Hello Grizzlies! We have made it through our first months for the term! I am happy to see everyone continuing to serve their community. Service doesn't end in Summer! I encourage you all to go out and serve your community through consistent opportunities or even for a day or two. Our division goals right now are at about 1615.5 hours out of the 8500 service hours for the term! With last Month being MNT for the SOSP, we raised about 90 dollars just through small fundraisers from

schools! To put that in perspective, $1.80 is enough to provide a vaccine to save live, so we saved 50 lives in just one month! Lastly, this newsletter will be informing you all about the division and district updates, upcoming events, Member Recognition, or anything that can prove to benefit your knowledge. So, please read our Division News Editor's first issue for this month! I hope to see and meet you all soon at Officer Training Conference!

Spotlight On Service

health & safety”

The CNH Spotlight on Service Program was created by the Service Projects Committee to promote International and District initiatives as well as to encourage active participation with organizations/initiatives. The Service Projects Committee will provide monthly guides that include tips and ideas on how clubs can complete the monthly service initiatives. The program also gives clubs the opportunity to showcase their unique service projects that positively impacts their home, school, and community. The Spotlight on Service Program would like to receive project submissions from the District to showcase projects from the previous month in the District Newsletter. Receive recognition and inspire someone with your creative project ideas.

Next Month’s Theme

“Bee Clean CNH”

Make sure to check out the June Spotlight on Service Program Guide for more information!

Support Preferred Charities CNH Key Club partners with these organizations to serve children. Host fundraisers or events to support these organiations that are geared towards helping and improving the health of those in need. - Chidren’s Miracle Network - March of Dimes - Unicef - Pediatric Trauma Program Educate It is important to educate each other on how to stay healthy and safe. Take precautions and spread awareness about safety hazards. Hold seminars and host workshops to inform people about our preferred charities, or simply create presentations for the classroom or local organization teaching children on how to avoid risky behavior and how to stay healthy. Get Involved! Your club can always get more involved to improve the health and safety of the community. Host clean-ups or partner with a hospital to make PTP dolls. You can also put together first-aid kits to donate to a shelter, or have members volunteer at a local run or walk. Another event idea is to hold a marathon to promote health and donate profits to a charity. The possibilities are endless!

May DCM

Welcome 2019-2020’s Division Leadership Team!

CELINA PADILLA

MIDDLE COLLEGE

“

On May 18th, quite a few Middle College Key Clubbers attended the May Division Council Meeting (DCM). This DCM was a joint DCM, with our sister division, Division 27 South. This DCM was held at the Stockton Early College Academy, SECA. Our members participated in both the provided joint games and service projects. The ice breaker games were played with the divisions mixed together, and the members were able to interact by play tug-of-war, as well as an activity where the LTGs called for a certain item and one person from their team had to run up to a small box to drop the item, if they have it, in the box. Besides these interactive social activities, members were encouraged to make cards with sweet notes.

Swim Meet

cLAIRE RASAMEE SECA

Two shifts were held over the weekends and volunteers had to rise bright and early for their shift at 7:30 to 2:30. In order to make the swim meet run smoothly with multiple teams, SECA key clubbers were in charge of running the snack bar or helping whenever their assistance was needed. Dickson Huang, Josue Ocampo, Andrew Woo, and Esteban Aceves were in charge of the shift for the first day. Volunteers sold concessions or became a timer for the swimmers in a race. Additionally, key clubbers helped prepare meals for the coaches and other swim officials. “We just helped sell concessions like coffee, fruit cups, and other drinks. It was a lot of fun,” Josue Ocampo summarizes. With the dedication shown by SECA volunteers, it contributed to the success of the event and provided an overall delightful experience for all those that attended.
