of YMCA students to the premier of the Black Panther, gift an elementary school with bicycles for Christmas and hand out blankets to the less fortunate during the holiday season. One of those is called “I Am Bullied,” which is a line she started for her son who was being bullied at school. He started off with one truck, but after Hurricane Harvey he lost that truck and had to start over. Outside of running his business, Jones finds time to give back to the community. He gives back to his hometown of Memphis by helping inner city kids who need a male mentor. He also held a large fundraiser and was able to give 300 turkeys to families in Memphis. He also gives back to his second home, Houston. There he mentors young men who want to become truck drivers and works with them to help pass their exams and find jobs after. In her 17 plus years of practicing law, attorney Manor has worked in several areas. She concentrated her early career as a fee attorney for three major title companies. Here, Manor was of but a handful (at times the only) African American Woman fee attorney for these title companies in Houston. Throughout her fee attorney and escrow practice, Manor closed and had an integral part in home ownership for thousands of Texans. Allotey serves as the head chef, proprietor, owner and operator. He attended Indiana University from 1993-1998 on a full athletic football scholarship.
