STAY WARM GRIZZLIES!!!
TIS THE SEASON!!! Hi Grizzlies, it is winter season and we are so close to the end :,( It could be difficult to imagine our term almost being over, but it is all the memories that count.
I will be talking about how the christmas season introduced me to Key Club, it was before I was even in high school. I vividly remember I was at the mall, shopping for my mom’s christmas present. Then all of a sudden, I see a stand next to a shop reading “Free Christmas wrapping”. So of course, my dad took the offer. When reading the sign, it was sponsored by McNair Key Club (shoutout to Trish Vo and her home club). I didn’t think anything special of it until I was in high school when it was offered. At present, I am now thankful to have such kind-hearted Grizzlies helping our community a little bit more during the giving season.
One of my top goals is getting to know each Grizzly individually, creating bonds as much as possible. Although I won’t be super active as I was last term, I will still be at many Division events as possible. I always love meeting new people, so please if you see me around, give a quick wave. I promise I don’t bite. This is all the content I have about my personal life for today… and this month. For more of my personal content and getting to know me better, make sure to follow me on Instagram @stellamiiko! Do not be afraid to message me on any platforms, I promise I won’t bite, I just want to be a friend!!
Happy December Division 27 North Grizzlies!
It is the festive holiday season, one of my favorite times of the year (after fall being first place for best season)! The month of November was such a busy and hectic month for me (as it probably was for many of our Key Club seniors). I submitted my UC Applications, have been busy trying to apply to more scholarships, and I am preparing for my finals for this semester. As we begin to conclude the year 2022 of our lives for the next 31 days, I want to provide a reminder again that you should remember to take care of yourself physically and mentally! It is very cold so make sure to dress up in layers and make sure to set aside time so that you are able to rest and spend time with those that you love. I know that burnout during this time of the year is very common. Be kind and patient with yourself. I want to say thank you for devoting any effort and time that you have to Key Club, whether you are serving and contributing goodness to the community or by being a diligent officer or advisor.
This month, there are major events that are approaching, such as the Conference that is happening on the 4th of this month and our Workshop that is happening on the 11th. Please be sure to reserve those dates! Presidents, please be on the lookout for prospective LTG candidates. You are the ones that know your Members the best and on a more personal level, so if you see any Grizzlies that might stand out in regards to passion and leadership potential, bring up the idea of Lieutenant Governor to them! I know that it is a bit sad to think about how you all will be retiring with me at DCON 2023 in April…this is the time for you and your Officers to begin scouting potential successors that will continue the legacy that you have left behind in your Club. Remember that our impact on the community can only continue if there is smooth succession.
Since the term is coming to an end, please make the most of your time! Stay proactive about any remaining Club Goals that you all would like to accomplish. Members, there are scholarship and recognition programs that are beginning to be published so please head over to the CNH Cyberkey website and visit the Recognition tab to learn more about them. Remember that you can always contact someone on the Division Leadership Team, me, or someone on the District Committees directly, such as the Chairs, to get your questions answered! Start early if you plan on applying to any of these opportunities. Maximize your resources as Dues-Paid Members.
Stay strong! Push through and make the most of our last 2022 days before the new year begins. Start developing healthy habits and accomplish the last few of your goals…I believe in you. See you around, Grizzly. Happy Holidays!
With bear hugs,
