HI-YA Division 13 South! September is already here, which means the BEE-zy key club season is here aka club rushes, back to school nights, and first meetings! I hope all of you are taking advantage of these membership recruitment opportunities to open up Key Club to the students of your school. Small things like visually-pleasing graphics, a tri-fold, or even just a conversation with someone explaining how amazing and impactful Key Club is can make all the difference in an individual's life. Remember to promote Key Club as a service club and to emphasize the effect it has on the world through the Pediatric Trauma Program and our other preferred charities. I hope all of you have a successful recruitment season and an even greater term!

mia sam // executive assistant HIYA NINJAS! The school year has officially started and that means it's now recruitment season! For those of you participating in Club Rush, or events similar, and organizing your first General Meetings, be sure to emphasize dues paid membership and the submission of MRFs and PRFs! Remember if any of you ever need the help I'm here (whether it's for Key Club, school , or even personal matters)!! Personally, I've started junior year and it's definitely getting busy. I understand there's going to be lots of responsibilities we all have to take care of this year, so please don't hesitate to ask for help or simply an ear to listen. I'm so excited to see everyone flourish this year. :)

vittina ibanez // executive assistant Hi-Ya Ninjas! I hope school has been going well for all you guys! It’s a whole new school year and you know what that means: new service events to volunteer at and new members to recruit. I hope you all are ready for more upcoming opportunities and I hope to see you key-uties at service events and DCMs! Keep working hard and serving your communities.

Sato Key Club successfully participated in the school's Club Rush during lunch on Friday, August 31st. Club Rush is a campus event where all clubs set up booths to promote the available opportunities to the general student population. As president for this term AND a general member, I really enjoy events like this during recruitment season! At our Key Club booth, we set up Key Club flyers, DCON lanyards, spirit sticks from FRS, and shirts collected from the various events our members have attended. The Sato Key Club board was present, along with some of our returning members and Lt.G, Gerard Legaspi! It was fun to be apart of the cheering, as well as the answering of many questions from those who did not know about our organization. Ultimately, we had shown potential new members large aspects of Key Club...spirit and leadership! Although we did not have sign ups during this event, we had a turnout of 70 students at our first meeting the following week. Recruitment season is always exciting!

Bellflower | Jackie Cardenas Greeting Divison 13 South Ninjas! For the month of August, Bellflower Key Club was focused on recruiting members, now that school officially started! Because Bellflower High School started school on August 20, our club worked diligently to prepare for club rush activities on August 30th and 31st. Luckily our club gained 150+ new members

Cabrillo | Alexander Pang For the month of August, Cabrillo Key Club was only able to attend one event, “Feed The Homeless”. Three members of Cabrillo Key Club helped out with cooking, setting up, serving, and cleaning up for the event. Our members met new key clubbers and were able to build friendship during the event. From that one event, we accumulated a total of 23.5 hours. It’s the beginning of school and our board members have begun to set up meetings and set plans for recruiting new club members.

Gahr | Krezzia Basilio HI-YA! Gahr Key Club has been working hard preparing for the big upcoming events such as Back to School Night, Club Rush, and our first meeting! We were able to reach our monthly August Goal of 20 service hours and 5 members to attend August DCM! We have already posted our September Monthly goal that we hope to achieve as well! We are looking forward to conducting many local club events this month and fundraising for UNICEF and PTP in the upcoming months.

Jordan | Bianca Solis Hey ninjas! Our club has been working hard on improving. A few of our representatives attended the recent boba fundraiser and we’re getting ready to recruit new members in the upcoming club rush

Mayfair | Priscilla Lee In the month of August, the Mayfair Key Club board has planned the very first meeting of the school year and what to do for the upcoming Club's Rush. Members have attended the August DCM as well as the D13S Gong Cha fundraiser. We hope to have more active members and grow as a club.

McBride | Dennis Son Hey Ninjas! School has finally started and we are getting the ball rolling again. We even had our club rush and we had about thirty people sign up for the club. We had a few members attend a Seal Beach cleanup, Polynesia Festival, and we even fed the homeless. We plan to participate in the Aloha Run. Overall, the school’s start has been successful and we look forward to our newbies

Millikan | Rachel Borje Hey ninjas! For the month of September, we're renewing our club charter for ASB so we can start having meetings ASAP! And our club rush is rapidly coming up so we are working really hard on our booth and recruitment ideas. Hopefully we'll get to meet some new Millikan ninjas soon!
