Greetings my fellow KEY-uties, This month is where everyone tends to be really active in Key Club because there’s Fall Rally coming up! So I hope everyone is helping up their club fundraise for PTP. Also, just recently we held our Region 4 Training Conference. I want to thank all of you that went and hopefully learned a lot about Key Club and for those underclassmen, I hope you guys had been persuaded to run for a position next year. RTC was an amazing opportunity, a way to interact with the rest of the region and for me having the opportunity to present about Editors and share my experience, together with D6N News Editor, was truly a Key Club moment. I hope everyone has a great month and can’t wait to see most of you at Fall Rally South! If you have any question, I will have an answer. Feel free to email me at d06s.keyclub.dne@gmail.com

Hello Polar Bears! I am so thankful for a great turnout for our first half of our term! We have several months to go, and I believe we can prosper and still improve ourselves, our clubs, and our community as we work together. I have definitely learned a lot the last couple of months and I seek to improve myself and the clubs I serve for. I believe our time committed to Key Club is valuable and life changing where there is always a time to help others no matter how small or big it might be. I believe in all of the key clubbers in my hometown club, division, and in the nation to make a difference in the world. We have the power to change lives and we hold the key to success as a committed group of service-oriented, over-achieving students.

MEMBER | NADIA ESPINOZA

I believe Nadia Espinoza should be member of the month because although our school has been taking everything slow, she's been on everything and has made sure to be present at every meeting even if she's extremely late, she'll stay and ask for all the information. She's also been coming up with different events to look into and participate. - Lyhour Lay | Member Recognition Coordinator

OFFICER | MENGHUY SOK

Menghuy Sok is currently serving in our division at Chaparral High School as treasurer for the 2016-2017 key club term. Menghuy has demonstrated characteristics vital as a key club leader. He goes out of his way to solve issues that has been coming about in the club such as with Division T-Shirt orders and taking recyclables to the recycling center for our funds. Although he is the only one who can drive as an officer, he still happily offers to take recyclables. The time and dedication he has put into his community as an officer has proved his love for key club as well as the community. We all understand everyone learns at some point and it is okay to make mistakes. Menghuy has demonstrated consistent improvement through the struggles in tasks, but has kept up efficiently. For example, Chaparral Key Club’s bookkeeper has made a mistake on thepurchases of shirts and overpriced and he had made a tremendous effort to solve the issue once it hit the surface. This was not the only time he had to communicate to the bookkeeper and it has shown perseverance and a love for his club, school, and community. - Cindy Tsai | D6S Executive Assistant & Chaparral Key Club Editor

CLUB HERITAGE |

For the month of September, Heritage Key Club has shown a great start off to the school year. They started multiple fundraisers in one month, including Trick-or-Treat For UNICEF, a PTP Chipotle Fundraiser, and a Rafiki Bracelet Fundraiser. In addition, they successfully executed their first blood drive with LifeStream Blood Banks; reaching their goal of collecting over 120 pints of blood. Furthermore, Heritage has created a new method of planning, advertising, and executing events. Overall, they began with a strong foot and continued to walk throughout the whole month.

Dog Toy Making

Rancho had its first event at school with Paracord Bracelet and Dog Toy making afterschool. While it was short and we only made a limited amount of Paracord bracelets and dog toys, our new members in addition to the returning ones seem to enjoy the service! The Paracord bracelets would be donated our army troops, the color and theme of them were camouflage. Per usual with dog toys, they would be donated to our local dog shelters! This year, we want to focus on getting a couple fundraisers and many service events set every month. A big fundraiser we do every year is the Chipotle fundraiser, where we encourage members to advertise to as many people as possible to eat at Chipotle on Thursday, September 22nd . It was the day after the Blood Drive this year, so we were able to get a little more advertising done. In total, we raised just about $300, which could hopefully help members go to Fall Rally or Key Leader or other events! Chris Lam | Heritage Club Editor
