What’s Poppin’ Ninja Turtles!

We are free! Or at least me, from school, happy Summer Break Ninja Turtles. It’s already been over a month since DCON. I know we will accomplish so much this term so be sure to stay updated and active. Key Club still functions outside of the school calendar, so be sure to come to events and meet new people. I can’t wait to see everyone at OTC/June DCM on the 15th.

Brandon Yan | D10N LTG

Tune into June!

I’m so thrilled to serve as D10N’s News Editor and can’t wait to share all of the exciting things happening in June. As the weather gets warmer (perfect for our DCM), it’s time to break out the summer playlist and blast my favorite tunes. Can’t wait to make core memories!

Banquet

was a celebration of the term and of all the division's successes. Members arrived at the California Mission Inn and were welcomed by the new Lt. Governors and their IPs. The beginning of the event was marked by a period of socialization

D10N x D10S and gathering, where members took their seats at their tables and socialized with each other upon arrival. Later, the event started

04

with the distribution of food and desserts. After dinner, the IP Lt. Governors presented the District awards handed out during the District Convention. Those who were unable to attend DCON were handed. Afterwards, a period of socialization occurred as members bid their farewell to graduating seniors. And soon, just like that the banquet ended and a term of Key Club was remembered.

Career Day

Grade Career Day. Spearheaded by Pasadena Kiwanis Club President, Chris Kolbeck, the event was organized in partnership with Marshall Fundamental’s dedicated counselors. Together, they orchestrated a day filled with insightful presentations from esteemed guest speakers, each representing diverse fields ranging from Music to Finance. Professionals from various industries graciously volunteered their time to share their

career journeys and insights with eager 9th-grade students. Throughout the entirety of the day, these speakers engaged with

06

multiple classes, imparting valuable wisdom and firsthand experiences. Marshall Fundamental Key Club assisted the event by providing logistical support and hospitality to the visiting speakers.

They acted as diligent guides, ensuring that speakers were efficiently escorted to their respective classrooms. The collaborative efforts of all involved culminated in yet another resounding success for the 9th Grade Career Day.

Kiwanis Field Trip

local Metro bus line to the Pasadena Salvation Army and were met graciously by the Pasadena Kiwanis Club President, Chris Kolbeck. Arriving early, they assisted the Kiwanis Club by volunteering and putting Kiwanis stickers on hundreds of books the Kiwanis Club had planned on donating.

They planned to donate the books to little book libraries under freelittllelibrary.org. The Kiwanis Club graciously allowed each Key Club member to take

08

a book for themselves in return for their volunteering. The Kiwanis Club generously provided lunch with each person having their own Lee’s Hoagie Sandwich, with so much extra that members often took seconds. Afterwards, the Kiwanis meeting started and was led by IP Marshall Fundamental President, Brandon Yan. Brandon called the meeting to order and went through the agenda. They had a series of introductions and allowed Key Club members to experience how a Kiwanis Club meeting is done. The event proved to be extremely successful in connecting the gap between Key Club and Kiwanis, allowing for many future connections to be made.

Intro to SafeKEY

What does it mean to BEE safeKEY?

As this term continues, you’ll often hear the word “safeKEY,” but what does that encompass?

Being safeKEY means practicing professionalism on ALL platforms and in-person, because as a part of D10N and Key Club International, YOU represent Key Club.

Ensure that you are - dressed appropriately for every event - using family friendly language all the time - ALWAYS representing Key Club and its core values (LICC = Leadership, Inclusiveness, Caring, and Character Building) at all times throughout this term!

As you attend more events, such as OTC, remember that we are in a professional environment, so BEE safeKEY!

21

Intro to Preferred Charities

PTP/YES! Initiative

In addition to participating in service events, fundraising and donating to our preferred charities is a huge part of Key Club.

The CNH District preferred charities include:

● Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP)

○ Reduces the number of children injured/killed by trauma

● YES! Initiative

○ YES = Youth, Education, and Support

○ Provides financial aid to CNH Kiwanis' community service and leadership programs

As PTP has been our focus for a while, we highly encourage you to also hold fundraisers that donate solely to the YES! Initiative and promote YES! as a great charity to your club cabinet and community.
