Happy Summer Grizzlies!!! Hi everyone! It is Stella Torres, your Division News Editor, coming back with another newsletter for all of you. As you can see from my… outrageous attempt on making the 4th of July cover cute, I am still trying to find my way into graphic designing. However, expect more hand-drawn newsletter from me during this term/ In this editor note, I will be talking about my motivation over summer and how it is important to get back on your feet at your lowest moments. The first week for summer, sometime during early June, I became really unmotivated to do anything. I was just talking to a friend and we agreed upon terms that when we are in school, I believe we keep ourselves so motivated to do what we had to do. Since I finally got a proper break from school, my brain has not been more relaxed. For about 2-3 days straight, I just been on Tiktok scrolling through every saved sound on my account. Nevertheless, I knew that I had to get back on my feet and started working on more newsletter content for you guys. The purpose of this mini storytime was to inform you how everyone has their laziest moment, but it is always important to keep going. I can’t wait what has yet to come this term. After that week, I just been balancing my time doing Key Club, nothing lol, and soon enough my theatre summer program. As I am writing down this “editor’s note” early, the program has not started yet, however maybe I will edit this and keep you grizzlies updated. Everyone of you is the reason I keep on trying my best in this organization, making my position as special to me as possible. One of my top goals this summer is getting to know each grizzly individually, creating bonds as much as possible. Although I won’t be super active as I was last term, I will still be at many division events as possible. I always love meeting new people, so please if you see me around, give a quick wave. I promise I don’t bite. This is all the content I have about my personal life for today… and this month. For more of my personal content and getting to know me better, make sure to follow me on Instagram @stellamiiko! Do not be afraid to message me on any platforms, I promise I won’t bite, I just want to be a friend!!

☆.。.:* Heyo, my D27N Grizzlies! .。.:*☆ I hope that you have been having a BEAR-Y relaxing and memorable summer. Whether you are taking extra classes, traveling around with your family, or staying home all day, everyday, I wish that this summer will bring you time to recuperate from the exhaustive school year that we just concluded.

We all attended school in-person for an entire year for the first time in a while, can you believe that? Anyways, my dear bear cubs, please take time to REST. Set boundaries and make time to explore your interests and spend time with your loved ones. Properly resting without feeling guilty is something that I struggle with so I hope we can start a journey towards better self care and boundary setting together! It has been very exciting for me to be able to meet some of you for the first time at service events and such. Seeing everyone with smiles on their faces as they serve always makes me a proud Lieutenant Governor. I appreciate your kindness via email, text, Messenger messaging, or in-person. You all are bear-y sweet individuals and I am so honored to be serving alongside such a great pack of leaders. This summer, I really want more Members and Officers to take the initiative to attend service and reignite their passion for it. Seeing how everyone pulled up to Festa Italiana when needed in June, I KNOW what our Division is capable of. YOUR TIME and YOUR EFFORTS during service is greatly appreciated by the individuals that benefit from it. I look forward to what July has in store for us! Never hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything and I will try my best to promptly answer your questions and support you. I am here as your Lieutenant Governor, friend, and fellow human being. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔノ♡.。.:*☆

Yours truly,2022-2023 D27N LTG Jamie Lynn Phan

It is important to acknowledge that Key Club would not be able to function and exist without members. We were all members at least once. Without them, we would not being able to give back to the community or raise awareness for PTP.

Hi Grizzlies, Alessandra here! To attract members in Key Club, I tell them about the opportunities offered and how our division is like family. Throughout my time in Key club, I have encouraged member attendance by planning fun service activities or simply just bonding time. I have also encouraged people to run for board positions, because I want them to get out of their comfort zone! I joined KC during my sophomore year as a general member and got elected the secretary during my junior year. Now as President during my senior year, I’ve gained the opportunity to network with other people and learned that the hard work is worth it. At first, I was nervous to become President, but my IP Pres (Alynna) encouraged me. I don’t regret anything, and I’d say getting out of my shell helped me encourage myself and members to learn their true potential. Have a grizzly day!

JayJ Suy; Cesar Chavez Key Club Vice President + IP Treasurer To start, I definitely want to say the people and the environment Key club has created. It started with friends and the president during my freshman year that pulled me in and when I attended my very first DCM, getting to meet all people from all schools around us where everyone was friendly with one another, I knew I wanted to get more involved as I went forward. I started attending service events, going to our daily meeting, and using these opportunities to reach out and make various friends throughout Key club. As I continued to go I took on various board roles in hopes to help members find the same passion for Key club as I have the past few years.Every event handed to me was a new chance to explore and get to know new people, while being able to help serve my community. Overall, the environment Key club has built for members all around and the events that are organized to not only help serve the community, but gives members a way of creating new bonds is what made me want to be so much more active! I’ve met so many amazing people, created memories that will stick with me forever, and learned so many helpful lessons through my journey, I will forever be grateful for Key club.

Trish Vo; McNair Key Club IP President + IP Division Executive Assistant Hihi D27N! I would say the best way to increase member retention is to maintain a good relationship within the club. As a fellow grizzly myself you can always put yourself out there and extend a hand towards the newer members that have freshly joined. This would make them more comfortable in the presence of events such as DCMs or Training Conferences. For me, a previous term president, I was able to get a lot of people signing during club rush as I was LOUD and making sure it looked like I was having a blast. However, faking your happiness isn’t a good thing so make sure you’re actually having fun doing so!!! Actively promoting and spreading the word of Key Club always intrigues people from outside of the club and wants them to know more as well. I’ve heard from a lot of Key Clubbers who regret not signing up earlier in the year as they were already seniors. To keep the same numbers next year you’d have to communicate and not hesitate to reach out to anyone if you want to get to know them more even if they seem intimidating or scary (because they’re usually not at all!!)
