It’s great to talk to ygs again. I hope you are all enjoying the weather and taking full advantage of our last ful month of summer. If some of you may have seen … division 04 north has some very exciting things going on. FIRST OFF I am glad to announce the start of our annual pen pal system! The pen pal system is a great way for members across the division to get know others from different schools to bond over monthly challenges. If you are interested be sure to signup before the deadline and get the chance to meet your new best friend.
Apart from that, later on in the month will be the start of our annual summer week of service, otter eats and our 430 night market with 4west and 30south! Be sure to be on the lookout for these things and with that I can’t wait to see ygs soon!

WHATS POPPIN OTTERS?!?!!
My name is Duy Le, and I serve you as your Member Recognition for the 2023-2024 term! My role for the Division is to ensure that members, officers, advisors, and clubs are recognized for their hard work and dedication as well as track progress of all schools. So far, I have seen tremendous headway made from every club, whether it is with fundraisers, member retention, or services. As for my Division Leadership Team officers, I could not have asked for a better group of people to be working alongside for this term. I cannot wait to create lasting memories with you all! Finally, with summer passing by so quickly, I made the most of my break before senior year by hanging out with friends and family. I hope everyone is also having an amazing summer :)) And to all the rising seniors, let’s end our high school and Key Club journey together!
SUPER MARIO-TC
This year’s Region 3 Officer Training Conference, “SUPER MARIO-TC” was a fantastic learning experience for the officers of the new term. Held on June 17th at the McFadden Institute of Technology, Officers across the region received training for their respective positions. At the beginning of the conference, the Region’s Lieutenant Governors performed a hilarious skit about Mario’s adventure through OTC! There were many engaging workshops and activities that provided us the knowledge we needed to set us up for our year of adventure! As treasurer of Bolsa Grande Key Club, I attended my respective workshop with some of my fellow officers which was held by my Lt. Governor, Valerie Tran! In this workshop, I was able to learn about Key Club International’s preferred charities, how to create effective fundraising, the membership update center, and annual dues! I also attended the second workshop held by Valerie Tran in which we played a fun game of “Would You Rather” where I got to learn more about my fellow officers and their opinions on several topics. After the workshops, we were fed pizza and I even saw a table giving out free shoes before the closing remarks. Events like these make me love being an officer of Key Club because I get to meet so many new people across the region and also learn the value of leadership and helping my own community. I cannot wait for what this year has in store!
BG x LQ BOARD SOCIAL
When hearing about the kayaking social with Bolsa Grande I got really excited because I hadn’t gone kayaking in a while and the last time I went it was very enjoyable. When first meeting Bolsa Grande’s board it was a bit awkward of course, but after everyone greeted each other, I felt like everyone got a lot more comfortable. The scenery of the ride was very gloomy at the start however, after the sun came out everything started to get better. After we rode around the place we all got together and took group photos. Luckily a very nice lady was able to take a full group photo for us. After kayaking for around two hours everyone was soaked and we all returned to the dock safely. Lastly, we were all hungry so we went to this burger place called Pocket Burger Shack and got a bite to eat. Overall the kayaking was a nice bonding experience and I would definitely do it again!
HB BEACH CLEAN-UP
This was an in-person service event as well as a social event where me, along with other members went to the beach to not only clean it up but to hold a bonfire later in the day. While me and a friend were cleaning, we found very odd things such as a kid’s shoe, plastic, and even fresh Starbucks cups, but it was nice to be able to clean up the beach. After the cleaning was over, we would just relax for the rest of the social and hosted a bonfire with smores to end off the night.
LUIS TRUONG | WESTMINSTER
During the beach clean-up, we all raced to pick up trash with our partners to see which pair could gather the most! Sadly, my partner and I lost the competition, but I still enjoyed the opportunity to help clean my community. We also had a LARGE bonfire, which took a while because we needed more materials. Luckily, we succeeded in making a bonfire, and all enjoyed smores together. Overall, the beach cleanup was such a fun bonding experience!
